This is a great thift shop. For me their paper goods section and bath and body are the best. Cards and writing papers that sell online for many dollars more than the pittance in this store. Nice bubbles and soaps. Also rows of clothing, knitting supplies, hair barettes, toys, books and asst electronics make this a "grand slam". read more

The manger there is the reason that I will never go there again. He is so arrogant that I wrote a letter to the corporate office to complain that is something that I have never done before. The prices are always inflated in anticipation of the 50% off days. There are other Unique store that I still go frequently especially the one in New Jersey is a true thrift store with fabulous item and prices and it is huge. read more

I used to like this store but not anymore. There is a sign that says merchandise will not be sold if they don't have the price ticket on them. I saw a PS3 game (God of War: Ascension) and it didn't have a price tag on it so I took it to the front and asked the lady if they can at least look it up on the computer and give me a price there so I can buy it and she said no that she can't do that and that I would have to wait til the next day or 2 until they scan it in the back room. I said ok fine I will come tomorrow. I came the next day and asked for the game and she told me that it was already sold, I got mad and told them I really wanted the game and why didn't they hold it for me when I just came the day before and she said "first come, first serve" so I said fine no big deal it's just a video game. This is where it gets interesting, I went with my wife and she saw 3 clothing items that didn't have the price tag on it so I told her that they wouldn't sell it to her if it didn't have it. There were dozens of price tags on the floor so I told her take one of them and put it on the clothes so they can sell it to you and so she did. When we got up to the front of the register, the little indian woman said "Call Ralphie" and some white boy looking guy with green or blue eyes came to the front and started looking at the clothes and said someone changed the prices on these clothes and me and my wife looked at each other like WTF is going on. He said we'll have to look at the cameras and if it shows her doing this then we'll call the cops. Then he called me to the side and said look we caught your wife changing the price tags on it and he said "Don't f**king lie to me" because I am a retired cop and all I have to do is call my friends across the street and have them over here in a matter of minutes and have her arressted. I said look at the sign behind you, it says merchandise will not be sold if no price tag is on them and I was the one that told her to take the ones that are on the floor and put it on them so they can sell it to her. He said it don't matter, she still did it and that's illegal (Yes he said it like that) so when he said that word there I was like wow I didn't know that and he told my wife to go with him to the security room while I was paying for my shirts. My wife came out of the room and he told me she can't go in there no more but I could, and then had the nerve to tell me have a good one. My wife told me the cameras in there are very blurry and I believe her because if you look at the cameras they have they are not modern cameras, they are more of the old cameras from the 90's. He took her picture with HIS cell phone and took a copy of her medicaid card. She told me this after we left the store and I really wanted to go back in there and ask him why did he have to take a picture of her with HIS cell phone and not another phone that would belong to the store when taking these types of pictures? Anyways just want to let people know that if you go in there be on the lookout for that FAKE WANNABE COP named Ralphie. He is NOT a retired cop like he says, he's just a phony having people think he is. In all, I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone. read more

Unique is definitely unique. It makes it possible for people to afford the necessities they use on a daily basis for which they ordinary could not afford or rather would choose not to pay an arm and a leg for. The place has private parking. It is well organized and is literally huge with a wide variety of items. These items range from electronics and baby gear to toys, pocketbooks, belts and hats, men, women and children's clothing, It is fair priced as most thrift stores are and a discount of 25% off each item is given on Mondays and Thursdays. I'm addicted. I go every week. I bought $99 Easytones.....couldnt find any signs of wear......6.99. Crazy! Ive bought Easy Spirit sandals and New Balance sneakers, similarly priced. All you need is patience. You do have to sort through a lot of random stuff, but its well worth it... Its so much fun. Give it a try!!! If youre a treasure hunter like I am, youll love it! read more

