I've long been a fan of Na Hoku. I've purchased items from them online, since sadly there is no physical location less than a 4-hour drive for me. But I have visited a few of their locations when I was visiting other cities on the West Coast. This Seattle store was the one I've visited most recently, and it did not disappoint. Stunning collection of all sorts of jewels. This is the kind of jewelry store that I label as carrying designs that are described as "understated elegance." Every one of their pieces is expertly crafted, beautifully designed and set and truly unique. Erika assisted me on this visit. She was extremely knowledgeable about everything Na Hoku has to offer and she was patient, kind and so helpful. Excellent service at the Lahina ))and the Bellevue stores. High quality jewelry not inexpensive but quality and service make it worth it. They are " The real deal. ". My story- The earrings i bought in Lahina needed adjustment. I called Bellevue and the staff were extremely helpful even - I was not even buying anything. I went back to add a pendant a few months later. Today i completed the set with a ring - staff again very helpful with matching the color- offered to send a gold ring with the correct color pearl to the factory with the white gold ring i wanted to switch the pearls and to size it without additional charge. I know that nothing is "free" but the service, the fact that they remembered me 5 months later and being gracious counts! read more

I accidentally damaged a pair of earrings I received as a gift for Christmas and was so heart broken. Their customer service was so nice and responsive through email and told me to go in store because they could evaluate it for repairs. The people in the store were so nice and replaced the earrings for me. Made my whole year! My boyfriend also said when he purchased them originally they were super thoughtful with showing him options and very kind! We shopped at this store many times. I like their jewelry designs and they have gorgeous mother of pearl/diamonds pieces (the only complaint about their items is the quality of earring locks; I bought a few earings at Na Hokuand lost one because the lock was not working, two other earrings have the same issue, and they were very expensive). I bought lots of items in the store for myself and as gifts. However, when you shop there and you leave 15K+ a year, you expect a good customer service at least out of desire to retain a frequent customer. A background of my experience: I started shopping at Na Hoku after I had an amazing experience with their Hawaiian representative who was in their Bellevue location during holiday season. I did not know anything about this brand, but that lady was so sweet, knowledgeable yet not desperate to sell she showed me multiple pieces and told a story behind the brand. I did not buy anything during that visit but returned a few days later with my husband and purchased two items. I liked those items and surely enough I kept coming back to the store because I had such a great first experience. However, lately (especially last year) I started getting more and more pressure to buy when I went into the store. My nature is that I like to look at the jewelry and come back and buy it. I have a feeling that their wages are partially made of commission and unlike in many other jewelry stores they started pressuring me to buy on a spot. Because of this pressure I stopped even walking into a store to look for something new when passing by like I used to before. The last issue was when I wanted to return an item (still within their 21 days of return time). The moment I said a word "return", their "aloha" and smile on a rep's and a blond manager's faces went away and especially the manager treated me really disrespectfully, totally patronizing me. I am leaving a one star because the bottom line is: You need to know how to treat your customers. Period. The jewelers can make nice pieces, but when you pressure a customer to buy and make it so hard to return an item and deliver a quality service beyond a purchase, the customer will likely go to shop somewhere else next time. Under no circumstances you should patronize your customer especially when you are making a few thousand dollars from her/him every purchase and the customer did not do wrong. Sadly, I will be taking my business somewhere else. But if someone from Na Hoku headquarters is reading this, you should differently change your manager (a blond lady) here in Bellevue and make sure you train your team to deliver a customer service to match your jewelry brand. read more

Brought my previously purchased watch into the store for a small repair, thinking it would need to be shipped out, and could not have been happier with the level of friendliness, service, and courtesy I received. Taysha fixed and cleaned my watch on the spot, and was pleasant and helpful. Love their jewelry. She showed us a couple of other pieces of jewelry we liked while waiting. Wow just experienced the worst Customer Service from "Nancy" in regards to my $700 watch purchased 14 months ago...still under warranty. My Fiancee and I spent $2k one day 14 months ago...My watch and her ring...Customer Service was excellent that day but not today when having an issue. I brought my watch, with box and like new condition in today to discuss why it suddenly stopped working. She immediately asked if I tried getting a new battery. I responded I was there because it's under warranty. She then asked how did I know that? Surprising to get that question and the tone she used. Having Accounts with Ben Bridge and Jared, you don't get spoken to this way. I followed my response with can you please look at what the warranty covers since you have questions, I had already checked it was 2yrs. She said "no, I'll just send it to Hawaii". I said that's fine, can you please do a condition check before I turn it over to you? She said "we don't do that, do you not trust us?" Again, horrible way to respond to a Customer. At this point I told her I really felt like she didn't want to even help me and acted in the exact opposite manner as any Jeweler I've ever experienced. She seemed perplexed and offended by that. I told her I would go downstairs to Ben Bridge and have them look into it and then fix it. She did not respond. We both said we'd never purchase anything in the store ever again, no response as we left. This woman was a clear example of only caring about a Customer that is intent on buying not needing service on a previous purchase. Ben Bridge is a real Jeweler, Na Hoku is a joke. read more

Kind of random to review a chain store in a mall, but I had a happy experience here and wanted to ramble! :) Martha here was SUPER DUPER SWEET. She was really helpful in helping me find matching jewelry for a special occasion. She would point out affordable options to me ($40 necklaces vs $400), while also humoring me and let me try on a blingtastic $7k necklace for fun, knowing full well I wasn't going to buy it, ever. I always feel intimidated walking into jewelry stores, where sometimes the salespeople can be really snobby (WHY?!) and judge me by what I'm already wearing and basically not give me the time of day. I felt really appreciative that there was such a patient and enthusiastic salesperson in a store with beautiful jewelry, and will be back (once my wallet recovers). read more

