They arrived earlier than we expected and were done quickly too They had done a move prior to ours, and the weather was uncooperative. Still, these two young men were communicative, diligent and efficient--even when our sofa wouldn't fit in the freight elevator of the first building and they had to hump it down 7 flights of stairs! Thanks again guys!

They send two guys that struggle to move a queen Casper mattress - and comment that these are heavy and hard to move - because they had a busy weekend - excuses given for each item moved because they take a break between them to chat about video games, what they are doing on the weekends and that they have 3 hours after this move so they don't have any thing to do?? Is this why you're taking your sweet time chit chatting and standing around watching cars drive by? If you ask me what they names are - I have no idea - no introduction. I've used this service twice before and the guys they sent before were solid - friendly and professional. This time - the guys could have been anyone odd the street with no manners, awkward and needed guidance on how to wrap things up so they don't damage the walls - because as they moved the items in - scrapes all along the stairs to the 2nd floor (on a new build that had NO damage until we paid for the damage - that apparently came extra without a fee). I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND Sir Walter for any move whatsoever. Did I mention when I called their boss - they completely stopped talking to us - when we said thank you they ignored us and said nothing. But they stop chatting among themselves and are actually working a little faster #DoYourJob

Sam was able to work with not only my time frame but also my budget and I really appreciate that. From start to finish the entire moving experience went on without a hitch. The crew was on time, respectful, nice and really put my roommate and I at ease. Everything was padded, packaged, loaded and unloaded with care. I 100% recommend them. I even recommended them to my mom day of to move a washer & dryer and my booked them next day just like that. Thank you again so much for a professional and smooth moving process. I'll be sending more people your way!

I wanted to love my experience with Carolina Moving. When I sent an inquiry to move my heavy…read moremattress to my new home, they responded quickly, quoted me and guaranteed if could be done same-day or the next day between 2-3p. Cool. They followed up with me that it would, indeed, be the following day. I made my way to my old place well before 2p to wait for their arrival. When they didn't show up at the end of the hour, I called to check on their status - I received an apology and was told the moving team likely had a job that ran late. The coordinator said he'd call to get an ETA and call me "right back." 20 mins later, I had to call him back. He stated "He was just about to call" me with an update. He said the team would be there in 15 minutes. Almost 45 minutes later, when I'd gone to my car to prepare to leave - disappointed with the lack of communication and consideration, the moving team (2 men) showed up. I'll admit, I was a little icy at first, but I pushed through. The movers were kind and they did everything I was informed they would - payment is due before any item goes on the truck. They worked hard and they got the job done. I will give them all the props for that. I am giving the business 2 stars based on principle - there was no communication and I had to follow up on a status update. Where was the customer service? That and I waited nearly a full 2 hours beyond my quoted time for service. I'm grateful for the two guys who helped me, I am, but I'm not sure I'd recommend this service again because you have to be considerate of a customer's time and communication is key. As you can see, other people have had better experiences so be sure to way all the pros and cons for your individual needs.

The service I received was unprofessional and resulted in significant damage to my property due to the negligence and lack of experience demonstrated by the three-person crew. Despite a short five-minute drive between locations, the moving truck took 30 minutes to arrive. Upon inspecting my belongings, I discovered that my items had not been properly padded or secured during transport. Specifically, the dining room table base has substantial holes on two sides. Additionally, a wood sofa table fell apart during the move. It appeared that an unsuccessful and undisclosed attempt was made to repair the table before I saw it, which I find purposefully deceitful. The crew failed to disclose any of this damage until I pointed it out myself. Furthermore, I was disappointed that the crew attempted to take the 65-inch TV box, for which I specifically paid $125.00. Please review your records and confirm, your company Easy Movers Inc. did provide moving services for my family.