Wow. I arrived at 9:30 for my first Unique visit - I counted 40 people waiting outside! Why? Thursday is 25% off day! Turned out to be MY lucky day as well! PIcked up two ADORABLE Halloween costumes at 2 bucks each (Tinkerbell and Peter Pan!) and then proceeded to spend $15.00 on what turned out to be $150.00 worth of snow boots and school shoes (Sperry, Lands End and a pair of impeccable Palladium leather shoes for my daughter!). I will NEVER pay full price for kids' shoes again. Had hoped to score a winter coat for my four year old son but I will check back next week! One woman (size 6?) was actually hemming and hawing over a knee-length designer down coat with a fabulous puffed collar...the zipper pull was missing and it was SEVEN DOLLARS! A crowd of women literally gathered going, 'Are you crazy? BUY IT!" There was a shortage of carts, which seems silly given the popularity of the place. A woman literally helped unpack my cart so she could take it! Didn't love the selection of women's clothes or shoes but the men's stuff had potential. read more

My family, including teen and adult children, have shopped here regularly for years. As mentioned by most other reviews, the store is spacious, usually clean, nearly all clothes are in good-excellent condition(and sometimes new stuff marked higher than other items but still well below retail elsewhere), and better organized than any other thrift store I have visited. Some things are overpriced by thrift store standards, (curious!)but many fantastic bargains can be found by a patient, discerning customer. Kids' stuff is exceptional. Many brand names at great prices. On 25% 0ff days(Mon./Thurs)the lines are long and shelves sloppy. On holidays it is 50% off and more crowded but one can really score! Books in nearly new condition. Womens' clothes from frumpy to cool retro, from expected to unexpected. Tons of tchotchkes and a knowing shopper may find a treasure or at least something cute or necessary. However, each day presents different merchandise, a few bummers. A few items aren't marked and then you are virtually out of luck. Adequate parking. Pretty good selection of things .i like how they change the WHOLE store according to season. You have to be careful of people who don't ""understand""" that the stuff in your cart isn't for the taking. they will try to make their kids get it then pretend they don't understand. Overall, the prices are okay. I am surprised how the prices jumped from about 5 dollars a t=shirt to 8 , maybe it depends on the t-shirt. I went with my daughter today 9/15/2018 and the toy that she picked lost the price tag on our way to the register. I told the cashier that it had a tag that I knew the price but because my daughter was playing with it, the tag came off. She told me that if it didn't had a tag that she couldn't scan it and that it would take up to 48 hours to put the tag again. I told her to get the manager and the manager (white young guy) repeated the same thing. I told him not to do this to a child that really wanted the toy but he kept repeating the same thing. I told both of them that I was going back to the toy section to see if I could get the tag. I went back and I found it on the floor. I did the line again to pay and the register didn't wanted to scan it. I told her to get the manager this time there was another manager (Short Indian woman) she was rude she took the toy to the back of the store and instead of telling the people that put the price tag on the merchandise to put a new tag, she told them to put it away. I was really upset, my daughter was crying for this toy. You don't do this to a child. All the things at this thrift store are donated by people with a good heart, I'm sure that they want this store to treat people with love and respect. There is no reason to treat people in this case a child so badly. read more

They have a wide variety of clothing(and everything) and good prices but beware! I'm so upset because I went today and found a coat I really loved. The tag price said $9.99, but when I went to go pay the guy looked at it and went to ask someone else something and then said it was misspriced. They didn't let me buy it, they said they had to re price it and that long coats are not $9.99. Well I went to look at the other coats and several(all long) had the same $9.99 price tags , some had $15 etc. so who priced them wrongly? I asked them well can you give me a price then? They said No. I went to show the manager the other ones and she just said we can't give it to you, too bad and took it behind a door. Such bad customer service. I really wanted that coat for my birthday. I've been looking for one like it. Then they wouldn't even hold it for me until they re priced it. I was willing to pay more, but they wouldn't even work with me. And they gave no answers, or a way for me to buy it. Idiots. The point is to get the clothes sold... read more

This store is literally hit or miss but has become more disappointing these days. I used to be able to find clothing in good condition at reasonable prices but no more. Their merchandise is often very used and over priced for the quality offered. They have to keep in mind that the items are still second hand and should be priced accordingly. The establishment is often quite messy and the sales associates are usually rude. In order to have good customer service a business is obligated to be friendly and accommodating to their clients. If they don't follow this philosophy, this chain of thrift stores will inevitably see it's demise. Also, being that they classify themselves as being a goodwill store, they have a moral & ethical responsibility to give back to the community (which they don't). Sadly, I won't be patronizing this establishment again until the owners or management get their act together. read more

