The rice itself was awesome as it was super flavorful and buttery and the lamb shank was perfectly soft, tender, and beautifully fatty. My only real critique is that the server forgot my water and it was a bit too grain-heavy for my liking; I would've preferred a few more vegetables on the plate to balance out the mountain of rice and naan. The ambiance inside was okay, but if you're looking for a filling, delicious, and budget-friendly lamb dish, it absolutely hits the spot.

I have ordered from Afghan Cuisine many times because the food is very tasty and full of flavor…read more That part is excellent and consistent. However, there are two ongoing issues. First, my clear instructions for crispy, well-done bread are never followed, despite requesting this multiple times. Second, the portion sizes seem to be getting smaller with each order, which is disappointing for a loyal, repeat customer. The food quality is good, but attention to customer instructions and consistent portion sizes need improvement.

As someone who loves Afghan food I knew I had to try naan kabob…read more My friend was vegetarian on this day but thankfully there were lots of vegetarian items on the menu and the staff was very accommodating. We ordered bolanee (spicy potato's in Afghan flatbread), babaghanoush (smoky egg plant dip) which came with warm pieces of naan bread, paneer kabab wrap (toasty bread filled with blocks of cheese) and masala fries on the side. However there was no masala spices on the fries which I didn't mind but I would have preferred it with spices. As for the paneer wrap there was a different taste with the cheese which I never had in paneer before. We were so hungry we just indulged in the food! And not to mention, the beautiful traditional Afghan decor, especially on the second floor. You must check it out. I hope to drink at the tea room one day

We came here after seeing it recommended on social media, especially for their lamb shank -- so of course, that's what we ordered. The portion was huge, so we shared one lamb shank between the two of us. The meat was tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious -- we ate every last bite. The serving was so big that we were completely stuffed by the end. We're definitely planning to come back here, but next time we'll be prepared to share dishes because the portions are just that generous. I'd highly recommend this place if you want to try some tasty and spicy food in Toronto.

I had the Lamb Chops Gold Combo and the portions were enormous and so delicious. Four succulent pieces of grilled lamb chops. My friend is a vegetarian so he had the Paneer Tikki Gold Combo. The naan was so huge! We came around 1pm on a Friday and it wasn't busy. Very spacious and lots of tables to choose from. The customer service at the counter was excellent and so appreciated. Big thanks to Wasim who always gave us a happy smile with our meals! I'm eager to return and introduce Kabul Express to more of my friends. Highly recommend!

Quite possibly the best meal I've had in Toronto so far…read more Kabob Guys is an Afghan grill on the corner of Richmond and Spadina, and it's exactly the kind of place I love discovering. The restaurant has a casual, welcoming feel with communal seating and a few two-top tables. While there were only a handful of people dining in, they were doing a brisk takeout business, and it was easy to see why. From the moment I walked in, everyone was warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. I ordered the chicken tandoori and the shish kebab with their flavorful garam rice, and everything was outstanding. Both kebabs were tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The garam rice was aromatic, fluffy, and packed with flavor. Everything arrived fresh, hot, and made to order, with just the right amount of spice to enhance the food without overpowering it. One thing I especially appreciated was finding a meal that felt fresh and wholesome. Sometimes it seems like every chicken place serves something fried or overly heavy, so this was exactly what I was looking for. The restaurant was spotless, the service was excellent, and the downtown location makes it an easy stop whether you're grabbing takeout or sitting down for a meal. This was easily my favorite meal in Toronto so far, and I'll definitely be back. If you're looking for authentic Afghan cuisine that's fresh, flavorful, and served with genuine hospitality, Kabob Guys is absolutely worth a visit.

We ordered "Bolanee", "Wakil Kabob", "Chicken Qurma", and "Chaplee Wrap". It was a nice mix of Afghan dishes. Bolanee was a good way to start, while the Wakil gave us both tandoori chicken and shish kabob with rice, salad, naan, and sauces. The Chicken Qurma was warm and comforting, and the Chaplee Wrap was a good option for sandwich-lovers. Everything was fresh and perfectly marinated and grilled. The staff are friendly and attentive.

This place expanded my horizons and how I view persian cuisine. I already knew persian cuisine was great because of the flavorful kebabs, but this adds a whole new level of appreciation to the cuisine! I'd definitely highly recommend the Jujuni, its pretty sweet but we paired it with the bread and its really satisfying. We found ourselves wiping the dish clean, always wanting one more last taste. The braised lamb is so tender, as soon as we picked up the bone the meat immediately fell off. It was cooked to perfection, and the rice was really rich and had all sorts of fun textures because of the added components. As we were ordering, once the waiter found out this was our first time at the restaurant and we weren't sure what to order, the owner came and explained each dish to us and gave us recommendations based on what we were craving. Really personalized experience and a great intro to persian cuisine for those who have only have kebabs and koobideh before this.
