July 30, 2026 - Wow-what a fantastic first visit! The dinner was incredible and the service was warm, pleasant and welcoming throughout. My wife, Chef Ann, felt at home from the minute we walked in. The location was clean, quiet, and cozy. I'm a Type 2-diabetic so I don't generally eat at locations that don't serve brown rice. But Mohammad, the owner, was very accommodating. He prepared a delightful off-the-menu Navrattan Korma mixed vegetables as a a low-carb substitute for the basmati rice. And the lamb curry? OMGoodness-it's the best I've ever tasted! My mouth was having a party! The veggies and lamb were exploding with flavor in every mouthful and spiced to perfection. Ann had the Chicken Tikka Masala, samosas and garlic naan and it was all excellent. By the end of the meal, Chef Ann was already declaring this as our new go-to Indian place. Surprisingly, I agree with her! That's unusual for me, I normally prefer home-cooked meals to eating out. We're so delighted we discovered Beyond Biryani and we can't wait to go back! 7/30/26 My husband and I had just left the VA and we were famished. It was my turn to decide where we would dine today. As we were approaching California & Benton I quickly pointed out, Beyond Biryani. Thats the restaurant I've been meaning to try. My husband and I were the only patrons at the time of our arrival. The dinning area is casual & charming with a hint of coziness. The Beautiful photos of India cuisine that line the walls made me salivate. I just knew I was in for something big. The menu is pretty diverse. It took me some time to decide because I could hardly make up my mind. Our waiter was so patient and kind, bless his heart. Then a young man walked over and asked if we had any questions. It turns out he is the owner. My husband asked a few questions then put in his order. Roti, Lamb Curry and spicy sautéed veggies. Mohammed prepared a speciality dish for my husband who is a heavyweight when it comes to partaking in spicy foods. Mohammed brought it on and my husband was in heaven. The Lamb Curry was tender and spiced to perfection The Veggies had a smoky, charred flavor that he equally enjoyed. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, Samosa, garlic Naan & colorful Battsmatti rice. All i can tell you, is that I was one very happy camper! Right away my thought was....Yes, this is a Great treat ! Mohammed, serviced up Quality & quantity. Vibrant colors, spice laden fragrance, deep and rich flavors.... If this is what you want in Indian food, this is the place. Beyond Biryani is apparently 2 partners from India - one north and one south - so it's a marriage of regional flavors under one roof. My son wanted to treat me to dinner early for Fathers Day. I have been longing to try this restaurant since it had been recommended by a client of mine from India. He promised this was "the place" in the IE for authenticity. So I opted to go here - eager for the opportunity. A party of five of us arrived We were greeted by the tantalizing masala fragrances and an older kind faced gentleman who is likely one of the proprietors. We were promptly seated and began salivating over the selections. The menu is prolific - check their website for a preview. I had my mind set on 4 dishes right away after arriving and reading through the offerings. I asked advice from the server, a young lady that was quite welcoming. We assured her we could handle the heat of some of the warmer dishes (I LOVE spice!!) Multiple spicy curries, a tangy rich & creamy tikka masala, a fiery chicken biryani dish, and some lightly charred garlic naan appeared after appropriate time. Dig in!! Oooooooh my - picture Mark Wiens saying "ooooooohhhh" (iykyk). So very satisfying! Heat that had the tears on the edge of the eyelids, but was so enjoyable! Succulent curry gravies, tender chicken and lamb, and scooping it as fast as swallowing and savoring allow. Loved every bite! My one regret? The photo you see is the ONLY one we got (the server was super sweet and took it along with some good natured jesting with us). Long story short? Best Indian food experience I have had. I was so disappointed after going yesterday. I had never been to Redlands Public Market and was looking forward to checking it out. My daughter placed her order at 12:15 and we did not get it until 12:46! Half an hour is way to long to wait for food. We returned for the second time in two weeks to try other dishes! This time we had the chicken 65 biryani and lamb rogan gosh, both mild spice (for me), and garlic naan. Food is fresh and worth the wait as the flavors are amazing! Just the right amount of heat to cause sniffles but not blow your head off. Service was excellent as well; our waitress returned frequently to refill our water and bus plates. We'll be returning to try other dishes! Ordered: Daal Tadka (lentils), aloo gobi(cauliflower), kurkuri bhindi (okra), whole wheat roti. I'd been meaning to try this restaurant sooner and I'm glad I finally did. Beautiful restaurant, great service and tasty food. I got the daal tadka medium spicy and it was warming inside and delicious, I think I am going to try it hotter next time since I love spicy food. The aloo gobi had really delicious flavor and I loved the texture contrast between the cauliflower and potato. They had told me kurkuri bhindi was just fried okra with spices, but it was much tastier than I was expecting, all of the okra was deliciously crispy and the spices were nice. We came for a friend's birthday and they added a complimentary dessert which was some sort of fried cheese with a sweet syrup and everyone loved it. They let me know they have lunch buffets so I will be back! read more

Our favorite! The chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi, and aloo samosa have become our staples. Soooo good.

