    Vegetable samosas

The restaurant was empty of customers when we walked in at 8pm. The hostess, Sky, was friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. I ordered Lamb Biryani (spice level,1), garlic naan, and mango Lassi to drink. My husband had the goat biryani (spice level 2), vegetable samosas, and water. Because we were there so late, they gave us complimentary rice pudding right before we left. Everything was DELICIOUS! I recommend this place!

So good! Might be the best Indian food in Savannah! We arrived on Friday night around 7:30, it wasn't busy. However, there were tons of Uber eats or DoorDash orders! We got the onion kulcha, lamb samosas, chicken tikka masala, and shrimp korma. I thought I was going to have some leftovers to take home, but I cleaned my plate - it was that good. The serving dish that had the three different sauces (one that was mint based, another that was tamarind based, and a third made with onions and ketchup) was not only cute, but very handy with the small serving spoons. Normally I get those sauces in small containers and end up pouring way too much on my food. Everything okay as so good and came out quickly. I was almost concerned, but the food tasted fresh. Not something what was reheated in the back. Some prices have increased, I think due to COVID related things, but I'd still go back!

Invited by my daughter to take a break from nearby shopping, and visit a restaurant that was a destination in past years. Upon arrival, I wondered if it was open. Sign was lit but no cars around no movement and no sounds. Upon entry it took a while to be approached and invited to take a seat. Since it was Sunday, our menu options were limited but sufficient to find our choices. With a vegetarian and carnivore, we went to different culinary corners. Upon the suggestion of the manager/server my daughter chose a spicy vegetable cream curry. It was served with about a tablespoon of cashews on top. My choice was the goat vindaloo. I'm a long time fan of the spicy, biting, vinegar-imbued meat curry dish. So much so that I make it at home. Apart from a firey bite, classic vindaloo flavor comes from vinegar. My dish was more like a mild curry stew. Some vinegar was hiding in there, but no heat, and no raw bite. The meat was cubed into about 2 inch cubes by about 1/2 inch thick. Meat was tough, stringy and attached to bones. In all, maybe a cup and a half of meat. With broth, the serving was about a cup and a half. $19 My daughter's $15 vegetarian entree was better seasoned (spicy) and packed with fresh cut vegetables in a delicious curry sauce. Capped with garlic Naan (fresh and delicious) and Indian Taj Mahal beer and we had a nice visit. Solid, not remarkable.

The food was pretty good. The rice looks to be different from past visit but it was a pass on taste. The vegetables curry looks and tast like it came out of the can and they put there curry sauce on it but everything else was good. May need more help as only one person that is serving and host.

My boyfriend and I were nervous about entering this restaurant because it looked like it was closed, as there were no cars in the parking lot. We wanted to try it because we wanted to support local restaurants and were served raw chicken. The flavor was good, but the chicken was spongey and very raw. At this point, we had already ordered and unfortunately canceled our order because we ordered the entree chicken tikka masala, and we were both nervous that it would happen again. We apologized, paid for our drinks, and left. No one even apologized to us for the raw chicken, which was very hurtful.

$45 for white rice. Some bread and about 4 oz chicken, do not shop here!!!!

I ordered chicken biriyani, as I'm not a fan of sauces. Ah-mazing. It's such a simple dish, but it was bursting with flavor. The only down side was that it wasn't spicy enough. They offered extra spices though! Being a white girl ordering things "Indian spicy" usually gets me "white girl spicy" I wish I knew how to assure restaurants I can handle heat. Anyway, I also got the mango mojito. It paired well with biriyani and cut the heat quite a bit.

We were told there was a one-hour wait for dine-in and a 45-minute wait for takeout. We placed a takeaway order, but had to wait 75 minutes to get our food, which was disappointing. Since we were visiting the area and staying at a hotel, we asked for disposable cutlery. They did not have plates and provided only spoons and forks. About the food: -Butter naan and Paneer Methi Malai: 4/5 - good flavor and soft paneer. -Veg Hakka noodles: 3/5 - just average, nothing special. -Veg biryani: 2/5 - root vegetables were undercooked and almost raw, not flavorful, and not truly a biryani; it would be better described as pulao. The portion sizes were decent, but they did not follow our requested spice level and served the food mild to medium. Overall, we had a disappointing experience at this restaurant.

