It is conveniently located on he second floor of Dulles Town Center next to where Sears was. Parking is easy and the hours are great. Kim is always kind offering water, chocolates, and tea. I'm really particular when it come to certain services. The nail tech, I always ask for and make my appointment with is Cindy. My eyebrows, nails and feet are always on point. This place got 2 stars because of not caring staff and mediocre outcome. I went here for several reasons: it was close to my job, graduation was the next day, and because they were having a "Wednesday special." When I first arrived, 2 customers were seated waiting and a woman and her child were drying their nails. The first thing I noticed was so many plastic water bottles laying around about 8-9 (trust me, I wanted to take a picture). It was 6:30 when I arrived and I was politely greeted by a pedicurist, asking me what service I needed. I said a French full set. She told me to take a seat and they will be with me soon. Around 6:40 the first woman sitting was called up and three completed customers walked out. I figured I would be up very soon but ten minutes later I was called up. The woman, Kelly, sat me down in the second row and started filing my nails. Then she asked if she could stop to do another customers eye brows and I told her yes. I waited 10 minutes for her to come back. Then she began applying the tips that were white. I have never used white tips but I allowed her because she said she would only do white tips or airbrush (I prefer paint). She was careful putting the tips on, but she was careless the rest of the way. After applying and shaping my nails she brushed the oil on my fingers (not my cuticles) and told me to "go wash." I washed my hands and she said "pay now." I don't mind paying at this point, but it was just the way she said it. Then she asked if I was doing an even $30 on my card and I said yes, she said "you don't want to add a tip on here?" I said no, she walked away with rude look on her face. She came back and I had the cash tip in my hand and she perked up really fast. She put on the top coat twice and put my hands in front of the fans on her work station, not even the drying table. Then got up and left. I sat there for like 8 minutes and she didn't come back to check my nails so I got up and left. Analyzing my nails on the way out I was not impressed. Moral of the story: 1. Horrible experience. Non-existent customer service. No pleasantries. They talk about customers the ENTIRE time and don't even try to hide it. The older thin guy doing my nails kept commenting on the condition of my nails after I let them go for too long between visits. I know they don't look good, that's why I'm at the salon. I had to remind him of that. Who seriously tells you Over and Over how bad your nails look when you're paying them to fix them? He kept making my nails crooked while filing them and I kept asking him to fix them so he charged me an extra $3 because my nails required "too much work" -- Unbelievable! I guess I should have kept my mouth shut and left with crooked nails. My nails only look decent because I made him correct his mistakes. I paid the extra charge but that is the first and last money they will ever get from me. In all of the years I've been visiting nail salons this is the first time I've ever left without tipping. I've been going here on and off for a few years but I recently decided to make this my go to nail spot for 3 reasons: 1) Great customer service, no matter who is available and how busy they are. 2) Competitive Prices, Specials mid-week 3) Quality nail techs! David is my go-to guy but if he isn't available anyone there will give you what you want. I came on a break between shifts to have a gel nail polish change. I was able to sit down right away and Cindy took care of me. I asked her to add extra layers because my nails easily break and she gave me an amazing amount of colors to choose from. She talked the entire time, but not all to me. I don't really mind though because there were TVs on to watch. She did an amazing job. Very attention to detail and I am very happy with the final result. Nail Citi has some of the worst customer service in the area. I've been in a few times to get a full set, and today I came in for the same. The man wanted to charge me an additional $5 for oval shape. When I asked why he's charging me $5 when I've never paid before he yelled out "tell me who did your nail, I'll fire them" he repeated it a few more times. I responded I will not tell him who did my nails before, and that I will not be returning due to the lack of respect for his employees. I believe he was only charging me $5 because there was a special on a full set and he wanted to be cheeky and get a couple more dollars. He later on asked me why I wasn't in school, I said I wasn't in school. Once learning of my occupation and company he wanted to start an argument about recent events about my company. I came here back in summer of 2008. I was leaving for my vacation, had just gotten my nails done at my then "regular" nail salon however decided not to get a pedicure. Then later on during the day as I was doing my last minute shopping - I changed my mind, came to this place and got a pedicure. Have been coming here ever since. KELLY has been my manicurist since that day and she is simply wonderful. There are times she will tell me "not this color, you'll come back in two days to change it". I've been going to Nail Citi since March of last year. I ran in for a manicure just before my flight to Los Angeles and Henry was my guy. Because he took his time and he did such an excellent hand massage and beautiful gel nail manicure I've gone back ever since. But I can also vouch for Kim who does the best eyebrow arching. She, too, takes her time and gets my brows perfect every time. The staff is friendly too. I can recommend who I've had experience with and that is Henry and Kim. It's best to make an appointment to ensure that the appropriate time is spent with you and that you can see the manicurist that you know just does it right for your personal liking! I usually only like to get french tips done and this is the only nail salon that can ever get mine done exactly just the way I like it (I have tried several other salons)! I usually try to get Kelly or Kim, they are really good at listening to what you want and do an excellent job. Kelly usually does your nails really quickly while Kim will take her time so it depends if you're in a rush that day or looking for a relaxing time, but both do an amazing job. They are also willing to stay after close to do your nails. So glad to have found this salon and Kim/Kelly! read more