This new spot took over the old taco place. Big storefront with the left side big enough for banquet style events and right side for casual dine in. Was advised it would take about 20 minutes and they were right. It took about 25 minutes in total. I walked the interior while waiting. The restrooms are located on the banquet side of the restaurant. There are a few stone benches out front if you prefer outside seating. All in all, their menu is vast and beyond biryani (has both meat & vegetarian options) which is a nice differentiator to many other Indian restaurants in the area. I hope with practice they're able to be more consistent on the salt level and better portioning. I ordered three dishes to-go, one appetizer and two mains. The Gobi Manchurian appetizer for $13 came in the smallest container. I counted 5 pieces of cauliflower (battered and fried Gobi) with large pieces of white onion and green bell peppers. While the crunch of the Gobi was excellent, this dish was too small of a serving than I am used to for the price and VERY SALTY. For the two mains I ordered the Masala dosa (which comes with a savory sipping soup called sambar). This one is better eaten in person. My mistake on taking this home because it was soggy by the time I opened it up. Good flavor, but just not as enjoyable as fresh off the pan. The sambar was tasty. A little on the spicy side (as it should be) and not overly salted (thankfully). Typically my favorite dish, the baingan bharta was the worst dish. Not only was the eggplant mash not flavorful with a Smokey aroma, it seems their take on this dish is straight up 90% chopped onions and green peas. The excessive onions made the dish overly sweet. I may have to jazz this one up a bit because the flavor was just not there (needed more spices AND SALT). The extra garlic naan I ordered was standard garlic naan. read more

The food was good. Many seats available if you're planning to go with family or friends. The service was friendly and there was no wait time. We went on the weekend for lunch right when the lunch buffet opened. I am vegetarian and my favorites were the naan bread, pun, mutton briyani, and vegetarian korma (little spicy). I wish they served garlic naan during the lunch buffet. I've had better Indian lunch buffets in the area. This place is worth a visit though. read more

Easy access parking, in a large parking log with large spaces. This Indian restaurant is new and replace a prior Mexican restaurant. The menu has many authentic Indian dishes not seen from other restaurants in the area. Particularly the Mutton dishes are amazing. They are cooked at the right tenderness and the meat flavor is going to keep you coming back. The sause, spice and season keeps thing fresh and you don't get the bloated and dry mouth feeling after the food. Which means they must not use MSG or other additives. Overall great new Indian restaurant that provides a fresh take and high qaulity food. Will be back again. read more

Went for the lunch buffet. Selection was pretty scarce as far as Indian buffets go - karahi paneer, palak paneer, Chana masala, butter chicken, fish curry, naan, and rice. Big problem that I had was that they mixed chicken samosas with veggie samosas and didn't properly label. No desserts (gulab jamun & gajar halwa). Food was INSANELY salty, and no real spice. We love supporting small businesses. We love indian cuisine. I was very excited this restaurant was opening up near me. I took my daughter and two friends to this restaurant. We always ask each other. Is this a place we would return? Had we found a new favorite in redlands? Every one of us said. We would never return. The food was maybe a 3 to 4 the rice was so dried out i thought I was going to break a tooth on how hard some of them were, the nanny was also dry it completely broke in your hand like a potato chip. First time here was very impressed by the the appearance and menu and heard a lot of good things about this place from my daughter so was very excited. They have really very diverse menu and service is good . May be it was late in the night and many customers still in the restaurant service was little slow but very attentive. I did not like my dish was very dry and kind of burnt and I was told it is always like that . Oh come on I had that dish many time and it is not that dry or burnt. Experience was not pleasant at all. When there is food in the buffet you can try if you're lucky enough that the buffet has been replenished. It takes a long time to replenish the buffet and you end up waiting for a long, long time , even though they keep telling you it'll come out in five minutes. Been wanting to try this place out and had the opportunity to do so few weeks ago. My friend and I tried their lunch buffet, and all the dishes were really good. My only complaint is that they didn't have chicken tikka masala, but they did have butter chicken. They served this deep fried bread (not naan). I don't remember what it's called, but it was really addicting! I would also prefer just plain white rice but the biryani that they served was pretty good. It was just a little too spicy for me. Such a cute place in Redlands. It's a mix of North and South Indian food. I was surprised that they had mandi, which is technically a Yemeni dish. It was quite tasty though. Went with friends and tried half of their menu. If you can't take spicy food, this is not your place. Even if you order mild, it will still come spicy. My friend had her palak paneer to go Their Chana Chaat is one of the best dishes on the menu. Highly recommend. Their gulab jamun was a very different version of what I'm used to. Not my favorite. Their grilled meats were good. Recommend! I missed a bit more of the flavor and could do without the huge amount of heavy cream in the Chicken Tikka Masala- it was beige/cream color instead of the regular creamy tomato color. Last night I ate at the newest location of Beyond Biryani at the Redlands Public Market. They had only been open for a few days at that location. I looked at all the other eateries in the building, but the unique Indian aromas coming from their kitchen brought me back to their counter. Because I have only had Indian food a few times, I asked the three women working there what they recommended. They suggested that I try something with a variety of flavors. They also asked if I wanted entrees with meat or without. I said I probably wanted meat. They offered me small samples of four different "sauces". Each of these was amazing and flavorful. I ordered a two item plate with Basmati rice and Naan bread on the side. After I made my selections, the manager informed me that I had chosen two vegetarian entrees. They were both flavorful and just the right amount of spicy for me. They were so good! I have been to the Redlands Public Market many other times. This was my favorite food by far! And I didn't miss the meat at all. After I had finished my dinner, I went back to the counter to compliment them again on the delicious food. The manager (whose name is U.C.) told me that there is already a Beyond Biryani restaurant on California Street in Redlands. I am eager to eat at either one of their locations again very soon.