The…read moreplace looks awesome inside--super spacious, modern, and clean with a chill vibe that makes you actually want to hang out and enjoy the food. We kicked things off with the crispy chilli baby corn, and it was straight-up snack heaven. Crunchy, spicy, saucy -- basically everything you want in an appetizer. Washed it down with a mango lassi that was creamy and refreshing without being sugary sweet. Already winning at this point. But then... the kebab platter showed up. And I swear, it's one of the best kebabs I've had in a long time. So flavorful, juicy, perfectly cooked -- the kind of dish that makes you stop talking mid-sentence. We also tried their special biryani, and it hit all the right notes -- aromatic, tasty, and not greasy at all. Long story short: I now officially have a reason to come back to Pooler again, and it's spelled Naan Appetit.

We visited Naan Appetit for the first time last weekend and really enjoyed ourselves. There are a…read morecouple of notable things about Naan Appetit that I feel I must share because there is a similarly highly rated Indian restaurant within a stones throw away from Naan that it that also deserves comparison. I will review that restaurant under separate cover, but just know that when comparing this one to Persis, I would rate Naan Appetit as the better restaurant. But ultimately they are two different experiences within the Indian food category and for that reason are very hard to compare (more on that in the Persis review). But now let's talk about Naan Appetit. So what I really like about this restaurant is the value for the ambience and atmosphere. This is a very nicely appointed restaurant that I actually thought was a furniture store before we realized it was an actual restaurant. Very well appointed well designed and upscale in look, feel and function. Service is very strong with multiple servers and front of house greeting you immediately upon entry. We were seated within 3 to 5 minutes of walking in, and this was on a Friday night with a fairly full house. Once we were seated, our server immediately came over, provided us with menus and gave us a bit of information about the restaurant. We then proceed to ask a couple of questions about level of spice, and were really pleased with the servers descriptions of the various items on the menu and which ones we may or may not want to avoid depending on our spice level preference. I really appreciated the way the menu was set up which allowed for fairly easy decision making when it came to what we wanted to order. We went with mostly traditional entrees, ordering the lamb vindaloo, and the korma. Both were authentic and very well seasoned and spiced. We also ordered a couple of the garlic butter Naan bread, which were also really good. And lastly, we tried out the tandoori wings, which I had read on previous Yelp reviews were a highlight of the restaurant. When we first asked the server about them, he seemed a bit reluctant to recommend them because of the time it would take for them to be delivered to our table, which was approximately 30 minutes. We told him we weren't in a rush and didn't have anywhere else to be so we were totally fine with ordering them. It turns out that they ended up coming to the table before our appetizers even made it. So a bit of an overblown concern there. Outside of that little wrinkle, our overall experience was really pleasurable, especially given the sub $100 price point we paid including tip. This is definitely one of the restaurants we will be going to during our stay here in Savannah. And if I had to give the best advice on the difference between this restaurant and the other, I would say pick this for date night and pick the other one for family night.

We've celebrated so many special moments here, from Diwali to my son's first solid food (butter chicken, of course!), and it's become our go-to spot for both the lunch buffet and countless family dinners. There is truly something for everyone on the menu. My personal favorite is the paneer makhani, while my kids are obsessed with the butter chicken (I can't blame them--it's incredible). The chicken tikka masala, curries, and kormas are all rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. My sister and I can't resist splitting the chili paneer, and we never sit down without ordering a few vegetable samosas and plenty of garlic naan for the table. It's just as delicious when ordered on DoorDash--which we do often! My only complaint? They're closed on Mondays, and for whatever reason, we always crave it on Mondays. If you're looking for authentic, flavorful, and consistently outstanding Indian food, you can't go wrong with Himalayan Curry Kitchen.
