Kabob Guys is an Afghan grill on the corner of Richmond and Spadina, and it's exactly the kind of place I love discovering. The restaurant has a casual, welcoming feel with communal seating and a few two-top tables. While there were only a handful of people dining in, they were doing a brisk takeout business, and it was easy to see why. From the moment I walked in, everyone was warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. I ordered the chicken tandoori and the shish kebab with their flavorful garam rice, and everything was outstanding. Both kebabs were tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The garam rice was aromatic, fluffy, and packed with flavor. Everything arrived fresh, hot, and made to order, with just the right amount of spice to enhance the food without overpowering it. One thing I especially appreciated was finding a meal that felt fresh and wholesome. Sometimes it seems like every chicken place serves something fried or overly heavy, so this was exactly what I was looking for. The restaurant was spotless, the service was excellent, and the downtown location makes it an easy stop whether you're grabbing takeout or sitting down for a meal. This was easily my favorite meal in Toronto so far, and I'll definitely be back. I saw they have paneer wrap in their menu so wanted to try that for some time. The restaurant has lot of seating space and nice ambiance. The staff was courteous as I placed a takeout order for Paneer Wrap and Fries. They forgot to put in fries! But the paneer wrap was good. Wow finally we now have an authentic and delicious Afghan restaurant in the heart of Toronto's entertainment district! We normally go to East York just to get our Afghani food cravings, but not anymore. We decided to try their Double Kabob Platters - Sultan & Wazir which includes aromatic brown Basmati rice, traditional Afghan salad, freshly baked Naan, 2 skewers of meat and sauces. The Beef Tikka & Classic Chicken skewers are soft and tender on the inside and beautifully charred on the outside. The Shish Kofta Kabob is jam-packed with flavours from the seasoning/spices and seared to perfection. And to satisfy your sweet tooth, the Mango Smoothie is creamy and delicious and meant to be enjoyed alongside any Afghani meal. Service was also exemplary with Swati the order taker/cashier having a pleasant attitude and providing great customer service by being helpful and knowledgeable. Stopped by with a friend because we were in the mood for kabobs. The space was clean and not very crowded on a Tuesday night. I got the tandoori chicken wrap and my friend got a double kabob platter with shish kabob and tandoori chicken. The wrap was great, definitely could've had more sauces for the flavor. The chicken pieces were a bit dry and chewy. The beef kabob and the basmati rice were probably the stars. Really tasty. read more

I walk by this storefront over the years and see various restaurants come and go. Welcome Kabob Guys! Grilled meats, tasty rice, salad, and bread on the side. I like the red sauce as it does have a kick to it. The yogurt is cooling. A very well-portioned meal. Lots of seating if you choose to dine-in. Takeout is packed well and the food maintained a good temperature. The person behind the counter greeted me with a smile and this warm interaction was noted. read more

Pick up was quick and easy. Their oven was broken, naan was not available so they gave us a free pop. Expected more salad but overall the portions were generous. I was in the downtown core area and was kind of craving a wrap, I would usually go to my usual place for middle eastern cuisine. It is on the corner of Spadina and Richmond, so it's a prime spot for downtown fast food eatery. Ordered a chicken wrap, it was loaded with lettuce, tomatoes and onions. Not sure what they added for sauce, must be tzatziki or something dairy. If I'm in the area, I'll try something else on their menu. read more

This outpost of The Kabob Guys just opened up at Spadina and Queen. We ordered for pickup via Ritual and got the Wakil Kabob and the Grand Wazir Kabob. The Wakil Kabob came with 1 tandoori chicken kabob and one traditional shish kabob alongside rice, salad, naan and two sauces - one red hot sauce and one white garlic sauce. The Grand Wazir Kabob was the same, but came with an extra shish kabob. Food portions are INSANE! Each meal easily makes two - or one massive hungry man portion. The rice is brown basmati and super tasty. Salad comes with a delicious dressing already mixed in. I'm happy they've arrived in the neighbourhood. Will definitely be going back for more! read more

Really good! Ordered the Malek (2 chicken kebabs -- 1 tikka I think and the other regular). Also came with rice, naan, and small salad and two small sauces. The chicken was cooked perfectly-- not dry-- and full of flavor. The rice was seasoned and rich. Salad was smaller than I'd hope, but I like how the container kept it cold while I walked it home. I've been ordering a couple meals every week since Kabob Guys opened at the Spadina location. The food is always good which is why I keep returning every week. I wanted to share some feedback with the owner who I met a few times and enjoyed some small talk with. Tonight we ordered two meals and the women working the counter made a huge fuss about us requesting an extra side of white sauce. It's such a small thing but the women made a big fuss embarrassing my wife at the counter. I know costs are rising but refusing to provide an extra small side sauce to regular customers feels like s step to far. We got the extra white sauce but were told we couldn't have the side hot sauce that comes with each meal (essentially, a swap of side sauces). Again, I'm a big fan of this place but these types of decisions are very short sighted and leave a bad impression with customers (especially customers that supported you since your opening day). read more
