I explained that I'm disabled and that getting to the other location would be a hardship for me, but they insisted that's where I had to go. So I made the difficult trip to the other location and they told me there that they had no way to figure out the worth of the stones, so they would only give me a price for the gold. This means I could have sold the jewelry at the first location and didn't need to go through so much trouble and pain. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to sell to them because it's not possible for me to get around and check other shops, but they deceived me so I don't trust them to make another sale.

My first purchase was a ring advertised online as 14K gold. I paid $70 for Next Day Air shipping and had it resized. When it arrived, there was no 14K hallmark inside the ring, and my invoice listed it as 10K gold instead of 14K. I immediately called the store. Liz, the manager, investigated and confirmed it was 10K. After several calls the following day, they agreed to honor the advertised price for the correct 14K ring. I appreciate Liz for being polite, professional, and respectful throughout the process. Because of her customer service, I decided to give the company another chance. I then purchased a Diamond Chandelier Ring for around $5,000 and requested it be resized to a size 5. When it arrived, it appeared they had reduced the size by installing what looked like another ring inside the original band rather than properly resizing it. I was never told this was how it would be done. The center diamond also had visible imperfections, the engraving quality was poor, and the 14K stamp looked more like a dent than a clean hallmark. About a week or two later, two small diamonds fell out. I returned the ring for repair, and after they sent it back, another diamond fell out again. At that point, I had lost confidence in the craftsmanship and was tired of repeatedly shipping the ring back and forth. I also purchased another ring from them and was promised it would be engraved with my name, but it arrived without the engraving. During one of these issues, I was told that Rocco would personally call me. I waited, but I never received the promised call. Liz always treated me with respect and genuinely tried to help, and I appreciate her efforts. Unfortunately, customer service alone couldn't overcome the repeated problems I experienced. I'm attaching photos showing the missing diamonds after they fell out of the ring. For jewelry at this price point, I expected much better quality control, craftsmanship, and communication. I hope my experience helps others make an informed decision before making a significant purchase.

Caputo's is my family jeweler for the last 25 years. It is family owned and Vito and John are the BEST in the business! They are honest, highly knowledgeable, friendly and trustworthy. I have gotten everything from christening crosses, graduation gifts,birthday gifts and I had my engagement ring custom designed along with my wedding bands. This is probably one of the best jewelry stores in the Bronx and Westchester County. I went in there and worked with John to make a customized ring from just a design on paper period not only did he bring the ring to life it looked better than I can imagine. When we arrived at the store, the initial experience was normal and professional with the First Lady that greeted us.(Unfortunately, I can't remember her name; she was professional.) I needed my 1ct platinum engagement ring, 1ct platinum wedding band, and a gold bracelet repaired. We received a cost estimate for repair, and we agreed on the repairs. We got a receipt with the jewelry breakdown, and I noticed that the engagement ring had no GIA serial number listed; my diamond is GIA certified . So I asked for the GIA serial number to be listed on the receipt for security on both my end and the store's end. Michelle proceeded to involve herself when I asked the store associate to please include the diamond GIA inscription number. Michelle asked me why I needed that included and got offended that I even asked and proceeded to tell me that they are a reputable company for over 20 years. I told her I just need it so when I pick up my ring, I'm certain it's the same one I dropped off. (This should be standard in all jewelry stores.) She then grabbed my ring and dropped it and became very aggravated with me. She claimed she couldn't even see the inscription because it was small. Her brother, Chris, told her what loop magnification to use, and she told me to look at it myself, and they would write it. Michelle, I can't believe you have been in business for 20 years and you don't know how to use a basic loop. Shame. I was made to feel like my 1ct was insignificant and small to see the inscription. After that bad experience paired with Michelle's attitude , I requested to cancel the repair. Michelle asked me why I felt like I needed to cancel only because of the inscription. I said it was for my comfort, and I no longer felt comfortable. I received all my jewelry back and left the store. I feel like it's important to post about my experience in this establishment because I still don't understand what I did wrong to be treated differently. Microscopic verification is a must. I should not have to request this!!! Michelle needs to look deep within herself and ask herself why she felt the need to treat a customer the way she treated me today.