My husband and I stumbled upon this store on a long bike ride. We only had one backpack which overflowed with our purchases that we had to strap on a plastic bag with the rest of our bounty on our rack. Perhaps it was timing but we found tons of stuff we liked. I got a couple of pairs of nice jeans, a blazer for work, books, a dress and other things. We weren't able to get furniture (because we were on bikes) but there were many pieces in good condition in addition to a wide selection of baby gear. I always highly recommend this store to friends. We'll be making another trip shortly and I will update my review if things have changed. read more

I'm a frequent shopper and love the items that I have purchased, but the past few times I came here there was too many arguments between the staff. I have to say that I find the person running the store is very unprofessional to his staff, and this leads to the staff not caring about customer service. My shopping experience hasn't been a good one in a while. I'm afraid they may just lose me as a customer. Who needs to feel stressed when they have come to shop and release they're own stresses? This thrift store offers a huge selection of used merchandise. They offer a wide range of name brand clothes, shoes, handbags, jewelry, etc.. My only complaint with this store is that sometimes their prices can be a bit high for certain, especially since these are used items. Its my fault. I went on Memorial Day. 50% off Day. WHAT WAS I THINKING?? Those women were SAVAGES! I actually felt bad for the workers. They were practically mobbed by women while trying to bring racks out onto the floor. So sad. They should have covered racks and security escorts. Aside from the chaos, the items I did manage to get were clean, but a little pricey for a thrift store. The store was clean... just messy. Been coming to this thrift store before it became popular and a mad house. You can find really great deals on great items but now it's nearly impossible to shop here bc the secret is out about this place. Too many people and sometimes here and there they are now over pricing items. I have found amazing brand name high end items but like I said since everyone comes here now they over price items. Some days they have 50% off all items and on those days the line WRAPS around the corner just to get inside. read more

Bathrooms are clean. The selection was alright, but once I got near the bed sheets and curtains there was a horrible must odor. I know that they don't wash the clothes that come in, but they should have done something about that section. Oh and the employees aren't very kind or helpful at all. Otherwise, ok experience. Their store is not only dedicated to clothes but household items, antiques, sporting goods and much more. They had ALOT of Vintage styles that I adored. I'm a fan and I'm definitely planning on shopping there again. However, the only downfall or complaint that I would have is that their show selection isn't the best. read more

I love Unique----It's organized, clean and has the best bargains of any thrift store I have visited. I have been buying thrift clothing for over 30 years and when I found Unique I had a renewed faith in thrift stores. It is not your old connotation of a thrift store. It looks like a department store and has designer clothing, gently used clothing and new clothing. They have large size clothing, children and baby clothing, small appliances, books, hats, socks and cosmetics. This has to be the best thrift store Ive been to and Ive been to many including many of the Housing Works, Goodwills, and Salvation Armies in Manhattan. The place is huge, well organized and priced low to make you want to come back again and again. The books are stacked flat so that you can read the titles without turning your head sideways. Small items are bagged and hung on hooks above the shelves usually for $1.49 to $2.99 Jeans are hung on their sides so that the size of the jeans faces and you can read them easily. Many of the men's shirts still have their tags on them. I cant speak for the women's clothes but the men's clothes are organized by type. Leather jackets are hung together, sweatshirts together, shirts together by size etc. Ive even found some Robert Graham designers shirts with tags on them in the past for about $30 each. I would say this store is on par with Goodwill in terms of the amount you pay for the quality of the items you get but better because the items here are cheaper. In the past Ive even found a Nintendo with games still in their boxes for cheap and Ive seen one guy buy a Commodore 64 in the box. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because once I wanted to buy 2 of the same item. They both had different price tags on them. I asked if I could get them both for the cheaper price and the manager refused. read more
