I went here for the first time before a school dance and had no issues. But yesterday I went back with my friend and just generally did not have a good experience. The woman acted like she didn't want to be there. She wasn't rude or anything, she was just silent. Which I actually don't mind, I get it. Monday's suck and I hate my job too. I'm not one of those people who think employees MUST be smiling at me, just because I'm there. And I'm not a big fan of talking so the silence was fine. The real problem was the manicure. She cut me twice. Once on my right hand at my cuticles. It bled so much she had to wipe it off with nail polish remover. (Which she apologized for.) The other time on my left hand pinky. Not even at My nail, she just took a slice out of my skin when she was cutting the edges. I wasn't going to leave a review but my fingers hurt so bad and sting everytime i brush them against something. The actual nails look fine and she did a good job on those. I still tipped because I always tip. ‍ (The only time she smiled/was nice to me was when i handed her it ) I don't remember the woman's name. And I definitely don't want to get her in trouble or anything. But I don't think I'll be going back. read more

Michael gave me an acrylic full set that was amazing! I can't believe it was only $25. He gave me a $60 service for how great of a job he did. Normally I have a problem with technicians not putting on enough glue so after a few days , the nails break off. Michael was very knowledgeable and assured me they wouldn't break by putting on extra glue. He advised me not to have my nails too long as well and i am glad he suggested that. I have had my acrylics for about two weeks now and two of them were broken off. Earlier in the day, I had pried one of the broken ones off and decided it was time to get them removed. Against my better judgement, I went here instead of the place I had gotten them done because I just wanted them off thinking no one can mess up REMOVING acrylics. I was WRONG. I walked in and asked to get my acrylics removed, sat down and the nail tech started off by filing off my polish. I thought it was a little strange but just let her do her thing. THEN, to my bewilderment, she pulled out nail clippers, a file, and an acrylic tip and proceeded to CUT OFF MY TIPS AND RIP THE ACRYLICS OFF MY NAILS. She did not even ask if I wanted to keep my nails long or what have you. She just clipped and ripped. I was so shocked I just sat there while she pried the acrylics off one by one in little bits. I mention the acrylic tip because she used that to get between my nail and the acrylics. What she couldn't get off in the first try, she used cuticle cutters to scratch/chip off. When she got to my pinky, she actually ripped part of my actual nail off with the acrylic and tried to continue before I told her not to continue to touch that nail. Since the damage was already done, I just let her continue to take my nails off even though I could feel myself getting upset. After everything, she was at least nice enough to apologize once she saw how irritated I was and give me a slight discount. I paid, left her a tip (because this is still her job and a service I chose to get done), and left. I will not be returning here and I would not suggest it to anyone else who wants to get their acrylics removed, unless you like having them RIPPED OFF. This is definitely my first and last time here. To be honest, it still bewilders me why any nail salon would allow their technicians to PRY OFF ACRYLICS instead of doing it the way I've seen every other salon do it. But to each their own I suppose???? read more

My experience was horrible.....Language is one of problem, using gift certificate was so confusing/language issues. Shellac pedi was not worth $45. If I can give them ZERO STAR that's what I would be giving it to them. Do learn to speak English so that customer doesn't have to get irritated. read more

Lately I have been getting the not so great ones and I'm thinking of going to different nail salon now. I've had bad paint jobs on regular mani and pedis. WORST EXPERIENCE IN OVER 25+ YEARS!!!! I recently moved to Woodbridge and went to the closest nail salon to where I live. This was Nail Design in the Safeway shopping center. I went in for a pedicure and gel nail fill. I should have realized there was something wrong when I arrived there on a Friday at 5:30pm and found the place to be a ghost town. Several nail technicians on phones, computers, etc. and only 1 other customer. The shop was in different stages of renovations, tv's still in boxes, no music, old and outdated everywhere but the new pedicure chairs and sinks. I went to the pedicure chair and right off the water was ice cold, then the nail technician (i should have gotten her name but she was in her 40's maybe with a very short curly haircut) put something in the water that made bubbles come all the way up to my knees! I have never experience a "bubble bath pedicure before. So, moving on the pedicure lasted about 10 minutes, and that's being generous. It took her longer to clean up the polish that she got on my toes then to do the whole pedicure. I should have left after that, but alas I did not. So, on to the nail fill. The nail tech was on warp speed, filing and grinding and what have you. Before I knew it, she was putting on the gel powder, but she hadn't even taken off the white french tip polish yet!?!?!? Well, guess what? She wasn't going to. She said it looked fine and was just going to go over it with clear!! I finally said something, which was NO WAY!! I want a FRESH coat of polish, both white and clear, so now she had to re grind off everything because the polish was gel. So, during this episode of grinding, she ground my thumb nail down, past the gel, and into my actual nail bed. My nail was on FIRE! And it still hurt several hours later. She apologized, but the damage was done, I even had to ask her to refill that area since now there was a big gouge out of it. CRAZY!! So, the end result, uneven nails, too thick glopped on gel, messy and uneven french tips and gel and polish on my skin on most of my fingers. Oh, and only 1 coat of polish and gel. I will NEVER go here again, and neither should you!! read more

