Sometimes, every once in a blue noon, when things are too good to be true they actually are. After being shafted at a Exxon station in Columbia trying to get my safety inspection since I just moved to Maryland, I went to these guys on a whim after getting 2 quotes for $750 to replace my front brake pads and disks and fix a leak in my exhaust manifold. Wow am I happy I did.
The owner was the first person I spoke to. He and Lucas, his co-mechanic, came right out and took a look at the exhaust manifold. They thought that it could be fixed without all the labor of taking the piece out which would cut down the price HUGELY. Nader, the owner, said he would make a few calls about parts and give me an estimate. He did and came up with an estimate of OVER $250 less than the other guys.
I was understandably skeptical so I took some time to think about it but in the end just came to the conclusion that it didnt seem that they weren't trying to rio me off and just wanted a new customer.
I dropped off the car and came to pick it up a day later...here is where the story gets weird. I showed up and Nader said "it'll be $483" I was pleasantly surprised that he stuck to the inexpensive estimate. But he said that he looked at the rear brakes and they needed replacing too. Here is where I thought the big scam was coming. BUT he said he already replaced them and showed me the old ones which actually were really worn down. He also said that he wanted to keep to his estimate so was still charging me 480 even though he replaced the back breaks which were not even included in the individual estimate.
He said that I could repay him for this by coming back and telling my friends that this was a honest, competent and reasonably priced repair shop. So Yelp friends, here is part of me paying him back: I am telling you....go here you will not be disappointed, I promise. read more
