The service was extremely slow, although they were very nice and the food was very good, but the service was slow. They don't have a liquor license so there's nothing to drink and the water came very slowly. Overall the food was very good and you can see that they took care but the restaurant was decorated OK and again the server was very sweet very slow and kind of a turn off. It's very spicy, but I think the quality of fruit food was good. The restaurant gave me vibes between fast food and trying to be nicer. I think they need more servers and a liquor license. Perry was our waitress and happily spent some time sharing with us about how the family business came to be. She was really delightful and fun to chat with. And, oh my goodness, the food! We got the Chicken 65 Biryani, the Lamb Tikka Masala, and the garlic naan. We could tell from the first bite that it was made with care. Everything is marinated and slow cooked to perfection! The rice was so flavorful. We got our spice level at medium and it was perfect! Just the right amount of kick, but not overwhelmingly spicy. And the naan was puffy and slightly crispy. This was our second visit to Beyond Biryani on California Street in Redlands but our first visit to the "all you can eat" lunch buffet (11 AM- 3PM Tuesday through Saturday). The buffet had a variety of vegetable and meat dishes including Sag Paneer, okra with potatoes, chickpeas with potatoes, eggplant, butter chicken, goat curry, tandoori chicken, yogurt curry, garlic and plain naan, samosas, pakoras, and several other selections. The dishes were wonderfully seasoned , some spicier than others, and there is a salad/fruit area with sauces and relishes to complement the meal. The staff was constantly replenishing the dishes with hot additions from the kitchen, and stopping by our table to see if we needed anything. This buffet is the perfect addition to Indian cuisine dining in Redlands. The buffet and lunch dining room are to the left of the main dining room, and two or three larger tables that seat 4-6, and a large number of smaller tables that seat 3-4. The background music reflects the Indian culture and cuisine without being so loud to prevent conversation. We look forward to our next visit Beyond Biryani! read more
