I have ordered from Afghan Cuisine many times because the food is very tasty and full of flavor. That part is excellent and consistent. However, there are two ongoing issues. First, my clear instructions for crispy, well-done bread are never followed, despite requesting this multiple times. Second, the portion sizes seem to be getting smaller with each order, which is disappointing for a loyal, repeat customer. Their portions are big, and so are the flavours. All the dishes are halal, and there are vegetarian and vegan options. The service was great. The person who took our order was nice, friendly, and accommodating when we changed our order a few times. Everything that we ordered was excellent. The salmon was cooked very well done, and the fried tilapia order came as a whole fish with bones. It was dry-fried so it wasn't oily at all, and the bones sticked together which made it easy to peel the fish meat off. The garden salad (lettuce, red cabbage, diced tomatoes) was light and fresh, a great accompaniment to any meal. The rice was similar to Persian rice (using long-grain basmati rice). Food especially the Beef Mantu tastes like pure water it has absolutely no flavour. The lettuce in the shawarma's are warm and the meat is at the bottom of the wrap which is very disappointing I've tried other shawarmas and they taste better. The rice was ok but not the best. I've been Afghan food hopping and found another amazing place!!! I stumbled upon this place while looking up Afghan food. I've tried the Lamb Shank which is served on seasoned brown rice complemented by raisins and carrot. I love the taste of the rice as it was so flavourful (a nice change from just having plain white/brown rice). The lamb came off super easily from the bone and texture was delicious. Slowly and steadily, I have become a regular at this restaurant and it's already my third time at the point of writing this review. The restaurant is located in a nice and lovely shopping area. There are multiple different business nearby. Ample free car parking infront of the shop. The menu is a combination of different dinner combos. I have always ordered couples combo and it's a ton of food enough for a group of 3. The food is always fresh and tasty. The meat is cooked to perfection. It's a self service restaurant and there are ample tables. Definitely recommend to bookmark this restaurant in your todo list! read more

Really great food for a snowy day! Totally came by here by chance and it was nice to see these guys open late. I ordered the lamb shank with Afghani rice (new to me!) and it was delicious. The lamb was very succulent, the rice flavourful, and the portion huge! Quick service and friendly people. I would say this place is a solid 3.5 stars, but I will round up. I came here yesterday night. Service is good and portions are good. You get a lot of rice and a baked naan, some salad (too much sauce though) and a meat. I had the beef tikka. I recommend this dish. Meat was seasoned perfectly and was nice and moist. Wish there was more though. 1 skewer for 11.99 is fair but the meat to rice ratio is a little off. My friend had the pork chops and a mango lasse . I felt the 4 pieces were a little on the over done side and were quite thin. Not worth ordering that again. The mango lasse was tasty but you get a pretty small glass for $2.99. On Boxing Day 2022 I had to serve 10 people for my husbands 65th bday he loves Afghan food. I called the restaurant at 11:30 and spoke with the owner. Awesome guy! Listen to my request since I had no idea what to get. He suggested the two Family Max combos (beef & chicken). It included a mix of various kabobs, tandoori, spicy beef hamburger patties of sorts. Those flat ones done on skewers. The meat was so fresh not overcooked and perfect spice blend. Then there was a huge tray of kabuli palow rice !! That was amazing. A mixed family size salad that had crunchy shaved red cabbage and other veg in it, I think my sister ate almost half the tray herself it was that good (they forgot a dressing for it but I whipped up one at home). 2 types of korma to dip the homemade huge sized naan into. Also included these unique pancakes stuffed with potato, onions & spices. A side of Awesome Afghan dumplings topped with chick peas & a yogurt sauce. Garlic dipping sauce for the meats and this spicy tomato dip (kinda like a middle eastern salsa, very spicy. We loved it). It was more than enough for 10 people with a bit of leftovers. I suggest ordering direct instead of using the delivery apps (more $) and picking up. I wish I could remember all the proper names of the dishes but I don't . Will definitely order again. Misleading pictures ! It shows the borani bademjan as a whole casserole of eggplants for $10. However we got a thin slice cut into three small pieces. It is a huge rip off for the price! Living in