Spicy Original Gyros
Raj D.

I've been going to Dino's a really long time. It's usually been a good experience even if it's not anything like a Greek restaurant. Today was a revisit of the first Dino's I went to back in 2007. It was pleasant back then. Today the service was good. However the two gyros I ordered were less than expected. I ordered an original (kids size) for my daughter. Also a spicy for myself. Madison didn't eat hers after a few bites. She ate at the Edina location not long ago so I tried it. It tasted off. Like there was an oil that was used in there. Cross between French fries and gyros? Not sure. I ordered a spicy Gyros for myself. I should have gotten the regular and put Sriracha or crushed red peppers. What I got was feta cheese in something that looked and tasted like thousand island dressing. It was not anything I would ever touch again. Maybe I'll stick w chicken gyros here on out and see.

Greek Salad with Chicken Gyro, with side of Classic Gyro.

Door Dashed the food. Very fresh veggies were the highlight of the meal. Light portion sizes of meat. Even the side portion of gyro was small for over $7. All and all it was a great Greek salad, meat was delicious, the pita was fluffy and fresh, but the tzatziki needs some work. Basically just Greek yogurt. Needs some garlic or rosemary... 8/10

Food 5/5 - Food was fresh and delicious as always. The Greek chicken salad and Gyro plate is a go to! Service / Ambiance 4/5 - The inside is clean and well kept. Employees were polite. We got out food within 5 minutes of ordering.

Salad with gyro meat.

Service earned Dino's the 4th star. If they lower their prices maybe they'll get another star. I went for a salad with gyro meat. I had this plan of eating somewhat healthy so I was avoiding the sandwich, I didn't want the extra carbs. Then I ordered the seasoned fries on the side. Then the salad came with pita bread, so then I made mini gyros. GAAAHHH! Diet fail. The salad was good, lettuce and toppings were fresh as they should be. I didn't care for the Greek dressing much, just had a strange seasoning on my palate. The gyro meat didn't blow me away either, but did it's job. The cucumber sauce was fairly thick, which I enjoyed, it felt hearty. Dem seasoned fries were delicious. I love that they offer Sriracha, I mixed that with ketchup and went to town on the fries. The woman that took our order was so sweet. She came by to check on us, and was so smiley and friendly. A different person brought our food to us and he was super helpful as well. I eyeballed some falafel balls of goodness. I'll have to check those out next time.

Choose your line, order it up as is or custom, and grab your soda/chips to make it a meal and you are set! On my latest visit, I had the Old Fashioned, which was perfect! The truck itself has some pretty cool graphics on it. I ordered the buongiorno which came with fries and I added on a old bay coleslaw because let's be honest who can say no to old bay on anything? They called my name and when I picked up my sandwich I couldn't believe the size of it vs. the price. The bread was fresh and buttery soft, meats/toppings top tier and the flavors were on point. I love a good creative version of an Italian Sub! The coleslaw was good and the seasoning was there but, I would have liked it to have a little more creaminess to it since it was a bit dry. The fries were also good and had a taste to them that I couldn't quite place seasoning wise but, it was delicious. If you spot this truck I'd run over and grab some food!

Today, I ordered the Turkey club and the Sandwich of the Week, the La Tur, which had a cow, goat and sheep milk cheese with blueberry honey jam, greens and bacon. It was good, but don't get this sandwich unless you like cheeses that REALLY have that sheep flavor! There are a few small tables for 2 tucked inside by the register, and a couple of small tables outside in nice weather, but this is really more of a grab'n go place. Despite having so much cheese, it wasn't a super heavy meal. More of a take out place. There's a couple tables outside to eat but it was also really windy and hot the day I went so I ate pretty quickly.

The staff and the chef are extremely kind and welcoming. You can tell a lot of thought and love go into the making of this food. The menu is quite a bit smaller than I expected when I first came, but everything on the menu is a smashing success. I've only heard good things about this restaurant and it definitely lives up to the name. I actually ended up recommending this spot to too many friends, coworkers, and family members, I also came here on Mother's Day with my parents and they absolutely loved it. As far as food, I have tried the cream cheese wontons, the chicken sandwich (popular), the sticky jicama ribs (insanely good), and the rice noodle salad dish. Everything has been sensational thus far. The chicken sandwich has a really nice herbaceous aïoli, the sticky jicama ribs are absolutely incredible especially for anyone that is vegan or vegetarian, there are no meat products in this dish, but the flavor and texture would convince you of otherwise. It's hard to explain so I'm just telling you right now that you HAVE to try the sticky jicama ribs. This is not a drill. If you end with the Thai tea tres leches, you won't be disappointed. It is a classic tres leches with a twist, the Thai tea isn't as strong as traditional but goes perfectly with the other tres leches components. The presentation is unreal! Truly impressed by this restaurant, I will continue to come here and support this local establishment. Chef Eric Pham is so awesome to talk to, wishing them nothing but success!

The menu describes "Vietnamese roast pork," but what arrived tasted deep fried rather than roasted -- tough, flavorless, with unrendered fat that was still solid. Given the "lettuce wraps" framing, I'd expected something closer to ground pork; instead it was fatty slices that didn't match the description I envisioned. The thin rice noodles underneath were fine but plain and unseasoned, with scallions scattered over the noodles. The chicken sandwich was extremely greasy, and the heavy-handed sauce turned it into a soggy mess -- the bun fell apart almost immediately. It reminded me of Blue Barn's Nashville hot chicken (from the State Fair), but executed poorly. Maybe we came on an off night? Worth flagging: both dishes are listed as entrées but came without sides, and the menu only offers three appetizers. Depending on what you're in the mood for, it's hard to build a full, filling meal.