I had a very negative experience with the Bellevue, WA store. Although their jewelry is beautiful, they have poor customer service, they seem shady, and they do not stand behind their products. Bottom line, if you buy a piece of jewelry from any Na Hoku store and it falls apart after just two months (due to no fault of your own) they will not replace it unless there was a "manufacturer's defect" (which entails sending the jewelry to Hawaii for several weeks before a decision can be made). In other words, Na Hoku does not guarantee that its jewelry can withstand normal wear for any amount of time. You would think that a classy jewelry store would guarantee that their jewelry can hold up for at least a year. Furthermore, the store employees seem to be trained to use any tactic necessary to make you feel like you're crazy, or that the damage was your fault. Anyway, here's my story: I purchased a pendant and a $160 gold chain from Charlene less than 3 months ago. Over the last couple of months, the chain started to slowly twist and curl to the point where I couldn't wear the necklace anymore. I brought the necklace into the store assuming that it would be a quick visit and they would exchange my chain for a new one. I mean, if you care about your customers, you wouldn't make them pay $160 for a chain that can't withstand 2 months of normal wear, right? WRONG!! Not only was I told by Charlene and the district manager, Tiffany, that they could not exchange my chain for a new one, but they had the audacity to completely blame me for the chain falling apart! Tiffany came right out and rudely accused me of "pulling" on the chain, as if I was some idiot who didn't know how to take care of jewelry (and she made this accusation in front of 4 other employees who stopped everything just to watch me. It was very embarrassing). And for the record, I did not do anything unusual to this chain. I simply wore it for 2 months and apparently it stretched out on it's own to the point where it could no longer be worn. This was obviously not a chain that was meant to be worn every day. And when I first bought the chain, I had told Charlene that I needed something durable enough for me to wear everyday. She assured me that the chain was very durable and could withstand everyday wear. Apparently not! In the end, I was really getting the feeling that it was standard protocol for the employees to blame the customer whenever a customer tried to return something, regardless of whether or not the customer actually did anything wrong. Very shady No matter how many times I told them that I had not done anything unusual to this chain, they just kept telling me that the damage was my fault and that they couldn't do anything to help me. I walked out of there almost in tears and ready to throw up. They had blamed me simply for wearing the necklace, and they couldn't care less about losing a customer. The only reason why I am giving this store 2 stars instead of 1, is because the main office in Hawaii eventually agreed to replace my chain. But it took writing this negative review and two weeks of correspondence via e-mail before they agreed to replace the chain. In my opinion, this chain should have been replaced when I first brought it into the store. Na Hoku should guarantee not only that their products are free from defects, but that their jewelry can actually be worn for a certain amount of time without falling apart. And if it does fall apart, Na Hoku should empower their store managers to make the final decision as to whether or not a piece should be replaced (instead of having to wait weeks for their corporate offices in Hawaii to make a decision). For my purchase of plain gold hoop earrings Na Hoku didn't stand by their product. One of the hoops clasps stopped working within 2 months and the earrings sat in the pouch provided by the store. I finally brought it in for repair. They sent the hoop to their main store and after several weeks calls to tell me I would have to pay $35 for the repair. Martha was very sweet and helpful, and she really took her time with us showing us all our options but didn't pressure us to buy more than we could afford. We really enjoyed our experience with her. I bought a Hawaiian Heirloom ring from Na Hoku in Honolulu. I bought it with the plumeria design to match my bracelets. When I got the ring in the mail I was very disappointed that there was no plumeria in the back of the ring just a square. Then it wasn't even 6 months old and the enamel came off of a couple of the letters. I went to the Na Hoku store in Bellevue Square and the lady who helped me said it was my responsibility to ask whether or not the plumeria would be in the back of the ring. I had too much lettering and supposedly the plumeria wouldn't fit so they put a square. Too bad I wasn't told at the store when I bought it. I also never had problems with the enamel coming off of other rings and bracelets. The lady at the store said well the ring has a lifetime warranty for the enameling. So I have to go in there every 6 months?! I will not be shopping there again!!! read more

Had a super unpleasant experience with "Krystal" who was extremely rude and condescending about their return policy, 21 days... When u fly home from Maui... Buy it as a gift and have to find the unlikely store in the states? Had the receipt, etc. Then I asked about a gift card or store credit - that does not exist... My husband bought me a ring from Na Hoku in Maui. Less than 3 months later a small diamond fell out. They said that they guaranteed their quality of work. It took 2 months for the repair before I got my ring back, fixed. Then 2 months later the exact diamond fell out. So we took the ring back for repairs. One month later they called with an "update." "It will be 8 to 12 weeks before they can finish the ring. Truly unacceptable. So now almost 4 weeks later they call again to "update" me, that my wearing the ring caused the diamond to fall out and that I would need to pay for the repairs. That there was some scratches on the ring. Am I only to wear the ring when not using my hands? I replied that IF it had been fixed correctly it would not have fallen out. The woman said she would report my concerns to her supervisors. So far no ring. Not happy at all with this store or my purchase at all. read more

My family has been shopping at Na Hoku stores for years. We were excited when they moved into Bell-square many years ago. They have very high quality jewelry at reasonable prices. The detail in the artwork is amazing. It's fun to collect entire sets as your budget allows. Prices can range from the very rich to low income. The customer service has been excellent every time. I would defiantly recommend this store to others. If you're on a budget let them know your price range. read more

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. You have to keep in mind people go online to rave about bad experiences as a way to vent if the company won't listen. This company doesn't judge its customers by their clothing to pin an income level. I've generally have had decent customer service here. I have heard customers moan and complain about warranties but from their stories it's their own fault for going beyond the warranty time frame before returning/exchanging it. If Bellevue Square wasn't so far away form my home base I would come here more often. It's nice to find some what decent quality jewelry for an affordable price. read more
