People on Yelp are getting it right because this place was amazing! All my expectations for great Indian food was met and beyond. Great prices - check! A good amount of spices - check! Good portion size - check! Great naan - check! I got the 2 item combo where you pick 2 entrees and it comes with 4 pieces of regular or garlic naan, rice, and their yogurt sauce. I ended up picking the saag paneer (spinach curry with cheese) and chicken tikka masala (chicken curry with spices). Both were incredible with a good amount of spice. I had enough to eat for 3 meals. They also did not charge extra for garlic naan so I really loved that. They did take a while to put my order together (20-25 minutes) so I do recommend calling in if you're in a hurry. If you done in, you get a rice. But online order they don't give you rice. Oh and also, need to ask for utensils. If not,they won't give it to you. Centrally located in the Albertson's shopping center off Redlands Blvd., Naan Cafe offers one of THEE best Indian Cuisine from an already-delicious line up of Indian restaurants in the Inland Empire. As you walk in, you are greeted by a friendly employee who waits patiently as you peruse the extensive digital board menu. There are two ways to order here: 1. Combo Plates - where you point to prepared dishes, similar to cafeteria-style (or in Tagalog, "Turo Turo") dining. They have 2-item and 3-item combos available for your convenience. 2. Order a la carte if you prefer an entree-size portion. When ordering entree-size, you can customize the spice level from mild, medium, or spicy. Although the dining area is set up like a small cafeteria, you will not be disappointed with the food. We ordered the following items a la carte: * CHICKEN TANDOORI - This, by far, was the best Chicken Tandoori I have ever tasted from any Indian restaurant...EVER! The chicken was not dry from being in the Tandoor oven but, instead, it had a grilled (but not hard) exterior. When you sink your teeth into this bone-in chicken leg, you are immediately tantalized by the savory spices accompanied by moist, juicy chicken meat! It was also covered (not smothered) with julienned green bell peppers and white onions. It was the perfect pairing for this dish! Outstanding! * KARAHI LAMB - Lamb is never my first choice of meat; however, the Karahi Lamb was savory and delicious. It reminded me of the Filipino dish called "Kaldereta". When you pull it apart, it stretched and it was chewy. Definitely a MUST-have! * CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA - The ever-popular Indian dish! We just had to order this and it did not disappoint! The chicken itself was breast meat that was uniformly cubed. The uniformity indicates that whomever prepared this dish took their time and added passion to present a beautiful dish. The sauce was delicious and it wasn't thick or 'goup-y', and it was saucy but not watery. This was perfection! Amazing! * I had ordered another popular dish to go, BUTTER CHICKEN. No, it's not chicken bathed in a sauce full of butter (eew, haha). The difference between the Butter Chicken and the Chicken TIkka Masala was the type of meat used. Butter Chicken uses dark meat while the CTM is white [breast] meat. * The SAMOSAS were also a wonderful appetizer. They were huge! And Naan Cafe's recipe for these samosas were perfected. Definitely 'on point'! Parking here is easy to find, as it is shared with Albertson's and other businesses. WHEELCHAIR/WALKER/STROLLER ACCESSIBLE: Yes but can be tight in this facility. There were about 3 booths and a couple tables with pull-out chairs where w/w/s can be 'parked'. WAIT TIME: We waited about 10 (maybe 15?) minutes for our orders but it was definitely worth the wait! ORDER AHEAD OF TIME: Yes, you can easily place orders ahead of time, which is a plus if you're on your lunch break. DINING WITH A GROUP: It may be difficult but don't let that stop you from coming here! DISCOUNTS: If you bring your receipt in within 3 days, you get 10% off. What a great perk! Are you kidding me! Was trying to order food and every time I found out they charge extra per ingredient! For something called a Indian dish, you would think they would throw in the a piece of bread or include something as cheap as white freaking rice! Give me a break! Honestly this place is more of a 3.5 star than a 3. It's a small, clean cafe with wifi (I noticed students on their laptops) and has their dishes ready-made like cafeteria style. I grew up with Indian friends and for the past few years, the east coast (especially New Jersey) has showed me what real indian restaurant quality food should taste like and how much chicken to sauce ratio is expected to be-- so that's why I knocked the other 2 stars off. I got the 3-item combo (~13$) to-go of the chicken tikka masala, chicken curry, and the saag paneer. It comes with a small drink, small yogurt, rice, and choice of naan. There was a good amount of garlic naan and it wasn't burnt or dry so that's a plus. They did give a lot of rice, but I feel that the portion of the 3 sides could be a little bit more generous as in there was a lot of sauce, which could have had more chicken. I am being nit picky about this since I've been to multiple indian cafes like this, but for someone who hasn't, these portions are enough. The chicken dishes itself were tasty and the chicken curry had a hint of light spice. I also wouldn't recommend the saag paneer-- I had very tiny pieces of paneer and I would say there was 4-5 pieces. For being the only Indian place in Redlands, it is a solid choice and I would frequent again if I was craving Indian food. read more

