The vibes are welcoming, kind, and hopeful. Find a spot at the bar or at a table and let this wonderful staff take care of you. While the drinks are exceptional, they have some truly unique green teas from Japan. Whether you'd like matcha or straight up Sencha Green tea, you'll be so happy with your choice. Take a moment and find your way to this gem in ABQ!

There's quite a bit of indoor seating and I saw friends meeting up for a chat as well as people studying or reading by themselves; so it's a very multifunction bar/cafe. Service was very quick and when I had questions about the difference between the two matcha teas I was debating between, the barista actually brought out both matcha tins for me to look at the color and scent. Their menu has been updated to have 3 types of matcha available and sadly I didn't photograph it as the photos here are the previous matcha offerings. Both matcha powders are a fresh vibrant green and one smells more nutty/bitter (the one I opted for) vs the other that smells more sweet. Hot Matcha Tea 4/5, this was great and I got some agave syrup on the side if I wanted sweetener. Price wise this is $$ given the size of the tea Sea Salt Chocolate Cookie 4/5, this was a lovely dark chocolate bitter cookie that paired well with the sea salt and the tea

The owners, Robin and Lee, really know their tea (Lee is from Taiwan and Robin lived there for a number of years). I went for their St. Patrick's day themed afternoon tea "Dublin Delights" and really enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. The Fragrant Leaf also has classes in tea appreciation. Highly recommend.

Ciao you silly bird.

That said it's adorable and nicely decorated inside. You get a couple of hours with multiple courses in your own private room. They have recommendations for the tea pairings with the various courses but you can choose your own and there's one heck of a selection. The staff is knowledge and will give you recommendations on what (if anything) to add to your tea to really bring out the flavor as far as cream and sugar goes. We did the non-alcoholic service and the food and tea were both amazing. There was plenty of food in the three courses. They have limited ability to accommodate dietary needs, but were able to do this for just one member of our party without forcing the others that ad no restrictions to that particular menu item. It didn't matter though, it was all delicious. Anyway, this was an excellent experience and I highly recommend it.