Unpaid, actual detailed client review…read more Move date: 03.25.2024 Part 1 I can not emphasize enough the extraordinary experience my family and I had with the Hockaday Brothers Moving Company (HBMC) during our recent move. From the moment we engaged their services, it was evident that we were in the hands of consummate professionals.  Despite the challenges that moving day inevitably brings, they kept us at ease throughout the entire process. Foremost, let me commend the dedication and sheer stamina exhibited by the crew. Working tirelessly and with unwavering energy, the five (5) man crew (including the owners operator) with two (2) large moving trucks, efficiently tackled every aspect of our move, regardless of the hour or the complexity of the task at hand. Their meticulous attention to detail and careful handling of our items was truly commendable. Their relentless work ethic not only impressed us but also alleviated any apprehensions we might have had about the daunting moving process.  What truly sets Hockaday Brothers apart is their unwavering commitment to honesty and integrity. Unlike many others in the industry, they provided a transparent and fair pricing structure, ensuring that we were not taken advantage of during a time when vulnerability often prevails. In an era where people are emboldened behind screens with this unbridled with rage and only post negativity to take companies to the proverbial woodshed, there was ZERO downside lurking within HBMC. These are good guys, trust me because they were with us for about  twelve (12) hours straight.  Listen, despite their three-hour drive from Charlotte to the RDU area, they arrived promptly and ready to tackle the tremendous job at hand in this unexpected time gobbling yet client focused move. Their professionalism, dedication, and hard work have earned them a customer for life. I will not hesitate to use them for all of my future moving needs and will enthusiastically refer them to anyone in need of a top-notch moving company. It was evident that their priority was not profit but rather ensuring our peace of mind throughout the entire journey. Moreover, the trustworthiness and purpose exhibited by the team within the confines of our home was unparalleled. Each member conducted themselves with the utmost respect for our belongings and properties, handling them with care and precision as if they were their own. This level of professionalism instilled a sense of confidence in us, allowing us to relax and focus on the excitement of the new chapter awaiting us. HBMCs full-service approach to both interstate and intrastate moves is truly laudable. From the initial consultation to final delivery, HB 'leaves no stone unturned' in ensuring a seamless transition for their clients. Forbye, the communication throughout the entire process was beyond outstanding. The regular updates provided leading up to the move, during the process itself, and even afterwards to ensure our satisfaction, truly exemplify their dedication to customer service excellence. I must admit, my decision to hire HB was influenced by the glowing feedback I researched online, particularly on the app, Thumbtack. However, it is one thing to read about exceptional service and quite another to experience it firsthand. Their service speaks volumes about their commitment to going above and beyond for their clients.  Not to mention, they finished at 1am and had to lend services to another client bright and early the next day... and yet the owner, Jackson, still found time to text me to ensure we got some much needed rest and that everything was great on our side.  Jackson, the aforementioned owner, was right there, moving boxes and furniture, working up a sweat in the cold of night,  alongside his equally hard-working crew.  Sir, you are one of a kind,  a gentleman,  a great leader,  an amazing communicator, and an astute business owner & we're glad to know you and your team. We wish you,  and the crew,  great success in your endeavors. Don't change a thing! To everybody reading this,  it's rather needless to say at this juncture, but here goes. . . I have become a staunch advocate for HBMC, a family-owned moving company, and will not hesitate to recommend their services to friends and family alike. In fact, I am already eagerly anticipating the opportunity to enlist their help for any and all of our future moving needs. In conclusion, I implore anyone in need of a moving company to look no further than Hockaday Brothers Moving. Their unparalleled dedication, honesty, and professionalism make them an invaluable asset during what can often be a stressful time. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for turning what could have been a logistical challenge into a smooth and memorable experience.  I emphasize,  moving a whole family can be difficult and stressful.  We appreciate Hockaday taking the load off of us for your clients. A seamless and stress-free experience!

Unprofessional behavior from movers…read more This was a terrible and traumatic experience! I hired this company's service on October 22, the last week. I moved from Ballantyne, NC, to South Park, NC. They didn't complete the move until the next day. They had to return to the residence because they lost the hardware from one bed. Also, they left items without wrapping. The next day, when they came back, once they had installed it, one of the guys asked for pay, and my card was declined because of my change in the zip code. There were three workers here, and there was no supervisor. Ok. So, when my card was declined, I called my husband, and he tried to give them a credit card number over the phone. They could not take that, and they became hostile. The guy insisted that he wanted the card physically. So, they said my husband needed to come here and give them the card. He was at a job site and could not leave. So, the guy started yelling at me and threatened to take my stuff. He walked room by room, looking at what he could take. They were three guys against two women. I said to the guy to leave my house. He refused to leave because he wanted to take my stuff, so I ran to the door to stop him from taking my belongings. My cousin called my husband, crying and looking at the situation. The guy was trying to intimidate me, so I called the police, and he decided to leave, but I stopped him because he had taken my stuff and was waiting for the police. The guy was out of control. My husband talked to the owner, and he told him to leave. We paid the bill for the move on Saturday morning, which was over $5000. I feel now traumatized by the situation. I feel like I was assaulted in my own house. You know how much stress it is to move from one place to another and care about your belongings. That's because we hired a service that says it is " professional." That was a big mistake; they are not what they say. For this horrible experience, I never recommend this company.
