Little did I know that Royal-Reed was literally located minutes away from my office! Nestled in St. Ann. The website to book your appointment was simplistic enough to follow. When I had a question, I was able to speak with someone immediately, who was friendly and kind on the other end. When I arrived, I was immediately taken up for my appointment - by chance, not by the person I originally booked with, but the owner instead. Mrs. Reed was so sweet. A wonderful conversationalist and entrepreneur. She informed me that her business was approaching their 5th year soon and described to me her vision for the future to help educate others in the profession. She was also able to explain to me of how to better care for my nail care concerns. When I got my pedicure however, I was placed with Dawn who is an up and coming artist. Baby...when I tell you she put work in on my feet, she put some work in. THE BEST PEDICURE I HAVE EVER HAD!! My feet were so smooth leaving the salon. Mind you, my appointment was on December 28th and the heels of my feet are STILL smooth (it's January 10th). Overall, the salon itself was nice and carried great energy. Mrs. Reed prides herself on practicing safe care for the clients staff and her artists. Royal-Reed has definitely found a client in me.

She showed up 2 HOURS LATE on the DAY OF THE WEDDING. She didn't answer an email the day before sent to all MUAs containing the schedule and details (we had 5 MUAs, we had a huge bridal party). She didn't answer my phone calls the morning of until the time she was supposed to be there. Then she texted me to ask me WHERE she was supposed to be. Her lateness cost us THOUSANDS of dollars because it threw the entire days schedule off. Our photographer & videographer sat idle for 2 hours & I'm not in the family portraits because I gave my slot with a different MUA to one of her clients. On top of that, I accidentally over paid her (I had made the cash envelopes for vendors weeks in advanced). When I asked for that money back, she GHOSTED ME. In effect she STOLE from me. This woman has NO INTEGRITY. Her only explanation for her lateness was that her alarm didn't go off and she didn't remember that she has contracted for a wedding that morning because it's typically her day off. This was after she charged a fee for working on her day off.

This is the only place I come to to get my brows done and I can't believe this lady just lost a customer FOREVER all because she was trying to prove a point about me being on my phone. I wasn't even talking on it. I was waiting/texting. So rule of thumb when you come here, don't be on your phone at all when you come to this place.

Red flag should have been the fact that he had just walked in at the same time and immediately started my nails without any actual prep. He didn't realize that I had a gift certificate until I mentioned it part of the way into the service. When I mentioned it, he asked to see it; Second red flag since he didn't ask anything about pay at all before I mentioned that I hadn't had my nails done in a while and received it as a gift from a coworker). I showed him a gift certificate for $50. After that, he started rushing through the service. It looked fine at first when he finished. It was extremely fast (third red flag, but again, I hadn't been in a while and it genuinely looked fine from first looks), but on my drive out, I noticed that the top coat was bubbly, the gel was on my skin and chipping, the gel color was streaky and transparent. I got tip color snd could see the whites of my natural nail as if the polish had grown out, and my nail (my real nails) were filed into careless, wonky shapes. Before leaving, I actually scheduled to return to get a pedicure later that day, but I refuse to go back and spend my money there after really looking at the quality of the manicure. Long story short: I wouldn't buy a gift certificate there. They just want easy money and don't care about prospective customers. It seems you only get quality when you're a long term customer.
