I have been coming here for a couple of years and I love the food. The portions are great for the price and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Today, I went in to get some food to take to work with me and when I entered the store, the cashier told me that their credit card system was down. We tried twice but sure enough nothing was going through. I offered to pay via cash app, Venmo, PayPal, etc. The store owner came in, gave me my food, said "thank you, we'll see you next time." Again I offered to pay somehow but he insisted. IMO, the mark of a good business is not how well they perform when things go as planned, but how well they recover when the unexpected happens. read more

I'm pretty addicted to the samosas and vegetable pakoras. They're never greasy or overly done. They have a good range of traditional dishes and I appreciate the amount of vegetarian options. One of the few places I've seen that carry the salt lassis. Definitely an acquired taste but really good if you're not in the mood for a sweet drink. We usually order our food to go and it's always ready pretty quickly even when the place is crowded. They pack the food well so you don't have to worry if your sauces are gonna fall out or your curry is going to leak everywhere during the drive home. read more

I was craving for some Indian food, so I stopped by here last month to try it out after reading the reviews on Yelp. I got the 2 item combo plate with chicken tikka and saag paneer( similar to creamed spinach but healthier). The food items I got were all good and tasty which also came with rice and choice of garlic naan. I did not find the garlic naan as "all that" compared to the other yelp reviews. The garlic naan was too light and airy with like a pasty texture. I guess I am just used to the plain and garlic naan that you can buy at the grocery store. I will go back and try the other main dishes on their menu next time. read more

This restaurant falls into the unfortunate "exotic restaurant" category for the Inland Empire. This category, especially in Yelp, suffers from ratings inflation. This typically means if there is one or two "exotic restaurants" in a city, they must be authentic and really good. Usually, though, they are just mediocre and nobody in the surrounding community knows what good cuisine for that "exotic" restaurant really is. Having lived in the Northwest where there is good Indian food, the Naan Café is actually pretty bad. Their curries are just passable but with nothing really to get me excited. Unfortunately, people in Redlands, having never experienced good Indian food, have been bamboozled by this place and the hype on Yelp by the "good" reviews into thinking this place is actually good. Phenomenal I like Curry in a Hurry but this place is a better deal by far. Majority of the menu is cheaper and you get much larger portions. It is located near the local Albertsons. Its a relatively small shop but as soon as you step in you can tell its an Indian restaurant. The menu and the specials are displayed on HD TVs. Its a nice touch and also allows for easy editing. The lamb curry is great, though a little boney. However it is very tender and flavorful. It took me a bit to notice the bones from how tender it was. The tandoori chicken is tender and has a mild but flavorful spice blend. The Chicken Tikki Masala is balance, having enough heat to get your sinuses going but not enough that you need a steady drink to deal with it. The dal is another great item to try. The garlic naan is simply amazing. The naan is made fresh to order. The menu has many vegetarian items that are worth trying. I will return here often. Tasty food. read more

I am Indian and this is some of the best Indian food I have ever had. I have been there twice and each time I have tried something different. The first time I went, I tried a few of the dishes. Although I am non-vegetarian, I personally have liked the vegetarian dishes better. The aloo gobi was so tasty and I absolutely loved the saag paneer. On the same note, the samosas are amazing. I'm not quite sure what they put in the potato filling but they are addicting. I took a bunch home. I ate them so fast that they didn't even last until the next day. The second time I went, I tried the paneer wrap. The cafe uses these wraps that unlike a burrito, don't fall apart if stuffed. I could only get through half of one of the halfs, it was so full. The spiciness was so great. It was like eating a fajita paneer wrap. I took the second half home so I could eat later. The wrap was so filling. In terms of the ambience, it was a very friendly relaxed atmosphere. What I haven't seen before is the type of setup the cafe had. Most Indian restaurants are one item order at a time only or buffett/restaurant style. This was setup almost like a fast-food Chinese place. Everything was ready to go and you could order a one or two item combo. It gives you a chance to try several different dishes every time. The whole place was really clean. I have been to some fast food Indian places and they are horrible in terms of the way it looks. I don't even feel comfortable eating there. One of the other things that stood out to me is the artwork on the wall. You don't usually see artwork that professional or beautiful in a cafe. The painting with the Indian bride was absolutely gorgeous. The last thing I really liked were the menus on the screen. It gave a professional look to the whole cafe. I'm like an Indian food addict. But Naan Cafe is totally worth it. This is casual Indian food where you order at the register, you sit down, then they bring out your food. As opposed to the sit down restaurant with a waiter and cloth napkins. I hate cloth napkins; they're not absorbent enough. I want a paper napkin. Naan Cafe is right up my alley. I'm mesmerized by their television that displays the health benefits and recipes of Indian food. Now I know how to make mango lassi and that turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory. I usually go for the two item lunch combo. It comes with your choice of two items from the display case, rice, either garlic or plain naan, and a yogurt sauce. The vegetable korma and chicken tiki marsala are my favorites. The mango lassi is delicious and tops off an already filling and tasty meal. read more

