I finally got a chance to try Naan 'N Curry. Even though I live in Gwinnett County, I don't work there and I wanted to try their lunch buffet. I love Indian restaurants for having the buffet options to try their food too! Naan 'N Curry is located on the intersection of Breckinridge & Old Norcross behind Gwinnett Place Mall. My Desi friends call it the "Brown" plaza since there are a few other "brown" shops too like Chinese Dhaba (I've only been to the Global Mall location), Ruby's Beauty Center (also only been to the Global Mall location), and Asma's Cuisine (I'm curious to try next time). Naan 'N Curry also serves halal meat! Great news for those who only eats halal. Plus the buffet is only $7.99 during the weekdays. Walking in, I was a little surprised how casual the environment is. I wasn't greeted at all. I stood there for a few minutes and then asked how does this work? Do I sit myself? Do I go straight to buffet? A guy name Sunny (I heard others call him that), was standing by the buffet says for me to just get food and pick any table I want. So this place is also Styrofoam city. Many other Desi places are Styrofoam friendly. There were not as many choices to choose from compared to many other Desi restaurants I've been to. However, don't let that stop you. I'm glad I was able to try everything. I honestly did not pay attention to the names of the dishes I got because the line for the buffet was long and I just wanted to get what I did like to eat. Naan was also on the buffet and was the first item to be out quick! The flavors were on point and food was really good. The price is really good for what you pay for. We placed take out order and it was ready in no time. Two thumbs up for that. Food quality is a mix bag. Being vegetarian we had limited options to order from, so we ordered Aalu-saag (potato in spinach gravy), Paneer tikka masala, Veg Biryani and 3 types of naan/roti. The 2 curries were good in flavor and value for money. Like most Indian restaurant do not take Veg Biryani seriously and this place was no exception. They throw big pieces of veggies in rice, which should be called 'Fried rice with Veggies' and not Veg Biryani. Any who I have that beef with all Indian restaurants and hope one day things change. The naan bread definitely needs huge improvement. We ordered tandoor Rotis (whole wheat), Bullet Naan and simple naan. I arrived here at 9:05pm and they were closing at 9:30. The service was so amazing though we had no idea of the closing time until a guy (the owner I believe) came to ask if there was anything else we wanted because they were closing the kitchen. Before all of that! The owner was more than excited to help us figure out what to order, discovering each individuals person's preferences, sharing his ultimate favorites and getting us super excited to try the food. He consistently came to check on us and at 9:40 asked if we would like anything. I excitedly said more rice and instantly remembered the kitchen was closed. He simply said "No problem, I'll give you some of mine" and he returned with my plate of rice completely full. I ordered the paneer tikka masala, with rice, plain naan and garlic naan. As a vegetarian and huge carb lover. I fell in love with their rice and naan! The rice was beyond heavenly. My paneer tikka masala was more creamy and not spicy enough for my taste, But amazing with the naan and rice. The owner also brought us hot sauce to add if needed and even a green sauce to dip the naan in. He even came at one point curious as to how we were handling the spice and began to share that for him, he grew up eating beyond spicy food so what we ordered is considered bland to him. The service was meh. The guy took our orders and brought them to our tables. Everything is more or less self done: get your own water from the corner, the to-go boxes above the drinks, etc. An added bonus was that this place was halal, my Muslim friend was able to eat everything (which was great cause he ordered for us). Unfortunately I had the experience of eating at Nann & Curry and there was a roach in my food. As expensive as fuel is now to have to backtrack to take food back that is actually on safe to eat it's really sad. I suggest that you look at your food very carefully before eating it. And read the reviews because I read the reviews I would've known that roaches could possibly be in my food. I'm going to head over here for lunch and re-rate this place. For dinner, I'm a little torn. On one hand, the food was flavorful. Chicken marsala tasted goooood. Rice is different from what I'm used to (more long and little substance sort of rice), but still good with the chicken marsala. The naan bread is the best. The garlic just oozes with every bite. Goat curry = pass. All bones and not enough meat. Service was nice. You basically order in the front and they bring it out. I was tired of the typical fried fast food and mentioned to the wife I had a taste for Indian food. Normally you have to drive to Atlanta or Alpharetta for good Indian food. It's been 3 days and i only drink warm water and soup. I will never come here again. Today's experience was impromptu but well worth it. We walked in right after the buffet was over but were fine with ordering from the regular menu. There were quiet a few vegetarian options and I asked if they could be made vegan. The hostess I don't think understood what I was asking but she said they were already vegan although I saw a few had cheese or yogurt. I ordered the vegetable biryani, garlic naan, and the vegetable samosas. Everything was good, but the naan takes the cake. I absolutely loved it and ate most of it in one sitting. I went to Naan N Curry for the first time today after moving to Lawrenceville. I ordered Chicken Biryani to go, the amount of Biryani was good (2 person can eat easily) as compare to the price you pay ($7). The place look clean and there were some customers inside for dine in. Taste of Biryani was good (not out of this world or like the one we use to eat in Karachi). They have raita and salad which is good, the only thing I noticed is some of the rice are from bottom of the pan (the person cooking it over cooked it) which should not be give n out to customer. I work right around the corner from this Nan N Curry location so I wanted to try this place out. Also, my co worker recommend this place to me. I went on a Sunday night and they were pretty busy. It's a self order place and they bring it out to you. The sign on the wall says anything grilled or fried takes 20 minutes extra. I ordered the chicken masala since I know this was the most popular dish. My companion ordered the beef curry. We also ordered a garlic nan. It wasn't too long for the food to come out. Everything comes out in a very family style manner. The two dishes was in bowls and it was a very decent amount. I loved the garlic nan dipped with the chicken masala. The sauce was good and spiced right. Wasn't too spicy :)! The chicken chunks in the chicken masala I wasn't a fan of. When I took a bite out of one of them, I can see that it was red on the outside and white meat on the inside. The spices was too sour for my taste. So I end up just dipping the garlic nan with the chicken masala sauce. The beef curries that my friend ordered was a okay. Probably the worst Indian food experience I had in Atlanta. The chicken Korma was super oily, to the point where it looked like my plate was soaked in oil. I really like the simplicity of this place. It is very casual. You come in and get your own plate and eat immediately. You can order a drink also if you want. There is decent variety and good flavors. I just love naan! I've been here twice for quick lunches and it is the perfect place for that. You can get in an out quick with no fuss or waiting.
