First of all, if you haven't been to Montrose, this was my first time, I highly recommend a visit. Main Street has an old-time feel, with plenty of cute restaurants and interesting shops. One of those restaurants is the black cow Café. The menu is very diverse with plenty of healthy and vegetarian options. I had the black bean burger, and it was delicious. I had planned on ordering the bean chili. I really appreciated my server who asked me if I ate meat, the bean chili did have meat in it even though it didn't say so on the menu as far as I could tell. She could've easily just taken my order, but instead she took the extra step to make sure I understood what I was ordering. All in all, I had a great experience here and would certainly recommend if you happen to be in the area.

After scouting several nearby locations, I decided I was in the mood for a great cinnamon roll. Sweet Demi Lune Bakery & Café looked like the place that would deliver the experience I was seeking. SDLBC is listed as being in Glendale, but it's located in the historic Old Town of Montrose. That's beside the point; I only mention it because there are additional places to explore just up the street. We arrived around 3:00 p.m. on a Saturday, and there wasn't much of a selection left, including the highly sought-after cinnamon roll. The gentleman behind the counter greeted us warmly, and I immediately asked if that was all the pastries they had. He said yes. I contemplated leaving because of the nonexistent cinnamon roll, but I didn't want to be rude, so I decided to give the bakery a try since we were already there. So, we basically took half of what remained behind the glass display case: a Peach Almond Croissant, a Raspberry Pistachio Croissant, an Almond Croissant, and then my curiosity focused on a few lonely-looking pastries that were unfamiliar to my discerning eyes. I asked the gentleman what they were, and he replied with something that sounded completely foreign to me: Kouign-Amann. Kouign-Amann (pronounced queen ah-MAHN) is a traditional pastry from the region of Brittany, France. It is often considered one of the richest pastries in the world because it is made with just a few simple ingredients in generous proportions: bread dough, butter, and sugar. Figuring we needed a few more sweets for the road, we took all the remaining Kouign-Amanns. Two were the traditional version, and the other two were filled with crème and blueberry jam. We also ordered a Café Americano and a Café Mocha. While we waited for our drinks, I simply couldn't wait any longer. Like a kid on Christmas morning, I eagerly opened my gift and dug right into the Kouign-Amann. Hesitantly, I tore off a tiny piece with my fingers, expecting nothing extraordinary, and instantly gave birth to a brand-new experience that exploded in my mouth. The crisp exterior gave way to the soft, flaky center, followed by waves of what tasted like delicate honey. I tore off another piece and shared it with my wife. One look at her eyes told me she wanted more. By the time our drinks were ready, we had devoured one of the Kouign-Amanns and confessed to the gentleman behind the counter that we had just experienced pure ecstasy in the form of a pastry. Kouign-Amann is, in fact, one of the richest pastries in the world, so don't let the unfamiliar name keep you from trying one. The Café Americano and the Café Mocha were also exceptionally well prepared. With everything that's happening in the world these days, a simple yet profound experience like this reminded me how wonderful life can still be. Like Arnold said... "I'll be back." Enjoy!

The service was good, and there's one more thing I forgot to mention and that's the homemade tortillas. They were way too thick. Other than that, I'd come here again and try some other dishes.

Hi, I came here with my friend after seeing this place on TikTok..we came earlier than my bday to obviously check it out to see if it would pass the vibe check...it didn't. When you walk in it's smaller than you think and it's also a market which is alright. The whole plan was to come grab a coffee and leave. When we got there at first we were gushing over the place because it itself was cute but when we went to ask to buy a simple to go coffee they kept redirecting us to the outside front check in then the inside desk in the market. We were told to go order outside in the front and wait for someone to be with us,which that in itself took a while. After being a tiny bit frustrated with the service we asked once more where we could go to purchase a coffee to go and they told us outside in the front, after our third time of walking back and forth from inside to outside. We were then waiting to order inside once more...I asked very politely if their fruit on display was good since I'd never tried it and the lady looked at me lost considering she could really understand me which I understood and wasn't upset by, so I looked over to ask someone else how the fruit was since I was considering buying it and that lady translated to the other lady what I said with this weird tone..they all seemed very like distant and not very welcoming and kept answering my questions like with this almost duhh attitude..we decided to just leave and grab coffee else where. I don't think I'd be returning solely for the fact that the employees didn't make me feel welcomed and kinda awkward and the food itself looked mid. If you need tips on how to run your business I'd suggest maybe having a meeting to ensure the employees have a more welcoming energy since their aura was off putting. The food was delicious I recommend trying the chicken ceaser wrap or the dubai chocolate crepe which is my favorite. Those two items were something I hadn't seen before at any other place. Which i was okay with both because i have a hotspot and I understand they have prime location so their goods are going to be over priced. But the thing that really deterred me was the enforced time limit. This place has a 45 min time limit for people who only order small orders. 90 min time limit for normal restaurant orders. Also the only table that they were able to offer me was the small one next to the door so wasn't really able to really appreciate the rest of the "cafe" as seen in the photos. They told me that they are more of a restaurant than a cafe. So the name "Cafe and Lounge" was very deceiving to me, definitely not the typical type of cafe you would think of. Got the vibe that they definitely don't want solo parties here. DONT come here expecting to study or relax solo. It's more meant for big parties and groups looking to chat it up.

From start to finish, our waitress (an Asian woman) was inexplicably rude and hostile. Instead of normal, polite interaction, she was literally yelling at us throughout the entire meal. To make matters worse, she completely failed to bring basic items like proper utensils and coffee mugs. We had to constantly rely on another server to step in and fix every single mistake she made just so we could eat our meal. What happened to Bea Bea's Glendale? The other location consistently delivers fantastic customer service, but this visit was a complete mess. I really hope management addresses this behavior, because no customer should be treated this way.