To be honest, I've never had any other Indian food before - so I have nothing to compare this to in regards to flavor however I can tell you that I decided to try this out of the blue on day and WOW, I've been back more times than I can count. Delicious food! One of the best places in all of Redlands to get some food that is not over-priced and tasteless. I've tried all of the vegan and vegetarian options on the menu (there are more than a handful!) and I've been very impressed with every single serving. I love this Cafe. The staff are super sweet, the customer service is Grade A+. The food is delicious. I have only been a few times, but every time I have visited, the place has been clean, with a steady stream of customers, and the food has been out of this world. My friend was craving Indian food and she asked me to come here. This was my 3rd time coming here and every time I get sucked in to coming here. I generally avoid restaurants / cafes that serve food in styrofoam cups and plates as I find the whole thing unprofessional and not very environmentally friendly. I didn't really want to rate the restaurant because of MY bad experience, since I hear the food is decent but I honestly didn't like it. I was craving soup and I got the chicken and egg soup. Sitting down and waiting for the food, my friends food comes in a styrofoam to-go box and all I'm thinking is "oh god, will mine be in plastic cup too"? Keep in mind I've never had soup here and when plastic comes in contact with hot food, the chemicals can actually leach into the food. As I'm waiting, the server brings me a plastic cup with the soup and a plate with fork and spoon! I'm really unsure as to why bring me a plate since I'm drinking liquid?! Perhaps he wanted me to share my food w my friend hence the plate...it was confusing. The soup was SO hot and actually really oily and spicy. I wish I never got it. I couldn't finish it, but I hate wasting food, so I took it home. For dinner I'm eating it, and I see two chunks of eggshells in my soup! Thank god I saw it, because another time I realized I found eggshells in my food, after I scratched the roof of my mouth and blisters formed which was really uncomfortable for a month until it healed. Eggshells in food are a form of contamination and as soon as I saw it, I called the place and they were nice enough to refund me. I will never come back. read more

One of favorite places to eat in Redlands. My Indian friends from the hospital tell me the taste is very authentic. That being said - I really don't care if it is authentic or not, because I simply love their food. Unlike other Indian foods in town, each dish has its distinctive flavors. Their naans are perfectly cooked every time. Service is excellent as well. Their catering service by the way is fabulous as well. When COVID crush's hit, they were very quick to close up. I appreciated their sense of responsibility, and made me want to support them even more when they opened back up. Good restaurants are hard to come by in Redlands and we are lucky to have them here in town. Highly recommended. read more

I've ordered food from this place 4 times over the past 2 months. The first time, I went to the restaurant to order take out. They shorted me naan, so had to go back and get it (I checked the order in the car, so hadn't left yet). The next 2 times, I ordered through grub hub. Things were fine, although the quality/taste of the food varied by order. This evening, I ordered an entree (via grub hub) and was shocked to find out that rice doesn't come with a small $15 lamb vindaloo entree that was mostly sauce with a few pieces of lamb and potato in it. It didn't mention that rice had to be ordered and paid for separately. Additionally, I had to pay $5 for a piece of naan, that probably cost less than a dollar to make. I ordered samosas, too, and unfortunately, they were soaked with oil and tasted off (unlike previous orders). After this experience, I will be searching for other options when I'm in the mood for Indian food. read more

Stopped by tea place and saw this restaurant next door so thought to try it. It seemed busy hour. First I thought it was some Mediterranean restaurant. They have option of Combo plate and A la carte. A la carte menu is pretty expensive compared to the meal so I chose 2 item combo Chicken tikee masala. Not good service and food spilled all over the plastic bag which I didn't realize until I got home. The sauce also spilled in my car seat. I don't know if yellow curry mark will get off from seat. I was so hopeful but it was so disappointing that I had to share feedback so that hopefully they can improve. I ordered the butter chicken and vindaloo, ordered spicy. First, wasn't spicy at all. Medium at best. Vindaloo is traditionally already spicy. The vindaloo was so greasy... never seen it prepared that way, it was unrecognizable as far as texture. There were large chunks that I accidentally bit into that were very unpleasant... I'm guessing cardamom chunks. (Worse than biting into a bay leaf left in a soup). The chicken was the worst part. It was nasty. Tough pieces with skin and gristle and fat. I couldn't eat a single piece of meat in the vindaloo. I had to throw it away. The butter chicken had a few better pieces but some gross ones as well. The flavor (mediocre), spiciness (disappointing) and quality (unacceptable). Super bummed and grossed out. read more