This is pretty much the only nail salon in the Dulles Town Center mall. Maybe this is why there are no reviews because when you're shopping there you dont have much of a choice, unless you want to spend a lot more money and time at one of the spa salons there. This is the worst nail salon experience I have ever had in my life. I have pointy-shaped nails and none of these techs could really handle it. I called an hour before they close asking if they had time for a manicure and for two nail fixes. I was told that the manicure costs $13 and $3 per nail fix. I was insisted on to just come in and I agreed. I was already inside the mall during the phone call so it took me 3 minutes to walk over. It was 30 minutes before they closed by the time I was seated in front of a tech. Now mind you I have worked a receptionist job at a nail salon in high school so I know that a manicure is booked for 30 minutes including any added nail fixes. I was in the salon for an hour and a half and here's why: They set me up with a tech who does manicures only. She was sweet as can be but I was quite clear with her that I needed extensions for two nails. By the time she was done removing my cuticles is when it was clear that someone else had to come and do the extensions for me. They sat me at another table and another tech started putting tips on my nails. Then because of my nail shape another tech sat down and finished the job and told me the fix is actually $5 per nail. I told him I was informed $3 and he sad you have to have an actual full set of extensions to pay 3 but I don't see the difference but by that time I wanted to hurry up and leave so I acquiesced. I don't care about the $4 more dollars I have to pay but it's the being misinformed to and it doesn't matter to them that really annoys me. I asked for them to file them shorter, and again like I said they couldn't handle it and left it pretty much as is. The final product by the way was really poor I hate the way my nails look. I finally was returned back to my original manicure-only tech. I was about to take off my wedding rings, which I had JUST taken to the jeweler to get cleaned, before receiving the massage part of the mani and she told me not to. Trusting her, I let her slather on a huge load of lotion on my hands. Thinking she might massage around the rings, she completely covered them in lotion! Not only that she didn't even completely rub in the lotion she put on my hands and just tells me to go wash them. It took me 5 minutes to completely get this crap off my hands and my rings. I patiently returned to get my nails painted, now another tech shoves my tech aside with a cross look on her face because she was taking so long and finished the job. While waiting for her rude ass to finish, another tech was vacuuming. He took a seat behind me to vacum under the table and proceeded to bump into my chair several times, moving me around. I know yall are rushing to close up but that's not my fault. $23 later, it took 4-5 nail technicians to give me a manicure, go figure. read more

I went here to get my gel nail polish removed and a get regular manicure. The guy there stuck my entire hand in acetone (rather than putting a cotton roll on my nail covered by aluminum so that my entire hand doesn't dry out). He then began to use his FINGERNAIL to scrape the polish off. It was painful and gross. Not hygienic at all. He then rushed to do my manicure and my nail polish chipped almost completely the next day. Will never return here. read more

This is my least favorite nail salon. Considering theirs prices you would expect good service. They have terrible nail techs, terrible customer service and it's just not worth it. I went today and the technician ignored all of my requests and completely cut my cuticles to where I was in pain then put nail polish remover over them after his messy paint job. I have been trying to find a really nice nail place for years! And I have finally found one, my nails come out perfect. My fingers and nails never bleed or become sore, the pedicure is amazing and relaxing. The staff is very friendly and nice. My refills last longer than 2 weeks. I go to the same woman, I can't remember her name but she's amazing. The atmosphere is very calming and relaxing, I never have to wait. I love it! Having been quoted $60-$70 from other salons in the area I questioned to make sure this was correct. The man on the phone said, "Full set, pink and white, $25." When I arrived I got the service I wanted and the set was beautiful but I was charged $60!!! When I pushed back the manager told me that none of her employees said they had answered my call and she did not know who was telling the truth. News flash: the customer is always right! I will never go back to Nail Citi. A girlfriend and I went in yesterday. She got a simple manicure and I got my legs and bikini line waxed. Needless to say it was a mistake to even go in the first place. I was in the waxing room for an hour and a half. Not only did the woman miss spots on my leg, but I already have stubble on my shins and bikini line...Its only been 12 hours. She didn't even fully remove the hair, she just broke it. So I paid $80 to have my leg hair cut.... My girlfriend showed her nail tech the shape of the nail she wanted. Oddly enough, he somehow wasn't able to do it. I'm not sure if he's blind or has no regard for his customers desires. After her manicure, she had nail polish all over her figures and cuticles, her skin was peeling at the top of her fingers, and she was upset. She asked for them to fix it and they told her they "didn't see the problem". I went back in today to demand my money back, or to simply fix it. She basically blamed me for why she wasn't able to wax all my hair. She told me I rushed her and that she would "pluck pluck" my hair for me? Yeah I don't think so. He kept getting mad that my ring was almost falling off, finally he took my ring off and slammed it on the table. Afterwards, he was finishing up my nails and realized he had to go get his car. He left in the middle of doing my nails and the nice lady had to finish up. I finally looked at my nails and they were horrible! My thumb on one side is ROUND and the other hand is SQUARE. One hand has longer nails and the other is shorter. I was gonna go back and ask for it to be fixed but I didn't want them to continue screwing it up. Each time I have been, they have managed to mess then up. I could not recommend this place, and would not. If you're in the mall and looking for a place to stop for a pedi, go right ahead. I read the other reviews before posting mine - I've been a customer at Nail Citi for like a decade now. Along the way I've gone to other places for manis, pedis, and the occasional waxing... some cheaper, some more expensive -- all in all though, I keep finding myself back at Nail Citi. Everyone who works there is nice & willing to help -- My advice is to find one or two employees that you feel comfortable with and make appointments with them specifically. I've had good and bad experiences with Nail Citi, but none were ever bad enough to make me not return. Tues & Weds they have discounts -- plus they recently upgraded all the pedicure spa chairs. There's a younger man that works there, he actually cut my cuticle once -- so I won't let him touch me again. However, Henry is a great choice for nail tech... there are also two other ladies that are there practically all the time (I wish I knew their names), but they're phenomenal as well.
