We got two of the nk grills and it was a good amount of food. We had to pack some to go. The naan was so soft and fresh. All the meats were juicy and flavourful. The kofta and tandoori chicken were the top picks for me. The baba ghanouj was also really good. I do wish it came with more naan though. The interior is also beautifully decorated. A couple of weeks ago, a friend tipped me off about buying one Naan and Kabob grill dinner and getting another for free when you order on Uber Eats. When I used to go into the office for work, there were a number of kabob places nearby. I would often head over there for lunch and sometimes for dinner. I missed getting my kabob fix and decided to order from this location. I live in Markham. Why am I not ordering closer to home? Well, Markham doesn't have a Naan and Kabob to take advantage of this hour. My closest location is at Markham Road and Sheppard Avenue East in Scarborough. For some reason, it didn't have this deal that day. The one in Leaside is my next closest location and it did. I placed my order and headed down. I visited this area a lot in the summertime last year, thanks to the Sobeys that I enjoy shopping at. You can't miss seeing NK on Laird. When you look up, there are block letters on the building. I pulled into the parking lot and backed into one of two available spots. The parking lot is small and was busy for an early Monday afternoon. It was my last day of my recent staycation. I waited for another five minutes before I got the notification that my order was ready to pick up. I got out of my car and walked in. I ordered the following items: - Two NK grill dinners (BOGO) - A bottle of Barbican There was a male customer standing at the counter. He eventually moved and I spoke to a nice woman. I said my name and indicated that I had an Uber Eats order. She walked over and said that the order on the table in front of me was mine. She also said that I could grab my Barbican from the fridge. Cool! I left my food on the table and headed to the fridge. I got a strawberry Barbican. I came back and let her know that I got my drink. She then said that I could take another one. I am so honest that I pointed out that I had only ordered one. She checked and nodded. I joked that I didn't want to rob her, which made both of us laugh. I thanked her and hauled my grubbed over to my car. I had one of my dinners for lunch and the other for dinner the following night. I was so looking forward to eating my lunch. The NK grill dinner consists of three types of kabobs: chicken breast, tandoori breast, and ground beef. It comes with naan, salad, and your choice of either rice or salad. Since it came with salad, I ordered rice to try it out. The kabobs were excellent! The flavours were amazing. The chicken was tender and far away from the rubbery scale. The ground beef one was so tender. It tasted like kofta with the spice blend. I couldn't tell you which one was my favourite because they were all delicious. There was a lot of rice. It was good and highly filling. The naan was perfect. It came with a spicy dip that I loved so much that I eventually doused it over my kabobs and rice. There was also kabob dip that I enjoyed immensely. It came with a side salad. The ingredients were so fresh and crisp. I enjoy beets so much that I was pleasantly surprised to find them on my salad. It was excellent. The downside to eating such a generous portion of good food is that the carb coma set in quickly. I normally get salad when I have the option between salad or rice. I didn't feel like twice the amount of salad and opted for rice. Between the rice and naan, I became a sleepyhead and took an afternoon nap for an hour. If you are sleep-deprived or need help heading to bed, order carbs from here. I was so refreshed after my quality nap... haha! The next day, I had the other NK grill dinner for dinner. Guess what? I could duplicate the carb coma. I was so full that I took an early night and slept exceptionally well. I am in love with Barbican. I had my first bottle of raspberry Barbican last summer and got hooked. The strawberry one is equally as delightful. I want to try the pineapple one next. I appreciated my introduction to NK's menu and am grateful for its BOGO offer. I will go back to ordering salad instead of lots of rice. However, if I need quality sleep, I'll get rice. Naan and Kabob offers middle eastern food with a modern twist. I have been to multiple Naan and Kabob locations. This one has very nice high Ceiling and nice decor. I have been here for dine in (before covid) and take out. Staff is friendly. Food - 4 stars. Food is very fresh and generous portion. We love to order the family feast and share with the group. Meat is very tender and well-spiced. I deducted 1 star because I noticed the kitchen staff didn't put their mask on all the time. They have the mask on their chin while cooking. read more

