Stopped in here for a quick lunch the other day because the line at a nearby restaurant was way too long. The process of getting your meal is similar to Chipotle, you either pick a bowl or a pita. I went with a bowl. Then you pick your meat, I went with chicken shawarma and my coworker went with the falafel. I believe gyro was also an option! I have been a long time consumer of the delicious Hummus bowl that is served at Nat Naf. I love it's wholesome and savory taste. What I do not love are the small portions at this restaurant as compared to the one at the Mall of America. It is almost half the size. bummer. read more

Having lived (and eaten) in Israel for about 5 years, and having survived on felafel during my student years, I can post this as an expert. I was a bit suspicious of a generic looking orange and white plastic restaurant serving what I used to order at Felafel Ovadiah, a 15'x8' tin shack on Derech Bet Lehem in Jerusalem. The antiseptic appearance was mitigated by the friendly greeting from the salesperson (manager?) behind the counter. She asked me if I was familiar with Middle Eastern food. When I explained I was a world-renowned international expert, she asked me if I might be checking the Naf Naf out. I fessed up that I was. She asked me for a full report when I had finished. I ordered hummus (and pronounced it correctly: KHOOmoos) and a chopped salad (correctly called an Arabic salad). I got a pita, (never say "pita bread"), some takhina and some kharif, or skhoog. This is my report to the nice lady behind the counter: My homemade hummus is a tiny bit tastier that Naf Naf's, but theirs has the perfect texture. It tastes nothing like any of the brands in the supermarket. The chopped salad was fresh and zippy. The takhina sauce could have used more takhina, but that's a quibble. The skhoog was deep, flavorful and appropriately fiery. The felafel were crisp, fresh and almost as good as Ovadiah's, which are the best in Jerusalem. The pita was perfection. It was so good, you could make a meal of it plain. It makes store-bought pita taste like sawdust. The restaurant felt clean (even sterile), and I actually liked the music. I had ordered my meal on the Naf Naf app, and that worked fine. I'll be back! read more

I love naf naf, but I hate this location. Staff is super unfriendly and they are just standing around. Place was dirty when my husband and I went and the staff looked like the would rather be anywhere else in the world. Was very disappointed since I love naf naf and live close to this location. read more

Only reason I'm reviewing this particular branch is because the bowl (chicken shawarma) Ibordered left me feeling sad. So yesterday, I tried Nafnaf for the first time at the MOA location. I ordered to go and the aroma of the food can be smelled thru the take out bag. It smelled a lot like garlic (chose the garlic dressing), and I was very pleasantly surprised how flavorful the food was. So living nearer the Eagan location, I convinced my husband to go there again so he can try it for himself. I ordered (to go) the same chicken shawarma bowl (exact same with my order from MOA). So no aroma in the car on our way home. And NO FLAVOR. the garlic dressing tasted like plain mayonnaise Chicken was bland. I'm just so disappointed as I was really looking forward to it. We came in to a dead restaurant, yet they were out of falafel so we had to wait while they made more. No apologies. Also as one of the employees was cutting open a pita (with some difficulty) he said loudly to another employee "these are pretty old, huh". Ummmm, ok?? I should have left then and there. After we received our food, my husband and I noticed there was inappropriate and explicit music playing loudly over the speakers...it seemed like maybe the employees had put their own music on since the place weren't busy or something. As we were eating, one of the employees came out from behind the counter and was speaking to another employee on break, and their conversation was loud and filled with swear words and inappropriate subject matter. Just really unpleasant ambiance. I know it's fast food, but the total disregard that we were even sitting there was extremely rude. Was there even a manager on duty? I'm hoping corporate reads these so that they can correct the problem. As it stands, we will not be back. read more

Stopped in for lunch today. The staff was not pushy about getting my order and actually lent many suggestions in a very friendly way. The staff was energetic and welcoming.. very pleasant experience. I had a bowl based on a very light hummus with marinated purple cabbage, a salad of cucumbers and tomatoes, middle eastern spiced chicken, and a mango sauce. I also ordered a cup of lentil soup which they suggested I try with a green hot sauce. Included was a fresh, warm naan bread. The bowl was fragrant and fresh, with wonderful crunchiness from the cabbage combined with the smoothness of the hummus. Seasonings were not overwhelming, but very pleasant.. while the lentil soup was good as served.. the hot sauce was a brilliant addition. Naf Naf Grill is an excellent addition to a nice selection of restaurants in the Central Commons Shopping Center. read more

7. There wasnt the best distribution of ingredients in the pita. My chopped salad, sauce and chicken were a bit spread out. Going down was a good experience, not too sticky or dry. I think the sauce really brought out the unique flavor tones in their in-store "homemade" pita bread. read more

I have been to the Eagan location on three occasions and won't be returning after today. Compared to the downtown location they are a big disappointment. I agree with another reviewer, the portions are much skimpier and they are unorganized. On all three occasions they have had customers waiting because they have run out of food items which doesn't make sense because they seem to be fully staffed and have staff kind of standing around. read more

Disappointing. The couscous was sticking together in hard lumps, the steak had fat chunks/gristle on it, the portions for the bowls aren't very large and the hummus (which we paid $1.50 extra for) was a tiny little blob. I should have known that quality wasn't going to be top notch for this chain when the restaurant didn't open on time (3-4 months late) and their grand opening day, they closed at 3:00. (WTF?) We will be driving all the way back to the Mall of America for our Naf Naf cravings... quality, portion size and management there is much better. read more