The customer service of Naan Cafe is one of the worst of any Indian restaurants. Most employees are unskilled workers with no training in greetings, or how to handle customer complaints. They have a negative approach to calls and the foot quality in inconsistent, on top of that quantity is minimal. If you looking for a quick fix for Indian food, you can go here, but as a to go destination, do not bother as many of their employees have no hygiene practices, and some of them even will retaliate on your food once you debate with them. One of my culinary quests is to find Indian food at a good price that doesn't sacrifice quality. Many of the least expensive places tend to sacrifice both quality and portion. Naan Café for the most part delivers the goods at a good price and taste with portions that are generous. This is no fine dining establishment you will be eating on styrofoam plates with plastic cutlery. However 6.99 for a two item combo that includes naan and for .99 you can add a small fountain drink; it really doesn't matter how it is served. My party had saag panner, vegetable korma, tandoori chicken, and we also ordered some samosas. What surprised me is that we were brought a basket full naan bread I was just expecting two small pieces. The saag panner and vegetable korma was delicious, great flavor and nicely spiced. The samosas came straight out of a steam table and while they tasted just fine the pastry shell does suffer a bit in a metal tray. The rice also suffers the same steam table treatment. I don't think this establishment has a tandoor oven. The naan does not have that distinct flavor that only a tandoor oven can give, and the chicken while flavorful again did not impart the flavors one gets with a tandoor oven. If they do have an oven, then possibly the cooking was rushed, since the chicken did not have tandoor flavor past the skin and the naan bread while plentiful was slightly uncooked. Even with these issues the rest of the food was great and I will definitely return. Next time I will definitely try other items on the menu, since I am very curious how the cooked to order items are. read more

I have been wanting to try this place, but after this stunt I will never. The menu is vast and the flavors are deep. I'm still working my way through the menu, but so far the Goat Curry and Seekh Kabob are my favorites. The fact that they even have goat curry (and pani puri for that matter) gives them points. Also, the atmosphere is dig-able in that it echoes *modern* India. So, if you're hoping for sitar music and soft lighting, you'll be disappointed. If you're willing to move past a romanticized India (or you've been in a rickshaw as a lowrider passes blasting a Baliwood tune across King's Way Camp), then you might dig it. Go eat there, and don't be afraid to let your fingers get a little orange. Note: you can tell how good an Indian place is by the number of black mustaches and dupattas. Just found out about this place! The restaurant isn't much of a sit-down, waiter service restaurant. If anything, it's like Panda Express but with Indian food. You can order a 2-combo plate, which comes with 2 entrees, rice, 4 pieces of naan, and yogurt for just $8.99! Or you can order a 3-combo special, or specific entrees freshly made. I got the 2 combo plate with chicken curry and chicken tikka masala. It was so good, and I love that it comes with so much garlic naan and yogurt. Lasted me two meals, and the prices are so cheap! I ordered through Postmates and specifically wrote a note to pls add the mint and red chutneys, then I called them to make sure they got the note and put the chutneys in with my order. The girl I spoke with said she would make sure the chutneys would be delivered to me. HOWEVER, she lied. I didn't get them, even after I called to make sure they wouldn't be missed. Delicious Indian food and very warm service. Each time we have come in, we have been helped by the same younger gentleman wearing a hat. I assume that he is the owner. If he is, then he should be very proud of their success. All of the food has been great, but it is the garlic naan and rice pudding that I dream of.
