Came here as a recommendation from friends. This is part of a large plaza so plenty of parking spots to pick from. It's order and the front and grab a table style. There's the option of ordering at the cash register or at their electronic kiosk. I got their beef Kababs and garlic naan while my friends tried their tika masala paneer, saffron rice, and samosas. The naans were soft and chewy, perfect for dipping into the many sauces. Tika masala was a hit as always and the chicken 65 had a subtle kick to it. However, I found the beef to be incredibly dry. Overall, we had a good experience with kind staff. It's very much a family owned establishment so I would recommend coming to support them!

This was our first time at Shalimar Kabob house. The ambience is much better than other restaurants in this category. The food was very delicious and flavorful. This is now my first choice for Indian/Pakistani restaurants in Atlanta area. Karahi chicken is out of this world! You have to first pay for your order the get your table to dine in. Chicken biryani, goat palak, aloo palak and tandoori chicken were all tasty!

Shalimar is something my girlfriend described as "elevated fast-food" and I'd have to agree with her sentiment. You're greeted with patience and kindness as you enter and approach the counter while deciding what to order. There's a plethora of options to choose from ranging from your expected north Indian dishes to kabobs, etc. There's seemingly something for everyone. We each ordered the paneer tikka masala (mine was noted to be spicy) and orders of garlic and bullet naan. The food was fantastic - I think the paneer tikka at Shalimar has ascended to the number 1 spot on my list - beating out Cafe Bombay, Madras Chetinaad, and all of the other "staple" spots to go. The dish was immensely flavorful, the paneer pieces were large and legitimately perfect versus other places that skimp out on the portions and ratios. Without asking, they also provided a platter of garnishes/add-ons. This included lemons, onions, fresh jalapeno slices, red cabbage, and chutneys. The naan was fluffy and crispy in different spots and was seasoned well. We were very happy with the food. One order of naan is enough for an individual. Two is overkill. Quite literally the only cons I had were foam cups (this was odd as everything else was of restaurant quality like silverware, ceramic, etc). The other con - and this was a big one - was that the you have to pay for rice accompaniment whereas you generally get rice alongside curry orders at other restaurants. Putting the nit-picky flaws aside, we genuinely would like to make this a staple spot for us to repeatedly return to. If you're looking for a nicer ambience, go elsewhere. If you're looking for top tier food, add this spot to the top of your list.

Tonight i tried a new place on uber eats and let me tell you i believe this is the absolute best butter chicken i have had. I got it spicy and it had just the perfect amount. The flavor was amazing, i devoured my meal and cannot wait to order from here again.

This is a no frills place, however cost and taste of the meal make it a go-to now for us. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Marsala which was delicious and came out steaming hot, always a plus. The garlic nan was a great addition to our meal as we dipped it into the sauce of our chicken. Unfortunately, they didn't have lamb which is what we usually opt for but that didn't have much of an impact once we ordered our food. They have quite a few options and seem to post specials as well so that's worth checking out. When we got there the special was a curried goat. We ordered some vegetable samosas, and the taste was there but it wasn't the best we had so might try the chicken ones next time. The ambiance is ehh okay, they have cafeteria style tables/ benches and it looks like at one point it might of had a buffet (which I'm pretty sure went away during COVID times). I did mention it was a no frills, so go for the food and the price!

When first walking in, it smelled amazing. I ordered the vegetable samosas, butter chicken w/ garlic butter naan & mango lassi. The butter chicken was soooo good. I placed my order through the website so I thought it would've came with rice but I guess not. The naan was soft & flavorful. The vegetable samosas weren't bad but wasn't the taste I thought it'd be. I can't believe I didn't know about this place sooner. I'll be returning.

I'll be back. Delicious food. Excellent service. Everyone was kind, patient and helpful. I wanted to try some of everything as you can see from the photos I did. The naan was some of the best I ever had. I would return for that alone. Food came out hot, seasoned well and generous portions for the price in my opinion. Love the hidden gem. My only knock would be the cleanliness of the tables. Several tables were dirty and left unattended when I came in and remained that way for quite some time as I sat to enjoy. A lot of people ordered to go but for us diners we had to search for a spot, even some who came in after me. However, this doesn't diminish the service to the table or the food at all. Some of the best fried chicken I've had in a while!

