You MUST get the combo and you MUST get the tahini sauce. The fries are perfectly crispy and I could eat the tahini sauce by the spoonful. My friend swears by the garlic sauce, so it's safe to say you can't go wrong with either. The hummus plate and falafel were good. The falafel is definitely a solid vegetarian option. Parking isn't great because it's Dinkytown, but the food is 100000% worth the potential parking frustration. The staff is kind and the space is beautifully decorated. You order at a kiosk in the front, then get a number, seat yourself, and they bring the food out to you. I have been a few times during Ramadan and it gets absolutely packed. So prepare for understandably longer wait times if you go then.

Not sure I'll be coming back after this experience…read more I've been going to Wally's for years, back when it was still a small local spot. Through a Palestinian friend who knows the owner, I even met her back when the restaurant was much smaller. I've also been ordering the chicken musahab since it first became a menu item a couple of years ago, and have always liked it. I've recommended this place to friends and family, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I ordered the chicken musahab and after just a couple of bites I couldn't eat it. The chicken was extremely spicy in a way that was completely different from what I've had here before. I usually have no issue with spice, but this was genuinely inedible for me. My lips and stomach were on fire. I brought it back up and explained the issue. I was told that other customers have complained about the same thing before, but management does not issue refunds. There was no replacement, store credit, or any alternative offered. What stood out most is that this seems to be a known issue, yet there's still no effort to make it right when it happens. I ended up paying around $40 total and wasn't even offered the lentil soup that's typically included with orders over $15. I wasn't looking for anything extra -- just some basic acknowledgment that I couldn't eat the meal at all. I rarely send food back, but this was one of those times I had no choice. I left without eating my meal and pretty disappointed. Just sharing in case others have had the same issue or are thinking about ordering the chicken musahab.

Our food was tasty, quickly and friendly we were served and ample portions with great taste. Shopping was difficult as there was so much I wanted more than I came for. I also appreciated the variety of people eating, shopping and having fun in making myriad choices of food to eat, buy and take home. Such a fun place which I highly recommend and I have been shopping here for decades!

The grocery store has many different foods from around the world and for a little while I was trying different breads from different regions. The bread section is one whole corner and is fun to try all the different varieties. The restaurant side you order food at the cashier and then sit at a table. So there really isn't much service here. The food consistency has not always been the same. Sometimes it's just ok but other times it has been amazing which is why it's getting 4 stars instead of 5 stars. Overall it's a good choice but I do mostly take away for the food. My favorite is the chicken lovers combo. Also note there is a large parking lot in back rather than trying to find street parking but I usually only go here if I am going to the grocery store. If I just want food from the restaurant I just do a delivery service or a quick pickup.
