WORST nail salon I've been too. The guy I had had so harsh on filing my nails it hurt my skin. He also was very rough with my hands and left glue and nail polish on the underneath of my acrylic nails. When "cleaning" off my nails he sprayed alcohol with a spray bottle but it sprayed on me and my face most and then at the end he rushed me out and didn't even put lotion on my hands and left more nail dust all over me and at the end told me $75. I don't think this was even close to a $75 job.. especially with how my hands hurt afterwords. read more

This salon sucked. My daughter and I went together since I was in town for Mom's Weekend. 1. We called for an appt the day before, but the guy hung up and didn't write down our names. Then, even though we had an appt, he did nails and toes separately and we were there for almost two hours. They just kept allowing more and more and more people to come in after us and get served. Then, they tell you they don't allow credit card tipping. Shouldn't that be clearly posted? Finally, my both my nails and my daughter's don't even look good. Wow. This is one of those reviews that is difficult to write. The service was great but the management not so much. A friend and I went here together to get our nails done. I had a pink and white gel fill which is not a complicated procedure at all. The technician did a great job and she was professional and pleasant. I tried to strike up conversation with her but she did not speak much English so we just smiled and nodded at each other. My friend got a complete set and her tech also did a great job. They made sure we were comfortable and pleased with the results. We got here at just the right time, too. After we sat down, the customers started pouring in. There were so many people that I thought they should have turned some people away just to prevent overcrowding. There was little space to sit while waiting for a tech, too. Parking is limited at the shop. This shop is in a small strip mall and there are very few spaces. Luck has to be on your side in order to get a space. If you can get a parking space, the shop is easy to access. The shop is clean, too. Everything seems in order. They seem to have the latest and greatest equipment. This is a small shop but they have room for an ATM machine, which I think is humourous for some reason. One of the reasons we picked Envy Nails was because I had a YELP coupon I was going to use. There was no expiration date on the coupon. It popped up when I checked in on YELP. The manager refused to honor the coupon. I insisted and he called the owner. She told me that she had been trying to get YELP to get rid of the coupon so she would not honor the coupon. I know the owner and she owns six other nail shops in Lawrence. She charges a great deal of money for her services. It would not have hurt her to honor a YELP coupon that was associated with her shop. I will not go back. read more

Do people still check Yelp? I hope so, because I dropped in today and Tan was so kind, attentive and fixed my nails that were butchered by another place in town. He did everything to make sure they were perfect, and even helped me pick a pretty color that suited my skin tone. He is so friendly and professional, he even gave reasons why my nails weren't done properly at the other place without bad-mouthing them. He listened to me as I was a little sad about my father, and said so many kind things that made me feel better. My nails look so pretty, and my cuticles are trimmed to perfection. HORRIBLE. The man spent less than five minutes on a pedicure that cost $42. Once i realized he was rushing, I then canceled the manicure and remaining service on my feet. He spent more time massaging my feet than the entire pedicure!! I was so angry because I could've did a better job for free. I told him to stop once he put the towel over my feet because I was so sick to my stomach. 5 MINUTES on a pedicure? It takes at least five just to properly clean one foot. They're overpriced, PETTY, and HORRIBLE service. No one asked why I was cancelling my service or if I was satisfied. I WILL NEVER support any of these average locations in Lawrence again! read more

I mean they do an ok nail job for the most part but they are suupppper PETTY and OVERPRICED on the silliest things like for example my daughter got a mini pedi and wanted each nail a different color and of course, I thought sure there surely is no extra charge but NOPE, they charge for each individual nail to be a different color which does not really make sense to me considering you're using the same exact amount of nail polish and so you're not losing out on anything but I guess that's just part of being petty.I also things is insane to charge for each and every Individual design (they quotes me $5 per flower on each nail All in all I'll take my daughters somewhere else in the future! I specifically told the lady what we wanted and confirm the prices with her for both of my daughters nails and then when she set my daughters down she asked them my seven and 11-year-old what they wanted and I feel like it's inappropriate to ask children because the children obviously are not paying for it and considering the fact that I confirmed the price before the services. I go here every 3-4 weeks for an overlay with gel polish and request for John or Tiffany and have never had to do a thing to my nails until I sit in the chair again. Got a deluxe pedicure. Curious what the basic one is like because the deluxe was a waste of $50.00.

Got my nails done on a Thursday, designed was not what I asked for but I was still okay with the way it looked. Besides the fact the nailed were bumpy and not smooth. Each nail was different lengths and thickness in acrylic. My first nail fell off 2 days later opening my car door. 2 days after that (5 days of having $100 nails) they all had fallen off. They would not give me a refund at all or fix my nails because I didn't have any nails on for them to fix. read more

