This airport was very crowded, so don't expect a seat at your gate or neighbor gate. This airport is similar to most where there are different terminals that have dining and shopping between gates. It is very crowded here, and the restaurant we went to didn't have great service. Definitely not the friendliest of airports, but not as bad as some. I'll take this over LAX or DFW any day! If I return, I'd definitely forgo trying NC Barbecue and get Bojangles since it's not something I'd normally see in Arizona.

You need to have a Passport and using the AA app you can upload your info and it will show up on your boarding pass in the app. There is no extra cost. You need only to have the Boarding pass uploaded to your phone. You DO NOT need to have your Drivers License. Simply look into a camera and the system does a facial scan with is cross referenced with your Passport photo. We also stopped into the AA Admiral Club and got fresh coffee & a bagel which is just what I needed to start the day. Not ALL airports offer this service CLT is now the SIXTH that is the 6th BUSIEST airport in the WORLD. For all you complainers, take that in consideration when you consider flying into/out of CLT. You WILL have to wait in line for your food. You WILL have to wait in line when you check in unless you have TSA Pre or TSA Touchless. These are services you can PURCHASE to make your experience smoother.

We did complain about a certain smoky smell, the issue was addressed immediately. We were promised a credit that never materialized. When we checked out, we were offered bag service again (elevator still down), that also did not come to pass. We figured out that the same guy that was running the valet was also responsible for bag service. Impossible for one person to do both tasks efficiently and concurrently. Never extend your stay after reserving with a 3rd Party I…read moregot a family emergency and had to sleep there for a couple days and seemed like the best option at the moment but the terrible service started since the beginning which I'll explain after the extended reservation rip off: I got a decent deal through Expedia and despite the very unpleasant clerks I decided to ask for one more night and she said it will be faster without the whole check in process if I do it directly and not using Expedia and guess what: - THEY TOOK A SECOND DEPOSIT FROM MY CARD (and still haven't been reimbursed the first) - CHARGED MY DOUBLE THE PRICE PER NIGHT WITHOUT WARNING ME OF THE PRICE INCREASE If you have terrible reservation policies at least you should have people who at least warn you about it. The two clerks are cold heartless unpleasant anthropids and If Best Weather people like money they should at least put this two people in a basic costumer service training. I advise to use the rip off money to pay extra to the cleaning personnel they sure do a good job. Btw: they put me in the top Floor while the elevator is OUT OF SERVICE.

On the side of awesomeness: Their location is incredible!!! Seriously, you'll be hard pressed to get a better location in Downtown Charlotte. Situated right in the center of Uptown, they are close to myriad bars and restaurants, nightlife, and activities. Close enough to everything to be walkable, just far enough away to avoid the weekend bar insanity. Also, the staff was incredible!! Everyone I interacted with was kind, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure my needs and wants were met. Last thing, the price was great!! Okay, the shortfalls: the rooms! While the beds and pillows were comfortable, the decor is about 20 years in need of renovation. Definitely circa 2002. Dark, dark walls made the room feel like a cave. And the ancient Motel 6 window air conditioning unit was so loud, I couldn't run it at night because it woke me up every time it kicked on. Also, they do have a lively rooftop pool. I heated. And it's in between two four-story wings of the hotel, so it gets minimal sun. And even on the hottest days (I was there in early Sept), the pool was an icy 50 deg. So again, I'm torn. Would I stay there again? Maybe. But at least I'd know what I'm in for. And now...so do you. And knowing is half the battle.

First, the positives. It's located in the heart of uptown, which makes walking anywhere quick and simple. There is a public parking garage accessible from the hotel. The room is large enough for 2 people and the water pressure is top tier. Unfortunately, a fire alarm woke us up one morning. Emergency vehicles were arriving so we thought it was pretty serious. The fire alarm message directed us to use the stairs to exit and this became confusing. We followed an emergency exit sign which led us to a corner of confusion. One sign pointed in the direction we were heading and the other pointed in the direction we just came from (see picture). We decided to keep heading down our initial path, and the couple behind us decided to backtrack. Our path led us down a stairwell to a door that stated "not an exit" but also said "emergency exit" on the handle. We went through the door, which placed us on the 10th floor of the parking garage. From there, we had to find yet another way out... Ultimately, we all made it out, with no explanation of the cause. If this was a real emergency, there may have been some serious consequences. I hope they can add some clarity to their emergency exit signage during their remodel. More negatives. We stayed in room 314, and there was no headboard. There were only some weird, foam pieces with pillow cases. You can feel the springs in the bed, as it is VERY firm. If you're a side sleeper like me, this will hurt your back! I didn't know popcorn ceilings were still a thing, but there was some questionable fluid on it. And the bathroom seemed clean, until you looked at all of the hair that was left in many areas. Lastly, you can hear all of the grinding, drilling, and pounding from construction and every conversation in the hallway. If you choose to stay here, good luck

It seemed like they purposefully did the opposite of all my wishes. I was put on the first floor rather than the top floor, near the stairs and not provided with feather-free pillows. Weirder, when I arrived to my room, housekeeping was still working on it. I'm not sure if she finished cleaning it or just left. But the smell of the chemical cleaning products or something to try to cover up another smell was awful. I put the AC on full blast but it was still overpowering when I returned from dinner. The floor of the shower looked icky; the curtains were stained; the wallpaper was coming off the wall. In the hallway, the baseboards were missing. The room was actually quiet but the curtains didn't close fully so there was light coming in all night. The breakfast area was large but the layout wasn't ideal so there was always a group near the toaster. Even though the area was large, the options were less than normal. It was a place to sleep and I was very happy to check out. I did receive 5,000 points for the problems.

The Inn itself had about 62 rooms but could use a bit of upgrades, not in the rooms which were furnished nicely with the standard being two queen beds. Added to that was a desk as well as two comfortable chairs, close to the window. Nothing at all was in the slightest wrong with the furnishings of the room. The problem I had was that the Wi-Fi never, ever was usable other than one time about 3:30 in the morning when I happened to wake up and read on my Kindle at that outrageous hour. I communicated with the front desk a number of times, probably three times for the 3 days when we stayed there. When I checked out I told the General Manager who was running the front desk that they needed some extenders or something regarding their Wi-Fi but she informed me that they had them at either ends of the hallway on the second floor (where all rooms are located) and in the middle. I thought perhaps our room 204 being at the end of the hall that was the problem but obviously it was not. Also advertised on its website was that they had a bar in the lower level but it was not open or usable with the explanation being that they did not have enough people using it to keep it open other than for the special events which were booked at the Inn. The parking area had 4 spaces close to the front door, but the rest were on higher ground, requiring a bit of exercise to reach the Registration desk. The Wi-Fi and the not open bar are the reason for the deduction of one star, almost exclusively due to the Wi-Fi. In addition to the rooms, other good attributes was a large indoor swimming pool and a sumptuous breakfast, served buffet style from 7:30 AM to 10 AM. The breakfast dining area had outdoor seating which we used on one cooly comfortable morning. Added to the metal tables and chairs with a covering umbrella was the joy of a dozen ducks. TIP: Ask at the desk for bags of seeds to feed the ducks, adding to the joy of the exterior, raised patio above a smaller water feature.