If you're looking for a tasty Afghan food, this place is the one!! I've ordered from this place twice and it has never failed me. I've always gotten the Chicken Kofta. The chicken kofta meal came with two chicken skewers of lean ground chicken breast, seasoned with house blended-Afghan herbs, fresh vegetables, spices and naan. The skewers were decently sized and in seasoned very nicely. The naan was nice and warm. It also came with a white sauce (taste like garlic) and a red sauce which added extra flavours to my meal. First time I went I had a chef's platter and on this recent trip I had the NK Grill. All the meats were tasty and fresh i particularly liked the tandoori chicken. Could have easily shared it with another hungry person (or had room for one of the yummy looking starters/dips). What's so special about this particular location is that the second floor has a well decorated Middle East style tea room. If you have a cup of Turkish coffee and close your eyes in there, you'll be hallucinated thinking that you in a coffee shop in Istanbul. The room is very well decorated with those authentic atmospheric carpets. Enough with the place, let's talk about the food. If you visit naanandkabob and didn't try their kabobs, go home and come back tomorrow to fix this major error! Their chicken and beef kabob is one of the best in Toronto. I preferred the beef one better but the chicken kabob is very tender & well seasoned as well. This was an awesome place to grab Afghani food. The service was friendly, the menu was easy to read and very straightforward and the ambiance was so nice! Fast forward to our food: we ordered the meat lovers platter that came with 3 different types of meat, roasted veggies, a bruschetta-type flatbread and some fries. You MUST dip the meat into the tomato chutney and the kabob dip that it comes with. These are by far the best parts of the dishes! The meat lovers filled two of us and it cost approx 24$. Shish kabob wrap was extremely yummy!!!! chicken was juicy. I had it with the mild sauce which was a good idea, it was spicy enough for my taste buds. Wray had tomato, lettuce and this tahini kind of sauce inside. The size of the wrap was great for me. Naan and Kabob's newest location is absolutely beautiful with its high ceilings, hanging light fixtures and gorgeous interior decor. It was honestly like walking into a different place. I had the honour to attend a media event hosted by them and got to try their popular dishes. Before I go into details, I was not paid to review this restaurant but the cost of the food was absorbed by the restaurant. Naan and Kabob prepared a table full of absolutely gorgeous meat platters, sides, rice and drinks. My favourite was their bolanee which is a thin naan stuffed with potato and fried. It was very light and went very well with their yogurt sauce. My favourite meat dish was the chicken kabob because it has a very nice citrus flavour added. Many of the other kabobs had a similar spice mix (aside from the tandoori chicken). The eggplant was good except for the skin which was a little hard to chew through and their version of a dumpling was also delicious but a little too saucy for my liking. The staff was very attentive and friendly, not only to us but to other customers as well. They brought out different sauces for a gentleman to try, helped other customers with their meal and was overall incredible. The place just opened recently on Laird. Very nice interior...kind of the hybrid quick service/sit down we see more often now. You order at the counter and they bring out your food. Service is a bit all over the place because they're ironing out processes and training on the go. Everyone was friendly, but I'll just call it a work in progress on service. Thankfully, the food was spot on. I just had time for a quick lunch so I had the beef tikka wrap. Tender and juicy meat, great flavours, and a cilantro-based hot sauce that would taste good on a lot of things. The level of spice was just right and everything was clearly freshly made. I remember the original Naan and Kabob. Like way back before they were on TV. Before their original location moved across the street on Lawrence. They were good then. They're still good now. And they have more locations! This one on Laird is modern and chic. Service is delightful and the food is just as good as the original location. Their skewers are legit and there's a variety of them. Their rice is fluffy, their bread is tasty, and their manti/mantu are very special. Manti are these little flat dumplings with thin wrappers and I think they're stuffed with some sort of meat. Then they're doused in a bunch of sauces including a lentil one, I think... They're delicious. I definitely recommend them. Finish it off with a mango smoothie/lassi. My husband and I ate a wonderful meal at the Laird location and enjoyed good service, lovely decor, and excellent food. We also had a good takeout experience at lunch with lentil soup/pita chips. But, the problem started when we had a take-out dinner this week. I ordered Eggplant Borani that comes with mint and garlic yogurt and it was quite horrible. The eggplant sat in a greasy mix of very hot spices (there was no mention of this being an extra spicy dish). It also came with a small container of tomato salsa. I tried scrapping the supposedly homemade tomato sauce off to try and eat the eggplant but got severe indigestion. The lentil soup did not have the pita chips that we got at take-out earlier. As well, the order of Bolanee (lightly grilled naan stuffed with potatoes, etc. at $7.99) was very mushy and the side of yogurt was missing. The Fattoush salad (with chicken breast) was a fraction of the size it is served in the restaurant and didn't even half fill the container. I called to speak to the manager, and he was abrupt and rude to the point of telling me "the girl did put the yogurt in" and "pita chips are not served with takeout soup". He didn't appear to believe anything I said. I asked if I could have a credit to have a chance to eat the eggplant borani in the restaurant at another time, and he said absolutely not. I would have to drive back immediately and get it. It was a 20-minute drive each way that my husband had already made in picking up the food, so we didn't want to do that. What I learned is that take-out does not measure up to the restaurant experience, but I won't come back. read more
