And I never quite had the gall to review this place for fear of others knowing I sometimes drop in and buy what's on trend, if I like what I see. Now, after the major re-up, post-Sandy disaster, Dijon has moved one store down, and literally downsized to about half the space it used to have. The trade-off with this however, is a better organized, more streamlined store, and the shopping experience is boosted as a result. The window display is actually very inviting now, and looks like they hired a visual merchandising decorator or something. Before, you'd feel like you were shopping at the 99 cent store of clothing stores, but now, it actually feels like a boutique. Sort of. I did come in last night and buy three tops, and altogether it was less than $35. I mean, where does that happen anymore? Maybe Forever21, but then this is how you feel shopping in that store (http://www.buzzfeed.com/jessicamisener/what-its-like-shopping-at-forever-21). Don't get me wrong, I love me my Forever21, but Dijon is a little more forgiving in terms of the sizes they have, being more womanly for those of us whose hips don't lie (thank you for that song, Shakira). They have name brands here, and as other reviewers have mentioned, the tags are usually ripped off or crossed out with what appears to be black ink from a Sharpie. That's cool Dijon, I ain't mad at ya. If you can get me LOFT, Banana Republic, GAP, etc for 1/5th the price, go ahead and tear up all the tags inside the clothes, I'm fine with that. Even if some items are out of season, or fit a little oddly, as they sometimes do, the store makes up for it, by trying its best to stay on trend and keep things fresh. Whenever I feel like getting new duds for a trip or vacation, I'm not against shopping here to get something that might not last forever, but is the flavor of the season and will look cute on me for all intents and purposes. They have a shoe section, which is akin to shopping at Target with how everything is laid out and displayed, but here again, they do carry name brands at attractive prices, so it's kind of pretty sweet, though the actual selection can sometimes be hit or miss. A lot of FiDi women shop here, and really no one is against saving some money, and that's why Dijon has lasted all these years. I've seen it.

De Janeiro/Dijon is a closeout clothing haven!! Banana Republic, Nine West, Gap, etc... Regular clothes in well-known brands are marked down 50-90%. Stuff may be from the previous season, or they may be from YEARS ago - as in the case of a Banana Republic blazer I snagged for $25, original price $240. From the 2010 season, but who the hell cares? If you're like me, you'll jump for glee when you see the label inside the collar markered over or cut out. Yay steep discounts! Head back frequently to check what's new in stock. Be prepared to swim through oceans of badly made clothes that are a waste of fabric.

Although, some of the prices are labeled high, they will slightly negotiate because I saw a lady negotiating a slightly lesser price on a t-shirt while I was there. I would say if you're a fan of the hometown teams, this is definitely a store you should visit. The store owner is also a bit of a character himself.
