There is a $75 pet fee, which I don't think is unreasonable--maybe slightly on the higher end, but still fair. We booked a room with a king bed, and it came to about $185 for the night (not including the pet fee). The buffet breakfast looked decent, but at $15 per person we decided to skip it this time. The staff was very friendly and even gave out a small goody bag with Milk-Bones for the dogs, which was a nice touch. WiFi worked well throughout our stay. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel. It's conveniently located next to several restaurants, has plenty of parking, and there's no parking fee--which is always appreciated.

During my breakfast visit, the music was so loud that it was almost unbearable. I approached the waitress to inquire about the issue, and she informed me that they frequently receive complaints about the noise level. She had even complained herself to the management, but unfortunately, her efforts were futile. The next day, the situation persisted. I couldn't help but overhear other guests complaining about the excessive noise. Feeling frustrated, I decided to seek help from the front desk. I politely explained the issue to the manager, emphasizing that the music should be used as background noise rather than dominating the dining experience. However, his response was utterly dismissive. He stared blankly at me and, after I finished speaking, simply walked away. In my opinion, his attitude was highly dismissive and unprofessional. Despite spending $1100.00 for my stay, I have made up my mind to never return to this establishment.

The vibe is is a little old world Parisian, so the rooms feel comforting yet also modern. And if you are someone who like a cool room, the air conditioning runs incredibly well so no worries about being overheated even if the weather outside is hot and humid. The other great thing about the hotel is the service. We were checked in by Clarissa, and she truly provided us with above and beyond service. She was hospitable, helpful and made us feel like we were in good hands. We really appreciated that she took a little extra time to see if she could find us a room that was available when we arrived vs having to wait for our original room to open up. That extra bit of care was noticed and set the tone for a fabulous stay :) If you are looking for a place to stay in the Charlotte area, I highly recommend staying at The Ivey's Hotel!!

The two clerks are cold heartless unpleasant anthropids and If Best Weather people like money they should at least put this two people in a basic costumer service training. I advise to use the rip off money to pay extra to the cleaning personnel they sure do a good job. Btw: they put me in the top Floor while the elevator is OUT OF SERVICE.

    Uptown

I'm truly conflicted about this review…read more.. I spent the weekend at the Charlotte Courtyard for pleasure, and there are some things they did great, and some things that definitely feel short. On the side of awesomeness: Their location is incredible!!! Seriously, you'll be hard pressed to get a better location in Downtown Charlotte. Situated right in the center of Uptown, they are close to myriad bars and restaurants, nightlife, and activities. Close enough to everything to be walkable, just far enough away to avoid the weekend bar insanity. Also, the staff was incredible!! Everyone I interacted with was kind, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure my needs and wants were met. Last thing, the price was great!! Okay, the shortfalls: the rooms! While the beds and pillows were comfortable, the decor is about 20 years in need of renovation. Definitely circa 2002. Dark, dark walls made the room feel like a cave. And the ancient Motel 6 window air conditioning unit was so loud, I couldn't run it at night because it woke me up every time it kicked on. Also, they do have a lively rooftop pool. I heated. And it's in between two four-story wings of the hotel, so it gets minimal sun. And even on the hottest days (I was there in early Sept), the pool was an icy 50 deg. So again, I'm torn. Would I stay there again? Maybe. But at least I'd know what I'm in for. And now...so do you. And knowing is half the battle.

So I decided to give Courtyard a shot and it wasn't the best experience. Bottom line, if you're in…read moreneed of some rest and relaxation, I HIGHLY suggest choose a different hotel. First, the positives. It's located in the heart of uptown, which makes walking anywhere quick and simple. There is a public parking garage accessible from the hotel. The room is large enough for 2 people and the water pressure is top tier. Unfortunately, a fire alarm woke us up one morning. Emergency vehicles were arriving so we thought it was pretty serious. The fire alarm message directed us to use the stairs to exit and this became confusing. We followed an emergency exit sign which led us to a corner of confusion. One sign pointed in the direction we were heading and the other pointed in the direction we just came from (see picture). We decided to keep heading down our initial path, and the couple behind us decided to backtrack. Our path led us down a stairwell to a door that stated "not an exit" but also said "emergency exit" on the handle. We went through the door, which placed us on the 10th floor of the parking garage. From there, we had to find yet another way out... Ultimately, we all made it out, with no explanation of the cause. If this was a real emergency, there may have been some serious consequences. I hope they can add some clarity to their emergency exit signage during their remodel. More negatives. We stayed in room 314, and there was no headboard. There were only some weird, foam pieces with pillow cases. You can feel the springs in the bed, as it is VERY firm. If you're a side sleeper like me, this will hurt your back! I didn't know popcorn ceilings were still a thing, but there was some questionable fluid on it. And the bathroom seemed clean, until you looked at all of the hair that was left in many areas. Lastly, you can hear all of the grinding, drilling, and pounding from construction and every conversation in the hallway. If you choose to stay here, good luck

It seemed like they purposefully did the opposite of all my wishes. I was put on the first floor rather than the top floor, near the stairs and not provided with feather-free pillows. Weirder, when I arrived to my room, housekeeping was still working on it. I'm not sure if she finished cleaning it or just left. But the smell of the chemical cleaning products or something to try to cover up another smell was awful. I put the AC on full blast but it was still overpowering when I returned from dinner. The floor of the shower looked icky; the curtains were stained; the wallpaper was coming off the wall. In the hallway, the baseboards were missing. The room was actually quiet but the curtains didn't close fully so there was light coming in all night. The breakfast area was large but the layout wasn't ideal so there was always a group near the toaster. Even though the area was large, the options were less than normal. It was a place to sleep and I was very happy to check out. I did receive 5,000 points for the problems.

Located about 20 min outside of Charlotte and 10 min from the airport, the hotel is very convenient. Not a tall hotel with a view, plenty of parking, and the area has a few fast food restaurants (but nothing special from a dining standpoint). Felt perfectly safe staying here as well. Check-in was easy, there's a decent size sitting area (due to the free breakfast), and rooms were nicely sized. Some updating could always be used, but nothing was broken or excessively worn. Bathroom was a decent size, internet worked well. Breakfast was decent - a few hot items and cold items. Enough to get you going for the day.

I had to be moved to another room which was a suite and supposed to be much nicer. In that room, the thermostat was also barely attached to the wall, but at least it kept the room clean so that was good. The phone in the room was a very old one and didn't even have the button identifiers on it. I had a broken hairdryer included in the bathroom and had to ask for a new one of those as well. They are doing construction outside very early in the morning so that was a little bit disturbing sleep wise, but understandable. It happens sometimes. I would say one out of four of the front desk staff I encountered, were actually polite to me on a regular basis. The beds were comfy, and I enjoyed the pillows although, I asked for housekeeping was told I would get it never did. The following day I was told I got some kind of a refresh service something that was not only never explained to me. It was also incomplete and I didn't get all of the services that came with that. My last day I didn't get any service, but at that point, it was pretty irrelevant. This was my first time staying at a Fairfield Inn and suites property. Normally, I choose the Residence Inn. I will probably return to that moving forward. The breakfast was decent day one, options were not as good day too, day three same food as day one however it was watery eggs, and cold sausage and really not worth eating. Overall, not the best experience, but you don't know until you try.