Love Kathy! I think it is all about finding the right nail tech! She takes her time and is sweet as can be. When I go get my nails done, I dont like to talk much because its my relaxing time. She respects that but we still have small conversations. The only reason I am giving it a 4 starts are because the manicure chairs are not very comfortable but that is just me...low back. I have had people do my nails here that I didnt like....so try different people. read more

I can't speak for every technician, but Tina is phenomenal. This is probably my third year having her as a nail tech. I'm very particular about my "coffin" shape and length, especially working in a professional environment. She keeps them sassy and simple. I usually call for an appointment. The business fluctuates. My advice would be to call beforehand. They're extremely honest about the wait time if there is one. Over the years they have renovated and got lots of new gels polishes to choose from. read more

I've tried Nail Design and their quality of work is not acceptable. They treat you so nice and sweet to get your attention off of their flaws. The owner will talk about you to other customers which is very unprofessional. Other salon nails look strong and nice and Nail Design nails look nice and weak, they break and bend. I've come here before and I'm sure I paid less last time but oh well. I paid $90 (with tip) for 2 French mani pedis and it was a bit pricey. So the lady that did my nails was really nice and she did my nails well and gave me info about how to keep my nails in good shape and she made some convo with me and carried my bag and shoes over to the drying table for me. I didn't get her name but she's a sweet little lady she had a pony tail. But the lady that did my sisters nails was pretty rude. She did a good job on her nails but she didn't talk at all to my sister and she was very demanding (tapping her to switch hand/feet) and she didn't bother carrying over my sisters shoes (my sister is only 12, she could've used the help). I didn't get her name but she has a tattoo on her left shoulder it's something in red writing and she has long brown and blonde hair. read more

I asked for SIDS powder and was not showing all of the color options so I had to stick with an ugly color that I do not like because I was unaware of the other options available. I left with sticky residue on my hands. Polish was left around my cuticles. I should not have walked out of there without speaking to the manager first. I've been in here a few times (only because they are the closest to my house). They did an okay job on my nails, but the few times I've had a mani/pedi/eyebrow wax here I've had the same problems. #1: They took their posted prices down from the wall (there are just the two screw holes left where the prices used to be) and they vary their prices quite a bit, so you always have to ask for a price up front (which they don't like to tell you. They ask you to have a seat in the pedi chair first, before they discuss, so it's harder to say no to the price). I walked in this week and asked for the price... two people answered at once, with one saying $30 and one saying $40. I asked which it was, they looked at each other, and decided $40. #2: They cut the sides of my fingers/my cuticles using the little clipper things and I left there bleeding. Both times, they dropped the clippers back in their drawer after they finished trimming my cuticles... MAYBE they sterilize them after you leave, but it didn't look like it. #3: They wax your eyebrows REALLY thin (and sort of uneven), even after I tell them that I like them to look more thick and natural. #4: The few people I've had haven't been all that friendly (I think I've gotten the same young guy twice and an older woman). read more

I went to this salon for only a FILL. I have occasionally gone here for a nail design, and have always been happy with their work. When I sat down I was asked "what are we doing?" I said "a fill, and I wear my nails square". I did not want them shorter than they were; only for them to be filed as part of the service. She took her drill to the tips, drilled them shorter, applied the acrylics, and once all were set and ready to be filed and buffed, she filed them on a SLANT. After she did one hand I stopped her and asked her why she shaped them when I said early on that I wear them square. My nails looked so different then when I came in. When I questioned her why they were not shaped square she said if I get a new set she could file them square. These are my natural nails. She also gave me a file to file them the way I wanted. I let her finish my nails, but will never go back. My nails feel rough and the sides were not filed. Don't expect this salon to do your nails as you ask them to do. They do what they want to do and not what you ask them to do. They don't listen! read more

They are super friendly and have great customer service. They have A LOT of color choices, no matter what style nail you choose. They even have mood nail colors. Their prices are affordable too! More importantly their faculty is clean! I am VERY satisfied with the color of my nails, the quality and how friendly they all were.
