    Butter Chicken

I was around the corner and wanted to give this fantastic Indian restaurant a try. First, the server was straight forward when I walked in, you can try what they have on the menu or you can get their buffet which I did. The all you can eat buffet was a fantastic choice as it had every assortment of Indian dishes you can think of but the favorite of mine were the butter chicken and tandoori chicken with rice and naan. Definitely an establishment that cares about the quality of the food as I will be returning in the near future!

It's in a relatively banal strip mall around the airport, unlike its sister restaurant in the historic part of Savannah. However, once you're inside, it's a cavernous space with an impressive selection of food. I've been to plenty of Indian restaurants in the South, but it still strikes me with I'm addressed with a local accent at a place that makes cuisine from the other side of the world (the exact opposite point from Savannah is in the Indian Ocean). Their Indo-Chinese specialties were trumpeted and looked good, but I settled for a more basic order of an aloo tikki chaat, freshly fried potato patties with a chickpea covering and a whole bunch of other flavors, as well as a bhindi masala, a high-fiber stir-fried okra dish. It was an exciting mix of tastes and I used more than one glass of iced tea to wash it down. Despite the weather being bad, the place was getting crowded by the time I left. Given the fantastic variety of food, I could easily see returning for everything from a crepe to an Indo-Chinese spiced cheese dish.

We were greeted at door by staff. Permitted to choose our setting. The restaurant is clean and standard decor. I I chose the buffet options so that I can try array of food to determine my liking. I tried. I eat them from the buffet. Everything was delicious. My favorite was the goat meat dish. Very affordable. The buffet with the water was $20+ and with a tip I paid $25 for this experience!

Took advantage of a 40% off if you order $25 or more, and got some outstanding pepper chicken and their always incredible lamb vindaloo. I order from here every time I stay in Pooler and they have yet to disappoint. I've never eaten inside the restaurant, but would believe all of the positive reviews based on the experience I've had interacting with the staff.

The food was not great. Then I saw their health score. The very bottom (below has stations) was their rating. Disgusting.

Impressed with the ambience of this place. Menu is elaborate and sometimes it's a red flag for indian restaurants as making so many dishes fresh is almost impossible. Rating for food Sweet corn soup - 0/5. Seriously.... How to you mess up mixing and boiling some chicken broth and cream of corn!! Harabara Kabab - 2/5 Chicken 65 - 3.5/5 only dish that was OK other than the Naans Plain Naan - 3.5/5 Bullet Naan -2/5 Amritsari Kulcha - 3/5 Paneer Butter Masala - 2/5 Chicken Dum Biryani - 2/5 Overall: Food - 2/5 Ambience - 3/5 Service - 3/5 Recommendation for the owners: Reduce the menu to half items and just be good at it Fix spellings on the menu Consider not saying 'authentic' in your material so you don't offend foodies like me

And the only reason this isn't a four was primarily tied to Service. But more on that later. First, I want to start with the review on the food, which technically was a solid four if not, a 4 1/2. This is very authentic. Indian food served in a very modest dining room setting in family style plating. Prices are fairly reasonable, but as with other restaurants in this area, you are paying a bit of a premium because of the overall area itself. That being said, this is a very accessible menu, which primarily pushes the Non Indian customers towards the more popular, Indian entrees, where they feature a mix and match protein style. We had dinner there with another couple that was in town visiting and they also were Indian food fans, and coincidentally, familiar with the restaurant themselves. We all ordered traditional entrees, along with a couple of drinks. For one of our diners, they ran out of Coors light when he tried to order a second so he switched to a Coke afterwards. Now on to the service. My main complaint here may have just been tied to our specific server, but there just seemed to be a bit of condescending energy with the way in which he approached taking the order. Even though we are very familiar with Indian food, we had not seen this Asian-Indian sub menu before and started asking questions about some of the items on the menu. There was a fried rice dish and a fried noodle dish that were approximately $15-$16 in price which made us think they were entrees. When we asked the server about the entrees, he condescendingly corrected us by telling us they were appetizers and instead of pointing out other things on that part of the menu that we might've been interested in as a entree, he pushed us back to the traditional Indian standards almost as if to say, don't venture off of the beaten path and stick to something that likely won't disappoint you. I'm never a big fan of servers shepherding Non members of the culture to the basic and most popular entrees. When I go to an Indian restaurant, I don't always want somebody to recommend tandoori chicken and Nan bread when there are so many other diverse dishes on the menu. We also found the same server to be a bit slow when it came to clearing the table and coming back to check on everybody after entrées had been delivered. From looking around in the restaurant, it appeared to me that this was a popular choice with Indian families in the area, and I am pretty sure that was primarily tied to the quality of the food and the authenticity. However, I would definitely not recommend this as a date spot and would recommend heading over to Naan Appetit instead if that's the Vibe you're looking for. Overall, not a bad choice. depending on what you're looking for. But as good as this is, still not the best choice for Indian food in the area.

I ordered chicken biriyani, as I'm not a fan of sauces. Ah-mazing. It's such a simple dish, but it was bursting with flavor. The only down side was that it wasn't spicy enough. They offered extra spices though! Being a white girl ordering things "Indian spicy" usually gets me "white girl spicy" I wish I knew how to assure restaurants I can handle heat. Anyway, I also got the mango mojito. It paired well with biriyani and cut the heat quite a bit.

We were told there was a one-hour wait for dine-in and a 45-minute wait for takeout. We placed a takeaway order, but had to wait 75 minutes to get our food, which was disappointing. Since we were visiting the area and staying at a hotel, we asked for disposable cutlery. They did not have plates and provided only spoons and forks. About the food: -Butter naan and Paneer Methi Malai: 4/5 - good flavor and soft paneer. -Veg Hakka noodles: 3/5 - just average, nothing special. -Veg biryani: 2/5 - root vegetables were undercooked and almost raw, not flavorful, and not truly a biryani; it would be better described as pulao. The portion sizes were decent, but they did not follow our requested spice level and served the food mild to medium. Overall, we had a disappointing experience at this restaurant.
