But entrees are pretty much pasta or pizza. Still... the pasta is obviously made from scratch, and that's not something I expected in Bastrop, so I'm very pleased. I have not tried the pizza. It looked good. But in my next visit I'll try the pasta that's served in a cheese rind. And the time after that I'm probably reorder exactly what I tried last night, which is the Cannelloni Funghi - three amazing tubes of fresh pasta, stuffed with Italian cheese and a bit of veal mince, and topped with a mushroom cream sauce and a liberal amount of shaved parmesan cheese. So rich and velvety and flavorful! Yes, they offer fresh ground black pepper :-) I had what the waiter described at "spumoni" but it was not spumoni ice cream - it was what he described as an "adult milkshake" with a chocolate liqueur and brandy. It was really tastey. They say they have "chocolate chip gelato" lol. But don't get fooled, it's authentic Italian stracciatella! That's so iconic in Italy. It's really sad that the waiter called it "chocolate chip." Hardly does it justice, as you'd know if you've tried it. Their $15 cocktails are really good. But who puts Jim Beam in a Manhattan, Negroni or an Old Fashion? One of the drinks had Templeton Rye, which was an infinitely better choice. I mean... Jim Beam? Really? I should have taken a star off for that... especially at that price. But... dang, that cannelloni was good!

It's New York style- thin crust, cranked out fresh, hot and fast, by the slice or the whole pie. Order at the window- they have a full pizza menu, but a handful for slices for cowboys on the move. It's prolly one of the cheaper places on SoCo to get your grub on, and the people watching here is pretty far out. The best spots to eat at are under the umbrellas out front, facing South Congress Street. You won't wait long for a slice. Check out the Brooklyn mural inside. My favorite thing about this place, other than this pizza, is the Willie Nelson mural. The toppings are about what you'd expect- the pepperoni is not heaped like a meatlover's pizza or something obnoxious- more thoughtfully and tastefully placed. There aren't strange flavors like sheep's cheese and apple, like you might expect to find on some Austin pizzas. Instead, it's just margherita, cheese, pepperoni for the to go. (I think...)

We walked in looked at the menu on the counter and then placed our order and paid. We were given a number and then went to find seating. After sitting we waited for a while as they started making our pizzas. We ordered two orders of Mozzarella Facaccia Sticks to share. One order with cheese and one without cheese. They were both warm and soft. I preferred the sticks with cheese. One of my adult sons got a Classic Pepperoni Pizza and he enjoyed it. My other son got the Bacon Double Cheeseburger Pizza and he also enjoyed it. My husband ordered the BBQ Grilled Chicken Pizza. I tried it and it was tasty. The pieces of chicken were large and I liked the BBQ sauce flavor. It had a sweetness to it. I ordered a Ground Control Pizza which had pepperoni, sausage, red onion, green peppers, mushrooms, ham, black olives, and ground beef. I ordered my pizza without the ground beef. My pizza was tasty. It had different flavors and textures. The pepperoni, ham and sausage meats were good. The crust was doughy which I liked. It was a good pizza. Lastly we shared a Cinnamon Dessert. Which is a cinnamon bread with icing. It was delicious. The bread was warm and doughy and you could taste the cinnamon. The icing added that extra sweet element to it. It was so good. The perfect ending to our meal. Overall Aviator Pizza had a good selection of food. The counter service where you order was easy and fast for us. The delivery of the food to our table was pleasant and the pizza was good.

Their pizzas seem smaller and now cost more. They're still decent, but it's getting harder to justify going. Their side salads are now $8 which is insane considering the size. You see what I'm getting at? There's a ton of options and Aviator seriously needs to up its game.

I came in and grabbed a beer at the bar and worked on my laptop while I waited for my buddy to join. Even though it was a busy week night, there was still plenty of seating. Every single employee is incredibly friendly and seems like they truly care about the work they do. We ordered a pizza, salad, and Italian sub. The pizza and salad were fantastic as always. We waited maybe 20 minutes to order then another 45 minutes for food, which wasn't that bad for a busy Friday night. We were crowded outside, and we didn't really have enough table or chair space. That's to be expected when we descended upon the restaurant with such a large group. For six people, we ordered three pizzas to share. We definitely could have shared with more people because we had some pizza left over. We got The Works, Shroomin' Goat, and Texas Chicken Ranch pizzas. The Texas Chicken Ranch was by far our favourite. It was really good, while the other two were alright. The crust was weirdly bubbly and amorphous looking. There was a lot of crust. The Works was okay. The sauce and meat weren't particularly tasty. The Shroomin' Goat was a vegetarian pizza with a lot of arugula, which is not my type of pizza, but our vegetarian friend said it was okay. Great vibes at Pinthouse overall though, and I have enjoyed their other pizzas in the past.