I honestly love this place so much. Every time I come here I immediately get someone doing my nails, which I usually get a full set. The people there are very welcoming and there's always a little boy in there making me laugh. The nail artists are very precise, they check with you multiple times on the color, length, shape, designs, etc. Every time I have gotten my nails done there they turn out exactly like the photo. I recently moved here from Philadelphia and wandered in here for a manicure. I sit down, she starts doing my nails, and 5 minutes in tells me it'll be $43 for a gel manicure. Since she already had started, I agreed, but having gone to nicer, cleaner salons in Philadelphia where I paid max 30 dollars I was shocked at this price point. Beware of fungus when getting acrylics at this salon. I have seen several cases where nails have either already started to create a fungus under the nail or are just beginning to grow. The quality of work is very dependent of the nail tech you have. If you are fortunate to have a qualified nail tech you may walk away with a fabulous manicure that lasts you a decent amount of time but I have never experienced a GREAT manicure here. I have received many different services from Envy (gel, dip, and acrylic) and none have lasted me the length of time that they should last so I would not recommend to others.The price is a little high for what you receive. In addition, some of the nail techs are not certified in all the nail services. This has caused a lack of understanding between a nail tech and I several times where I was given the wrong or incomplete service that I had asked for. This can be very frustrating when trying to relax and receive a manicure so I would keep this in mind when thinking of going to Envy. read more

My nails came out great! I did wait a long time to get them done, though. I got there at 3:30 and didn't get out until 5 pm on a Sunday. The workers are nice although I've read some reviews that say they are mean and unprofessional. I think this is because the workers are more laid back and casual about they way they talk and act with customers, you either like it or you don't. I paid $50 for a fill because I had about two broken nails that needed to be fixed and replaced, I wanted gel, and I chose the holographic style nails with almond shape. If you have a lot of time and are in no rush to get your nails done, and if you don't mind the laid back environment, I highly recommend this place. i have been here once before today and wasn't impressed but today i was in a bind for a fill. i had long almond shaped nails coming in and said i only wanted enough length off my nail to make it coffin shaped. when filling, he used entirely too much product to where my nails felt heavy with product and looking at the tip of them, they were at least 1/8th of an inch thick.... the tech took my nails entirely too short and square and was getting rude with me about asking him to make them all the same length as my entire right hand was left longer than my left, this still wasn't fixed. i wanted a french tip and even had a photo pulled up with how i liked it to be painted as i have had issues with it in the past. he showed me the tip he painted (which was thick and unlike the photo i showed) and asked if it was okay, i said id like it more like the picture. this happened three times. he then GAVE UP on giving me what i wanted and had me wait for a different tech who was filling another clients nails. when i got seated with the new tech, he also did not meet my expectations. i was made to feel like i was being rude and picky, when i was just another client wanting french tips... this whole situation was ridiculous and i regret paying the $75 they charged. read more

Next day, one broke. I went back, and he said he was too busy to fix it. Came back next morning and he acted like he was mad at me for it breaking. Jerking my hand around. Didn't say one word to me besides "your done". Did a half ass job on the fix. Mind you I paid $50 for that FILL. He said it's because the shape and length (square shape at that, nothing crazy). This place is...interesting. I have gone here because it's close to my house, and I have also gone to Nail Citi, owned by the same people. Lawrence is seriously lacking a good inexpensive nail salon, forcing me to go to places like this. Anyway, I've never been necessarily pleased with it. The employees are seriously the most unprofessional I've ever seen in a nail salon. They talk to each other the entire time about their plans to go party tonight or what have you. When it's not busy they'll play on their phones, bring food in and eat at the nail stations, and even sleep in the pedicure chairs. It's seriously off-putting and bizarre. At best, they talk way too much and pry into your personal life. Sorry guys, but your $50 pedicure and complete lack of decorum have driven many away and I may be next. I leave frustrated every time. SCAM ALERT! I have gone to this salon for several years always getting pedicures. Even though each time the polish was unevenly applied leaving streaks and an occasional section that had no polish, I continued to go as the prep work was very good (trimming, filing and removal of callous) + the distance from my home to the shop was very convenient. HOWEVER -- I made an appointment several weeks ago to ensure I could get the day and time slot needed. I was, of course, aware of our Douglas County's ordinance requiring a face mask however Nail Envy "created" an additional requirement: A FACE SHIELD WAS also REQUIRED!!! I was not made aware of this during my call nor when I arrived was it posted anywhere in the salon. It was only once I had signed in, had picked out the nail polish color and was ready to be seated that I was told of this requirement. When I presented the fact that one was not required by any government ordinance whether local, state or federal, the feedback was, "We have one you can buy here". WHAT??? Buy one at the salon for who knows how much $$$ when I could have looked into pricing of face shields and perhaps have bought one before my appointment time. I realize businesses are frantic to keep their business open and doing various things to help ensure such, some quite ingenious, but when a business attempts to scam the very customers from whom they service, they need to be called out for what they are doing: SCAMMING CUSTOMERS read more

I was very frustrated with my time here. I made an appointment here because all my friends go there and have the best nails. My appointment was at 2 and they didn't start my toes until 2:40, so i just sat there and waited. When it got to my nails, the lady never asked what shape i wanted so she started filing them to a shape i hate and i had to ask her to fix it. She was so distracted and sloppy and at the end, i had to ask her to clean up my cuticles. It never occurred to her to ask me if i wanted to do that. My nails are so uneven and the dip looks different on every nail. I will cut them some slack because they had a wedding party coming in that evening so they had to squeeze all their appointments in early and they were very busy. I would try going there again just because my friends love them but paying $84 for very subpar nails was ridiculous to me. After getting a dip manicure on Friday, two of my nails were broken by Saturday night and another one broke on Monday.
