Horrible and deceptive. You will sign up for the "Web rate," which is really an introductory rate, however that is listed nowhere. In three months they will send you a notice stating the market rate has increased and they're raising your rent. However what they're really doing is raising it to exactly what it was when you signed the lease. So saying the market rate went up is a lie. They'll then lie to you and talk in circles when you call them about it. Claiming they explain in store that it is an introductory rate and "maybe it's not clear online." It's not clear because it's not marketed as an introductory rate. Save yourself the time and headache. read more

The customer service here is great. I was recently late on my rental payment due to surgery. JAMES (not even knowing about my surgery) was very understanding and was more than willing to work with me on getting caught up. I really appreciate the fact that he didn't "bully" me into paying immediately or make me feel bad about being late. Instead he said that (not verbatim) things happen in life and that it wouldn't help things if he were mean about it. Sharon is also kind, patient and understanding as well. I rented a storage for one year but moved out after 6 months, to clarify it was CubeSmart when I originally rented the storage unit. I stored my furniture including beds and sofas and while moving out found a lot of rodent feces under and in my belongings. I had checked on my things a few times but did not notice the feces until I moved the bigger pieces out and then when looking closer saw it in drawers, in the sofa etc....I was already annoyed because the elevator was broken and had been for a week so this just added to my frustration. I find this unacceptable in a storage unit especially when I chose the unit for the proximity to the elevator. Back to the mice. I asked the site manager why I was not informed of the rodent problem and she explained that they couldn't notify people because they could not possibly know where the mice were in the facility. I was also told these things are to be expected and is normal and if people knew of the rodent infestation they would still choose to use the storage unit and only a few people were upset about the rodents. If that is the case why not notify your "valued customers" and give them a heads up if you think they would not mind or that it is normal. Personally if I had known there was a mouse problem I would not have used that storage unit in the first place or if I had been informed when the issue began I would have tried to remedy the problem within my own unit or moved out earlier. I have used storage units in the past and have never had this problem. I was not happy with my experience at this storage unit and especially did not like the way they made me feel like I was the one that was wrong because I was unhappy my things had rodent feces on them.I simply thought customers should be notified if there is any type of issue at the facility,not given excuses. It was my mistake for not asking when I initially rented if they had issues, the unit was new and looked clean. I have learned my lesson and if I use a storage unit(not extra space) in the future I will better protect my furniture and better inspect the facility. If you do not mind rodents possibly crawling and crapping in your unit and an elevator being down then you should be fine storing your belongings here. read more

I Extra Space Storage for a couple of months when I moved, I wanted to make sure I was able to get a refund or pro rated rate as I removed all my stuff on the 4th of the month. When I called they told me I I needed to give several days in advance before the 1st of the month as I was on auto billing ( which they would not accept any other option). When I went to cancel on the 4th they declined to refund anything thus I paid over $110 for 4 days worth of storage. I advised them this is not good business. They told me this is mentioned in the presentation in the beginning. I said I was in between moves, like your listening to the presentation you just want your spot to start storing. They refused to do anything so I said I wlll be reporting this on Yelp. Thus here I am. I will never use them again! read more

I have been extremely pleased with my storage experience at this Extra Space location! The units are always neat and clean (as they DO NOT allow customers to store food of any kind) I'm happy that is a policy and I feel reassured that I'll have no worries of rodents keeping company in any of my items being stored. I've recommended this facility to many friends and family members based on my experience. The prices are reasonable and Sharon and James specifically are very friendly and accommodating. They work with you to make sure your payments are made and that you'll avoid having an account that reaches auction status. I see others have had mice droppings on their things stored in the unit here, even a year ago. I have 2 storage units here and was recently over there and found mice droppings in both of my units and I was shocked!! I am also irritated that nobody told us they had a mice problem here before we rented here! I would never have rented here if I had known. They should take care of the problem before renting to anybody else . My units are not side by side, and they both have mice droppings! I have talked to the district manager over that area and location and he said he wasn't even aware of the mice problem. I also have 4 to 5 sofas in one unit, some passed down from my grandmother and are very sentimental and very special. I had all my mother's household belongings stored here for "safe" keeping, and all the things mean a lot to me as my mom lived with me and she just passed away. I am very upset that both my units have mice droppings and where there are droppings there will also be mice urine. I feel like everything is ruined! I do have insurance and have filed a claim. But when I see reviews of other people saying a year ago their units here had mice droppings, I feel like this problem has been going on for over a year and a very long time. I wish I had been told! I would not have placed my very sentimental and valuable items in this building if I knew they had a mice issue. But from other reviews, they knew they had a mice problem over a year ago and they still do have a mice problem. I don't know how they will eradicate it when the mice can run around from unit to unit and the units can't be treated because they are locked. It is so important to treat with chemicals the outside of the building every single month, and I am not convinced they are doing that. The pest company they use from what I can read on their website only uses bait and traps. That will never rid the facility of mice! We have other things stored in a different company not related to Extra Storage on WT Harris for about 10 years, and I have never seen any rodent droppings at that facility and I spoke to the person in the office at the different company location, and they have a pest company spray chemicals outside every month, to prevent rodents from getting into the building. Extra Space seems to use a more "green" company that says on the website they use bait and traps because it is better for the environment! But it doesn't prevent or kill the mice! They should tell people so they can make an informed decision. They keep going up on rent, even though they are aware they have a mice problem in the building. read more