Food were good and great for sharing, see pics. Several naan options and sizzling plates! Kids meal can be the broast chicken (basically fried chicken and fries). Hot teas available like chai. Teas are served with stirrers and sugar so use as you please. Once warm, the chai tea with 2 tsps of sugar will taste like hot cocoa, although our palates differ. :P I only wish they don't serve hot drinks and food-to-go in styro. Hope they start using paper cups at least for hot drinks. Good for groups and ample parking available because it's near a grocery store. Would suggest they clean up the inside and remove furnitures and old displays that were placed in a corner, doesn't look nice for photo opps. Good customer service and open on Thanksgiving Day! *Heart*

The food here was AMAZING. So far we've tried the goat curry, basmati rice, garlic naan, biryani rice, and kabob sizzlers. All were well portioned, reasonably priced, and so fresh and flavorful and just delicious. Even the leftovers that I ate several days later remained tasty lol. My bf and I were just just chomping away, murmuring 'omg so good' the whole time lol. The employees we interacted with was super nice and attentive. I'm so glad we randomly found this place!!

Nice spice aroma swiftly linger in air as you enter the restaurant. Service is impeccable. The Chicken Kondattam is crispy chicken with lots of flavor. The Malabar shrimp biryani is top notch in taste with succulent shrimp. Will visit again to savor the other authentic dishes. The dishes are little pricier compared to other restaurants.

We asked several questions about the menu, including whether or not we could get a paneer tikka masala dish (It wasn't on the menu (at the time) but it was listed on their site). They obliged and were able to make it. However, the food took a good while to come out. We understand that the food is probably prepared fresh but we were waiting for quite a bit, to the point where the other two members of my party had made note of it as well. There were not many people there either since this was on a weeknight. The food, in my opinion was okay. Being Indian myself, I had more of a strict criteria compared to the other two members of my party, who both said the food was enjoyable. My girlfriend never asked for the food to be spicy as she can't handle spice and she struggled to get the eggplant curry down. Found some thai chili in there so that explains it. I however, asked it to be super spicy and it was very lackluster. The prices are a little more expensive than other alternatives and the amount of food was also a bit lacking as well. What you're paying for is more of a dine-in experience than the actual value of the food itself in my opinion. I'd be fine to come and try it again if others are searching for a sit-down Indian spot nearby but I wouldn't be the first to suggest it. Buffet prices are exorbitant - I wouldn't ever willingly come in to pay so much for a buffet where other alternatives are far cheaper. All in all, if you're looking for a new spot to check out and you love Indian food, you'll probably love the place. But the combination of the value, portion sizes, and a few inconsistencies left me wanting more.

I wanted to leave a hearty review for Shahi Grill simply because this place deserves it. I am a…read morefood critic at heart and have had my share of very tasty experiences. And whenever I try a new Indian place, I have high hopes that it will be a knockout. I will say - although their plastic serving utensils and dinnerware made us skeptical, seeing other Indo-Pak's dining there made us hopeful that we had possibly found a gem. Shahi Grill was a total surprise and I can't wait to share what we had! Chicken Samosas - Crunchy and flavorful. Gone in 60 seconds. Chicken Corn Soup - A bit too peppery for me, but it was still tasty. My Dad gobbled it up. Garlic Naan - Soft, flavorful, and the perfect chew. You get a good sized portion for the price too, so definitely order some for your meal. Butter Chicken - I was about to order the Tikki Masala, but the sweet lady taking our order told me that there's a "medium" spice level to it. Well, unfortunately, medium spice scares the ba-jesus out of me, so I went with her suggestion, the Butter Chicken. What a win! Not spicy at all, just TONS of flavor! My peeps thought that mine was the best of the 3 entrees. They scooped their Naan into the Butter Chicken sauce and moaned with every bite. There wasn't a drop left of it in the container. Open Fire Grill Chicken Boti - Cooked perfectly, delicious flavor, and so moist. My dad got this served over saffron rice. He loved it! Shahi Malai Chicken - This chicken was some of the most tender and flavorful chicken I've had in a whiiiiiiiiiiiiile. If I could beg the chef for this marinade recipe, I would....and I'd make it week after week. I think the flavor of this was my personal favorite. I'm still burping it up, and loving it. haha There's NO doubt that we'll be ordering from here again. So grateful this is right around the corner from us. This was the neighborhood gem we were looking for. THANK YOU to the chefs back there in the kitchen. Please add some vegetables to your menu if you're reading this, but other than that - don't change a thing! A++

The Chicken 65 never disappoints! The 3-order bundle was pretty fairly priced for the portion sizes.read more
