I came here for the first time a couple weeks ago and the food was amazing. I'll definitely be coming back!

Was out of state for a few months and came home just yesterday. Went to Nana Good Eats for a pick up. Have to say it's as good as ever. Price may have been raised a little bit but that's everywhere! At least at Nana you get delicious quality food and definitely plenty to satisfy. So good and will be back for sure. read more

I used to love this place and would order via online apps all the time. However, recently they price hiked the chicken Shawarma platter from $14 to $22 (what in the world). I can get much better chicken platters for much less. Actually, everything in the menu increased its' price by tenfold. If you are going to increase the prices, do it in a reasonable manner. This isn't reasonable for the small amount of food you get. Little bits of chicken in pieces on top of a large amount of rice/couscus, etc. This is extremely disappointing and I will not continue to order here anymore. Ate there today for the first time. We were greeted right away and invited to the counter. The menu is large and a little intimidating, but the front staff was quick to help despite a line. They also offered free samples and we really had a great experience. All the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Sauces were perfectly paired with each salad and sandwich. We also tried the fries - not sure what the seasoning on the was but they were awesome. Kids got treated to a wonderful yummy dessert of custard with rose syrup. All together it was a 5 star experience. Clean delicious food. Big addition to our neighborhood. Will eat there over and over again. read more

The ingredients they use here are top notch. Really like the variety of fresh vegetables and salads here for the sandwiches. The workers are also very well trained and make the sandwiches/meals with a lot of care and love. Everything is executed very well. Only thing for me and this may be a personal preference is the pita bread for the sandwiches is a bit too chewy, but I gather they probably use a third party to supply that. read more

Truly excellent! This place changed my life; Whitestone is a culinary blackhole - A BLACK HOLE - so I cook and cook and cook AND I'm tired. If we do "take out" we will actually drive to pick up of from our favorite ethnic places in Astoria, Williamsburg, etc. to pick up food (sometimes even over the bridge to the Hudson Valley!) You would at least think we had good pizza around here - nope (we either make our own or drive to Manhattan to pick up form our favorite place near Harlem) THIS is how bad the food scene is around here; ESPECIALLY if you want something healthy, good luck with that (no vegan hippies in this neighborhood) We don't even have any good coffee!!!! NOW, FINALLY, I found it all: healthy (good ingredients), vegetarian and vegan options (for the days I feel like eating plant based), authentic AND I can walk to it. We have taken many of the pita sandwiches to go on picnics (including one of my favorites the Malawach) as well as family meals (even my picky child loves it) for when I am SO over cooking the whole week - like tonight. We sat there once (before the virus), and met the husband/owner when they first opened. Super hospitable, great food and VERY smart business model! My ONLY complaint is that I wish they were open at least one day a week for breakfast. As I mentioned, there is not even any good coffee in the area, and I would LOVE to wake up one morning and grab a cup of their Turkish coffee (am I making that up...they did have coffee before the pandemic right???), and enjoy some Shakshuky or Malawach and Eggs, however, 11 am is just WAY too late. I get it, they are family run and it's a lot of work, but all I am asking is maybe ONE day a week to be open for breakfast (I'm not talking crazy early - just maybe 9 am). I don't ask for much in life, just consider it : ) PS: Never leave me, at least not until I finally get out of here first! Had to visit this place based on the 52 "5 star" reviews. No negative anything? How unlikely... so I ordered... and it was great! Then I ordered more and a single mistake happened, they forgot my forks... not a big deal, so I called in to complain and was assaulted by kindness and hospitality bordering on outright love! The staff and the owner are amazing! Loved the service, love the food "great flavors, and super fresh" and guess what... this is the 53rd consecutive 5 star review for this place! Go here now!!! I was looking for a healthy, "Mediterranean-style" place for lunch, when Nana popped up in my google searches. I am so happy to have this new spot. The taste of Tel Aviv indeed! Shishlik! Shishlik in my neighborhood! That wonderful lemony saffron with a little bite of hotness! I swooned, I tell you. The shishlik platter (the whole shebang) came with a nice array of salads, each about 2-3 spoonfuls to give you the right amount of variety. I have to pause one moment more over a completely common, yet totally uncommon, side: the cous cous. Again, I've been buying the wrong type or cooking it wrong, because this grain was nutty and had a great mouth feel. My wife had the malahwah and eggs, and I am so thankful she did, because I got to have some of that amazing pastry. It's not something I can easily find, and frankly, I don't bother unless I'm in Israel. It's so, so good. And of course, the lemonade, because mint lemonade in the states is just not quite right. The bright green fresh flavor meant I had to have a second one to take home. I don't get to Israel often enough, and the kosher Israeli restaurants in Kew Gardens make me feel awkward in my very not-Orthodox clothing. Having Nana just 10 minutes away in Whitestone will literally change my dining life. read more

First time ordering from here. Ordered the falafel, moroccan cigars & the chickpea salad. The falafel is phenomenal. One of the best I've tasted. Crispy on the outside and tender inside. Didn't like the flavor of the cigars and the chickpea salad was good, but the chickpeas needed to be cooked longer. I like my chickpeas softer. read more

Giving three stars as the restaurant charged me a credit card fee that left a bad taste with me. I understand you have to pay a fee to utilize a merchant service, however, it should be considered the cost of doing business for the business owner. I don't feel it's right for any business to charge its consumers a fee for a service the business is using. Hubby took me here yesterday as he raved about the food the one time he ate here. And he was right. Ordered the falafel which was very tasty and not spicy. I never had specifically Israeli food before, so wanted to give this place a try when I learned about it. It's clean inside and the team is very friendly. They explained anything that I was confused about on the menu, and actually did not make suggestions, which to me showed their confidence in all the dishes. I had the Sabich, which was honestly the best I ever had. Fresh herbs on top, each bite with tons of flavor, very delicious! It's located in a nondescript strip mall and the storefront doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is incredible. The falafel is the best falafel I have ever had (granted I have never been to the Middle East). It is perfectly crispy on the outside with a non-homogenous texture on the inside that has some smooth parts mixed with some crunchy parts. Aside from the falafel, the other goodies stuffed into the pita look and taste very fresh and well-prepared. I especially love the pickles! The tahini is also very flavorful, as are the other sauces. I especially enjoy the pink sauce. I've also tried the sabich pita, which was something I had never had before, and I enjoyed that as well. So far, these two things are all I've tried, but they are so well done that I am excited to try the rest of the menu. I'm so happy this place opened up near home. read more

This was by far, the absolute best falafel I have ever eaten. The seasoning was spot on vs the bland mush that usually passes for falafel. I really enjoyed the pickled veggies that were on it.
