My pedi was done at 5:15. She decided to take I walk in instead. (I'm pissed) I asked if the owner would do my nails if not I would go somewhere else. She said yes then took a walk in as well. Like WTH.... She said I thought you said you would go somewhere else. She only communicated that in her language amongst her peers not with me I SPEAK ENGLISH!!!!! I'm mad I only left with a pedi after I had an appointment. I'm pissed and i should have stopped going when my cousin was treated the same way. She insisted my nails had fungus and wouldn't buffer off the the remaining nail residue for the previous polish. 3/17/2023 I won't ever be coming here again. they're unreasonable high. my ombré nails were $85 because they had to use 2 different powders and they charged me another $10 for a design on 2 nails which only consisted of 2 sticker strips and 2 jewels per nail. THEN the lady who did my nails split my skin from my nail because she dug in with the file which was painful and she didn't even apologize. not to mention how they snatch your fingers and fling your hands/fingers aside. And the lady that does the pedicures is terrible. I honestly don't know why she's the designated person because she can't file, doesn't clean your nails out or manicure them well, and she doesn't do a good job of polishing and that $38 dollar pedicure jumped to $56 because I got gel polish. she does $20 pedicures at best. idc if people do post good reviews of this place but the prices and service are ridiculous. read more

I have been getting my mani/pedi's done by one of the technicians for years and have had no better. I have tried other places but this tech is the BEST. She also takes care of my husband's feet and has basically gotten his ingrown nail problem under control. Recently the shop has had a bit of a face lift and really looks nice and is very comfortable. The downside is they seem to attract spectacularly rude walk-in customers who are generally disruptive to a really pleasant place to have your nail done. read more

I got right in on a Friday afternoon before Christmas. The lady who did my pedicure was super sweet and gave me a very nice massage. It was my first time getting a dip manicure. The owner of the shop gave me a gel manicure and and cut a large amount of my skin, to where I had blood rushing down my hand. It was of course on accident, but he did not apologize nor discounted my bill. I asked for a discount and he laughed and said "oh no discount, the cut will heal". To make it even worse, once he ran my card he "accidentally" charged my card an extra $3 and refused to refund me the extra $3 he charged me. I told him I would most certainly write my experience on yelp and will never come back! He laughed once again and offered me $3 off my next visit. I declined the offer. Horribly rushed incomplete service. The nail techs at N&J are very rude and will rush you out the door before your pedicure is even dry. Then a younger nail tech walked in the door halfway through my pedicure and without washing her hands or anything proceeded to sit down next to my chair yank my arm to the side and start haphazardly gluing the plastic acrylic tips crookedly to the edges of my nails. After they started trying to rush me over to the nail station to finish my full set I told them to kindly remove the tips because I didn't want any further service from them. HORRIBLE!..I went with my friend to enjoy a girls day out and had the worst service! The lady that did my pedicure didn't do a great job, leaving dried skin on my heel . The man that did my dip gel manicure did a horrible job as well ,within 4 days two nails were broken and all of the other were lifting at the cuticle..I went back to confront the man that did my nails and he acted as if he didn't understand how my nails could be this bad (yet he was the one that did my nails) he offered to "fix" them but they looked so bad..I just took it as a loss..there's was no way he could have "fixed them" without taking them off..and if not they would have been toooo thick!..I wouldn't recommend this place ever..save your money ladies/gents! read more

I had a good experience at this nail shop. One girl did my manicure and another did my pedicure simultaneously, so I was in and out in no time. They both talked to me while working and were very personable. I asked them for their opinion on the color since I was trying something new and they were adament that I go with the purple that had a shimmer to it. I was very pleased with my pedicure here. I was in & out in less than an hour, and the price was very good, $22 before my tip. I went early-afternoon and did not have to wait long, just 2 or 3 manicures were being done. My polish job is perfect, smooth and symmetrical. Unlike other places the lady did not put me in pain while going to town on my cuticles or under the nails. One time at a place out west, I thought the lady was pushing bamboo under my toenails-- torture! The pedicurist I had here, Lisa, was gentle and I was never uncomfortable. They provide the massage-chair-spa-pedicures but no paraffin wax-- oh well, I did not miss it. I always bring my own nail color and flipflops. Also I think I saw a sign advertising a special, they will rub on an exfoliating scrub treatment for $5 extra, fyi. I'm a fan of this place now and will be back! (So long, Ladue Nails and Fancy Nail.) Incidentally, I saw lots of people come there for the brow wax, but I don't wax, it's eyebrow threading for me all the way (for 7 yrs now), I either go to the place on Ballas (I-browse) near WCoMall, or the place on Delmar in the Loop. Anyone who gets their nails done knows that it should take 30 minutes tops. The technician was on her phone the entire time she was assisting me. She would occasionally talk to the other tech and they would look at me and laugh, most likely talking about me. I will never go back for as long as I live. So, this place isn't as shiny and modern as Ladue Nails, but it is cheaper, as clean, and definitely has more personality. They have massage chairs, magazines and a TV, so it's definitely very comfortable. I have really gross dancer feet and unfortunately can't afford pedicures every week. Rose does a fantastic job of scrubbing and scraping them (only when asked, I've seen her be gentle with other customers), which is exactly what my feet need. She's also very personable and cheerful, never pushy about doing other (more expensive) procedures. Definitely check this place out! read more

I used to be a regular at this place, but my family has been disrespected not one, not two, but THREE times here. My little sister went here a little over a year ago to get a routine eyebrow wax. The lady STRIPPED my sister's and barely left any hair. It took my sister over 6+ months for her eyebrows to grow out and she had to fill them in every day to undo the damage. I decided to give them a break thinking this was a one time mistake and I took my older sister to N&J today. We went earlier in the day and waited over 15 minutes for an eyebrow wax. We had to leave and come back because they were taking so long. When we came back the second time, she was seen immediately, however, the lady that was going to do her eyebrows made rude comments. My sister showed her an older picture of herself for reference and she was adamant about not being able to shape them. She said "her eyebrows are messed up" multiple times. As a result, we left N&J and my sister was able to do her eyebrows on her own. We think it was just because she was incompetent. My family and I will not be returning to N&J ever. read more

I have been going here for a number of years. This is a family owned business and they know the importance of good customer service. They are quick and professional. They know my name and voice on the phone and when I come in - I call it the "Cheers" of Nail Salons! It's nice for everyone to know your name..... Philip, the owner and his wife Sam run the business. Both work on nails and make sure you don't wait too long. I always call and make an appt. and I do so within an hour of wanting to be there. I see many come and go without appts but do realize that they are busy and you may have to wait....never very long...if you don't make an appt. As far as atmosphere, they have recently added more TVs (so those sitting in pedicure chairs don't have to turn sideways - another comittment to customer service). Pricing is right. Well I've heard lots of good things about this salon and I live very close so I decided to try them out today. Very very good. I went in for a mani/pedi and a brow wax. They got me in and out in less than an hour - even with paying extremely close attention to every detail. The only thing that I did not like very much was the water was extremely hot and turned my feet red. Other than that, I can't complain. It started off what seemed to be ok. It quickly went left when I asked for powder for your nails. I wanted the color to match. Couldn't find the color so I decided to stick with the gel nails because i just knew they had the matching colors which that's what I was told. None of the colors match, they have cheap products and want to charge you regular prices. I have been to other nail shops matching colors isnt out of the ordinary. The nail tech was rude, petulant, unproffesional. She stated "I don't know what else to do". I was shocked, the owner was rude also and has no respect for the people that keep them in business.
