I went in for an acrylic soak off an a gel mani. They did an acrylic "rip off" where they proceeded to rip my acrylics one by one. It was excruciating and hurt so bad. I should have just gotten up and walked out. The woman was trying to rip my thumb nails off and they wouldn't budge. When I spoke up and told her it really hurt she looked so pissed, rolled her eyes at me, and got out stuff to "soak off". I don't think they ever soak nails off because she did it totally wrong and was super impatient about it. Horrible vibe. Horrible service, felt like she wanted me out the door. The quality of service you get seriously depends on the person doing your nails. One of the only good guys there moved to wildflower salon, and right now there's only one good lady doing nails. She does amazing nails and they always last a long time but almost everyone else kind of sucks. I got nails done by someone else for winter formal about 2 years ago and they came out lumpy and misshapen. They are very nice people. read more

I came in for a basic gel pedicure and was disappointed by the lack of attention to detail. My cuticles were never touched during the service (should have watched her do it, but figured I could relax...), and when I brought it up at the end, the technician attempted to remove them after applying the gel--then tried to repaint over the existing polish. My nails were also left unevenly shaped. This isn't the first time I've had issues with this particular technician. When I asked to have the polish removed because of the poor quality, I was still told I owed $36, despite leaving with bare nails. When I asked for a manager, I was told the technician was the manager. Another staff member even pulled up their Instagram claiming they were "the best in Lawrence," which came off as unprofessional and dismissive. I was only willing to pay if someone else could complete the service properly, which is how I ended up getting regular polish from another tech as I write this. Awful service. I made an appointment and they took walk-ins ahead of me. I'm still waiting 30 min later, 15 min of which I had to stand because there's not enough chairs to accommodate those waiting. No one greets you or looks at you or informs you of anything. I figured out you have to write your name on a sign in sheet. I had selected this location because of a great positive first experience. In August, I went in for a friend's wedding and got a simple one color gel manicure for $20. I thought that was fantastic and so I excitedly booked an appointment for 6 people for my wedding. I got a simple one color gel manicure and pedicure. I did not ask for or receive any additional services, massages or otherwise. I was charged $76 on my second trip. Another friend was charged $86 for a gel manicure and pedicure. My sister who did a simple one color gel manicure was charged $46. This was clear and explicit price gauging. I am appalled and furious. I will actively dissuade others from this salon. read more

In a previous review of another salon in the city specializing in manicures and pedicures I confessed to not knowing a thing about this kind of business. However, after several visits to other said competitor I'm here to announce nothing has changed--I'm still no expert on these places. What I do know is I really enjoyed my pedicure session here and was under the clear impression this lady really knew her business. Man, did I get the treatment, 25% tip kind of service. And, well, those flashing disco style lights in the water as you're getting your warm soak. I mean, who doesn't dig that? Even scored a free bottle of water. I can get used to this. Hmm, so I suppose others come here and don't get what they're looking for. My wife and I both got treatments at the same time and had a blast. The people working were friendly and the decor is just cheesy enough that we thought it all great fun. Guys, it's OK, you can walk in and enjoy yourselves here. She messed up the shape, glued the tips on crooked, and overall botched the entire set. I was so disappointed I went to the store to by a nail file to try to fix the horrendous job she did. Pretty much all the nails were different shapes and length. Didn't offer me any cuticle oil for the cuticles she basically destroyed. My cuticles were peeling on all my fingers from her careless use of the mechanical file. My fingers hurt so badly when she was done. Hated this place and will never go back. I have been going here for over a year and absolutely love their designs. They do very good quality work 9/10 times, but their service has gone downhill. I walked in and saw that they were kinda busy, but he told me it would be 20-30 min not even looking around at the other technicians to see their progress on other clients. While I was waiting he continues to tell everyone that comes in that it'll be 20-30 min. I'm still sitting here an hour later and no one has come to do anything except we have our water but we've been sitting in the water for our pedicures for 15 min, just for them to seem like we're getting closer since we've been waiting for so long. read more