Mississsauga, Afghani places are in abundance and I have probably been to most of the places here. So instead of the chain Bamiyan, I decided to check out this lesser reviewed Afghan Cuisine. It was probably the most forgettable experience that I have had. The bad? Trays upon trays with dirty dishes greet you as soon as you walk through the front doors. Not a great impression. Clientele was also a bit depressing, people with sullen faces, eating alone. Whereas at some place like Watan, usually I see large groups dining, and most of the time, they're smiling and laughing. The good? The food was decent, good value at $7.99 for a select dishes for lunch that lasts up to 3pm. Again, food was good, but forgettable. If I was in the immediate area, I wouldn't mind coming back here, but it certainly wouldn't be my Top 10 choices. read more

This humble shop a few doors down from Bamiyan Kabob is a quaint restaurant that provides an ideal setting for a small to medium sized gathering (1-10 people). The interior can be compared to big-name family friendly restaurants. And they have a good number of booths and tables. At 6pm, on a weekday, many tables were available. The menu focuses on their meat offerings; however, they have a good number of vegetarian dishes as well. I ordered the chicken kabob combo that includes 6 chunks of mildly spiced meat accompanied by a salad and a bed of rice with a side of naan bread. The chicken was very juicy and tender. The salad is primarily shredded lettuce with a few pieces of tomato, onion, and cucumber. Basic but delicious. The rice isn't the traditional Afghani rice but very aromatic. I think the biggest accomplishment is that this place converted my ever-skeptical dinner companion. Although he was curious initially about the "new flavors" that were testing his palate, by the end of the meal, he was looking at the menu and telling me about what he would order next time. I consider this a significant win. Service is friendly. You have to go up to a counter to order and pay at the beginning of the meal (as appears to be common with Afghani restaurants) and then they will call your number when it is ready. However, it is served on appropriate dinnerware. They are efficient at cleaning up after customers finish and appear flexible to accommodate customers not familiar with the cuisine. Price point is higher than Kabul-Tehran but the portions are about equal. I feel I must point out that Afghan cuisine charges an additional $2 for rice. Went for take out and ordered a chicken kebob wrap today and went home and found a FLY in the wrap...and called to let them know how disappointed I was....and to speak to a manager...but the two girls working in front refused to give any sort of complaint process or the manager's number...stating it is "private." Also, there was no chicken "kebobs" in the order itself (expected chunks of white BBQ meat since they charge more for a kebob wrap $8+tax) It was small stringy meat with lots of skin and fat which real chicken kebobs don't have. Very disappointing in taste as well. I had used go to and have a great dine in experiences their and this not something I expected from them. They have no customer service and just deny any sort of customer satisfaction. So will have to write to restaurant association about the lack of standards. Really disappointed in the quality, taste and customer service. No training in how to care of their customers and their own false advertising of ingredients in their foods. Also, the flavouring, texture and portion size of their meat dishes e.g. karhai beef seekh and spicy tandoori chicken cubes, have deteriorated noticeably. When this place is on point, it's honestly amazing. While I've been here so many times where it was 5* amazing, there have also been a few instances of 4* Great and 3* ho-hum average. Regardless, 9 times out of 10 it's epic. Must tries: Chicken Seekh Kabob (ground chicken grilled on skewers) Beef tikka (tenderloin steak) Chapli Kabob (spicy burger style patties) Tandoori Chicken Tikka (marinated & grilled pieces of chicken breast) Grilled Chicken Tikka (marinated & grilled pieces of chicken breast - not spicy) Also their Firnee dessert is amazing if you like rice pudding or custard type desserts. The place looks like a very expensive restaurant... I like the interior design, the girl I brought here a couple of weeks ago really liked the food and place. Lunch special is now $10.99. Not a good deal for lunch at all as they see giving only $1.00 off the regular price. The tandoori chicken pieces are so much smaller than Bamiyan's and too much rice. Small basic salad with few pieces of small tomatoes and cucumbers and swimming in dressing. Does not come with a naan. I think next time I'll be going to Bamiyan since its only a dollar difference and their salad alone is to die for. read more
