It's official! Pita King is in the houuuussssee!!! Aka the Seward neighborhood. With a fresh coat of paint they are now ready for action. I was trying to figure out what to eat for dinner Friday night and remembered this gem that is now in its 5th month of operation. I walked the block and a half to order a chicken shawarma with fries and baklava. It took about 7-10 minutes waiting and then my to-go order was served. They have space for about 8-10 people but my dog was waiting at home soooo priorities. I opened up my box at home and found a delicious basket of perfectly crisp fries along with my nicely cut into two portions. If I hadn't been the ravenous person I was, I might have saved leftovers. The chicken was deliciously seasoned with a solid amount of tahini sauce (my fav). I didn't detect any cucumbers but there were tomatoes and lettuce included. It was sooooooo good. I ate it all and two pieces of the baklava which were deliciously prepared and had pistachios crumbled on top. For a girl who LOVES Holy Land, this is a nice spot to have so close by. My total order was around $11 but you can easily spend less by just getting the sandwich or pita. And with their late hours, it's good pre night out food as well. I can't wait to go back and try the falafel.

Back in the 80's this place was a ice cream location. So I just happen to stop in for a Philly Cheesesteak and fries, plus Baklava. Ummm Ummm everything was very good. I ordered mine to go and it just took a few minutes. I will definitely come back for more food here. I love the bread on my sandwich and the dessert was sooo delicious and filling. Only thing I wanted to add was a few hot peppers to my sandwich, which they didn't have. And the staff was super friendly with a smile.

This has to be the smallest kitchen in Minneapolis! You can see the Pita King chef doing his creating in this old ice cream stand location. There's Pita King parking by the building, if you can't find a spot on the street. The gyro was huge! And tasty, too! The space is very limited so you will want your order to go & find a nice picnic spot to enjoy it!

Mmmm all these hot wings and fries for only $6.99!! I love this corner joint!

Huge portions for only $6.99! I got the gyro with fries and I can definitely share it with my fiancé. Delicious and right around the corner from our apartment. Will be going back for sure. The owner and his son we pleasant. I'm happy!

This is my second time here at this unpretentious stand (at the site of the old Franklin Freeze which reopened in partnership with Pita King). The food is ample and delicious served cheerfully and quickly by Louie and his family (Palestinians who were living in Jordan I believe). The gyros were juicy and flavorful as were the falafel. The falafel sandwich is my current favorite. I hate dried out falafel. These were moist and filled up the pita roll well. Even the fries were tasty and flavorful. There are picnic tables and ample parking. Plus, you can get an ice cream for dessert (if you have room!)

Perhaps it is because I requested a window seat when I made the reservation. It was very pleasant. This visit was on February 21, 2026, less than a month since Alex Pertti was shot and killed by ICE, only half a block from the restaurant. I was glad to see the restaurant was filled, even very early on a Saturday night. The waitress was friendly and very competent. The humas was as usual, wonderful: creamy and tasty. My wife ordered the appetizer version of the Spanakopita, which was enough for her to consider it a entree, along with a soup. I had the dinner special of broiled Atlantic Salmon with white wine and butter sauce. It was served with asparagus and rice pilaf. This is something that I had never tried at Christos and it was excellent. It also came with a house salad, which was also very good. The total, with one glass of wine, was $70.88 plus tip. One question: Why do the nightly specials never change?

I go there for the delicious Middle Eastern food, which, for a buffet, is amazingly fresh and tasty. It helps, of course, that the buffet is replenished frequently. It includes a wide variety of salads, hummus, pita, soup, protein, and desserts--and it's all delicious! If you have not been to the family-owned Mediterranean Cruise, the building itself is surprisingly large and impressive. It features a 25-foot or higher ceiling, a private dining area, and even space for belly dancing presentations. While Mediterranean Cruise offers Mezas, soups, salads, rice and hummus bowls, sandwiches, and more off the menu, you must try the buffet to truly appreciate the breadth of their offerings. Highly recommended.

I have pretty high standards for Greek/Mediterranean food, and it just doesn't stand out anymore. The pita has been dry, although the hummus is still solid. The platters are fine overall, but nothing particularly memorable. Service has also been a bit underwhelming recently compared to past visits. That said, the atmosphere is still a highlight. The space feels very authentic with all the decor, and the belly dancers are always a fun touch. The patio is also nice if you're able to sit outside. Parking can be a little tight in their lot, but there's a ramp nearby which makes it easier.