Got a gel manicure on a Wednesday, manicured messed up the polish so bad, and refused to fix it (mind you, my card wasn't even charged until Friday). The older gentleman did mine. His work is terrible. When I pushed to have my nails corrected at the time of manicure, he told me the polish was on my skin and would come off. It didnt. Polish is soft and faded. Has scratched and smears all over every nail. The polish never hardened up. By saturday I got a chip. Sunday, i returned and they refused to fix my manicure. He said they would fix the chip only and I would have to pay for a whole new manicure otherwise. He said gel nails last 3 weeks, but that even though my nails were trash 4 days later, too bad because he doesn't know what I've been doing with my hands. Why would I go once, get a regular manicure, which he told me doesn't last, and encouraged gel polish which costs more), return a second time, get the more expensive manicure, and then try to scam them? to begin, it was super snowy and i came in slightly late. thankfully, so did the workers! evryone was very sweet, and even offered to turn on the chiefs game (important!) . the lady who did my nails (Binh), switched out my color THREE times after i didn't like it the first two, and didn't make a huge deal out of it at all. she really took her time on them, which was awesome. they look amazing! read more

I feel bad because the employees are nice, and they mean well, but they have absolutely no regard for your time, and they are completely unprofessional shouting things across the room at one another. Now this I wouldn't mind if they got me in and out of there at a decent time but both times I've been here now I've wasted 3 hours of my time (for a gel mani/pedi). I sat there half done in the chair while the employee worked on 2 different customers at the same time. They have new employees that have no idea what they are doing "practice" on you, and then charge you full price. I got a gel pedicure and they were completely ruined the very next day when gel is supposed to last 2 weeks. During my recent trip to Lawrence, I needed to find a nail salon, stat. I tried to call places in the area and was told by more than one place they could fit me in on Friday (I was calling on a Tuesday). Not happening. I found this place (and yet again, Yelp saves the day!) and since it was less than 2 miles away (I was carless), I decided to walk from the hotel. While the walk wasn't exactly scenic, the salon itself was fine, pretty typical, and only one other customer. They did a great job on my nails, the shellac lasted nearly three weeks, which is probably the longest I've ever had shellac last. The pricing was very reasonable as well. It wasn't the most beautiful place, so I would prefer to give 3.5 stars, but since they did such a great job on my nails and saved the day, I'm giving them 4. read more

I went in for acrylic fills. we had an appointment for 2 and we started at 2:45! I really liked my nails at first but then they painted them! they made them look super clumpy, weird and i'm definitely going to have to repaint them. also when my friends was getting hers done the girl was being really harsh with her nails and ended up cutting her. she started bleeding i saw her wincing in pain! for about an hour after my nails kept getting weird and wrinkling up! i don't know if they are using a weird top coat or something but they are not good. i don't think i will ever go back! read more

I had them put the powder dip on my nails. I had an engagement photo shoot the next day and graduation that weekend so I wanted long lasting nails that didn't chip and decided to pay the extra money for it. The day after my nails were done, one nail was broken. (I work at a desk job) I had to get it fixed. Within the next three days, ALL of my nails had popped off besides the one that was recently fixed. I went to a new salon and they were shocked at how fast they came off. The new salon did my nails and they have been on for two and a half weeks so far with zero issues. The people are nice and the place is clean but the quality is horrible. read more

I had a really bad experience with a nail tech who was unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable - he was speaking poorly about another customer he had dealt with previously that day. Not mention I STILL have paint all over my fingers and my whole nail isn't even covered with paint! The nail tech literally said to me "Do you like it? Too bad if you don't." Our nail tech's did a wonderful job and yes, the staff did talk amongst themselves in their native language but it was a friendly atmosphere and it appears they all work well together. So nail arts is a sister company of envy nail, nail arts isn't as good as envy nail. The woman running the place is highly organized but has trouble communicating with guests and staff. People who arrived after me were seen before me and so on and so forth. My nails were $43 bucks, I just had polish and a 10 second manicure. It wasn't worth the extra for the manicure. Whatever. My gel polish was already chipped the next day, which is upsetting. I am on the fence about returning to nail arts. But I'd probably go back to envy nail. read more

HORRIBLE!!!!!! STAY AWAY! My sister and I went in to get manicures for her wedding. The lady that did mine was extremely rude and was hitting me hard with the buffer. She was really rough and very unkind. When we were finished, my nails looked like absolute crap. My middle finger was bumpy and going upward. The shape looked like something a 5 y/o did and the ombre looked like I accidentally got paint on them. And, they never did any cuticles or anything like that. We went back the next day (before the wedding) and tried to get them fixed or get a refund and they refused and were SO RUDE again!! My sister and I both had to pay to get them completely redone because they were so horrific!! Their prices are crazy high for how horrible their work is!! Especially since they claimed to use the same color on my hands and feet and they totally weren't. The quality of work was equally poor-- chipping days after.
