I ordered the falafel wrap for myself and chicken shawarma for my daughter. The falafel wrap was the best I've ever had in my life. The chicken was good ( I'm vegan I will never know) from what my daughter said. However, when she tasted the crumbs of my falafel wrap her eyes lit up and said I should have gotten two falafel wraps. One thing I've noticed since moving to MN is that it's fairly difficult to find a GOOD gyro and shawarma place. Thankfully, Shawarmin Grill has exactly what you need. This is a no frills restaurant with an assortment of different Middle Eastern dishes. I got the classic gyro and chicken shawarma which they gave quite a bit. Did a random Yelp search for restaurants for lunch, and we decided to try this one. It is very clean inside and with plenty of seating. The individual taking orders was somewhat rude but later interaction with her was better. The other staff members were pleasant. We asked what was included in the sandwich combos, we were told it was fries and fountain drink but then said they were almost out of fries and the soda fountain was not working. We ordered the chicken and beef Shawarma sandwiches. The chicken had excellent flavor and was delicious. The beef had a good flavor but was a bit stringy. Several desserts on the menu sounded good, so we wanted to try a couple of those, but they were out of the mediterranean style desserts and only had Cheesecake (we chose to skip the dessert). Found the location super easily as it Right off the highway in a fairly busy and decent size business complex with lots of other small and large spots. The prices are fair. The selection is decent. The customer service was friendly and hospitable. The chicken sharwarma, kebab plate, fries and baklava that we ordered were really good. The meat was perfectly done. The fries were very addicting, as it seemed that they batter them before frying. It seemed to be a family business run by a father and son. The food is made in front of you, so you exactly know what's going in there, they have an open kitchen kid of deal. The only reason why taking a star off is cause the fountain machine looked like it had seen better days and looking at it, you could not guess how long ago was the machine cleaned. Ordered the cheesesteak sandwich and it was chopped up ground beef; not flavor or spices. Some ground beef pieces were very tiny and others were clumped together. Some were very well done/ burnt. There was a minuscule piece of white cheese on the dry meat, but I don't think it was provolone. The bun was " paninied" and wasn't buttered and it didn't have any garlic seasoning either. East Side has a new hot spot! I've driven by a few times, but hadn't stopped into Shawarmin Grill until today. I'm so glad I did! The menu has lots of options for dietary restrictions. I got a "build your own bowl" with rice to make it Gluten Free. The gyro meat was tender and super flavorful. The toppings all looked really fresh and good. Best part was the garlic sauce! It was so delicious and creamy and tasty. My husband got the Arabi Shawarma Plate with fries and was raving about it. The prices seem a little high, but you do get a ton of food for your money. Probably one of the best pieces of chicken i ever ate!! It was seasoned to perfection and idk how they do it, but it tasted like it was on a charcoal grill. Some really solid food. I like their Chicken shawarma wrap and their fries are excellent. They have a variety of desserts to choose from as well including a biscoff milk cake. The person taking our order was very friendly and gave great service in terms of helping me order since it was my first time. Shawarmin Grill ticks a lot of the boxes for me: really good food made by local folks, generous portions, reasonable prices, atmosphere unimportant. The reason for my less-than-stellar rating is that I ordered online for pickup about an hour later, and when I got there, they had no record of it. To be fair, I got an automated acknowledgment of my order telling me that they would follow up with a confirmation. I hadn't received said confirmation before I left...but it was a long drive and I wasn't able to check my phone while driving. When I arrived and they didn't have my order ready, I showed they guy the automated message and his answer was the equivalent of, "You didn't get a confirmation so too bad." To their credit, I asked them what the quickest thing was to prepare and they threw together a chicken shawarma wrap with fries and some falafel. The falafel was supposed to have eggplant but they were out, and they didn't include the tahini sauce that was supposed to go with it. So I give a qualified thumbs-up: If you go there or talk to someone on the phone to give your order, you'll probably get what you want. And when you do, it'll be really good. read more

We placed an order for pickup. The online menu provides almost no information about what each of the items really consists of. Unfortunately, as it turned out, no pita bread was supplied with the dips we got, but there was no way to tell that would be the case, nor was there an option to order pita bread as a side. What restaurant sells hummus w/o pita bread to go with it? The food was OK, but really overpriced for counter service. We got 4 appetizers (baba ghanoush, falafel, dolmades, and hummus with some beef shawarma on it), which, with a tip, came to just under $50. Again--nothing accompanied the dips to actually dip in them, so we had to supply our own stuff to complete the meal. The falafel was seriously overdone. The whole experience was really negative. I had a very hard time getting anyone's attention when I went to pick up the order--stood around for several minutes in an almost-empty restaurant being ignored before someone came and just pointed to a spot for pickup that was not visible from the main counter. So we won't be going back. This was very disappointing, as we were hoping to have found a new source for gyros, etc. in our area. read more

Lunch on a Tuesday was really bad. No real Gyro meat, so I got a beef Gyro. It was super dry, had a funky taste and bad smell. I had 4 bites and couldn't do it. The fries where good, but that's it. Gyropolis in Bloomington has outstanding Gyros and they often have a line out the front door, this was dog food by comparison, seriously, it was that bad. The girl taking orders had enough pins in her face to set off a metal detector and could have cared less about taking pride in her job. As customers, we were an after thought. I wish I had snapped a picture, it would have been titled dry funky burrito. Maybe they were having a really bad day, but I can't reconcile my experience with the high ratings. My friend got the same and concluded the same. I literally threw away a $12 lunch. I went home and ate an entire box of strawberries to get the taste out of my mouth. I placed an Uber eats order for the Supermix Platter. The description said that it would include three different Skewers including lamb,chicken, and kofta with an additional lamb chop. Also including salad and pita bread. Additionally I elected to receive utensils when checking out. The order came up to $25 and totaled $40 after other fees and a tip. When the Order arrived I was missing the utensils, pita bread and the lamb skewer (The most expensive part of meal.) I called back to let them know that I was not happy and was told that I could come in and pick up the pita bread, however that would defeat the purpose of ordering delivery so I declined. I was also told that they were out of lamb meat so they just put in an extra skewer of chicken. This is unacceptable, they did not try to notify me for a substitute meat, I did not want a load of chicken I wanted lamb and that's what I paid for. They didn't even offer to refund anything, just said hopefully next time they will have lamb. I won't be ordering from there again. read more
