I would give no stars if that was an option. This might be the poorest character company that I have worked with over the last three years in my entire home remodel experience. I purchased Emteck pocket door hardware for my custom barn doors from My Knobs and received the incorrect finish. When I called the company, the Representative looked up the product on their website and saw that the finish was pictured wrong on the website and empathizes that this was their fault and I could return the hardware at no fault of my own (no restocking fee) because it was their fault that they had it pictured incorrectly on the website. I reluctantly reordered the finish that I originally thought I was receiving which was also pictured wrong on the website and this was the reason for my hesitation. I should have trusted my gut and gone with another company who has more character and more correct info on their website and one who would also uphold their word to their customer. When I checked my credit card statement I noticed that I had not received the full refund of $300.80 I had only received $225.60. When I called My Knobs to explain my frustration of not receiving the full refund, the representative stated that they had indeed issued me a full refund of $300.80 and that the problem must be with my credit card company bank. She said that the bank did not enter the numbers correctly and that I should call them. I had never heard of such a thing in my life as I have been in the banking industry myself. But since the representative told me I should call my credit card company to correct the problem, I did my due diligence . Frustrated, I called the credit card company and they said that, in fact, that My Knobs had only sent over a credit of $225.60. Almost ready to give up, which I think was My Knobs strategy, I called back to My Knobs and spoke with a representative who said she would check into it. A day or so went by and I received a call from a representative that said that the verbiage on the website is correct for the finish that I ordered therefore I will not be receiving the full refund. My problem wasn't with the fact that the verbiage, the picture and everything was very incorrect on their website; my problem was with the fact that they had gone from telling me on the initial call that I could return, at no fault of my own, since it was their fault that it was picture incorrectly on the website; to telling me that they had refunded me the correct amount and that the problem was with my bank; to now explaining that it was not their fault that I didn't read the description on the website which was correct even though the picture was not correct. The fact is, they did not uphold their original word and instead they had their representative calling me back telling me that they would now not uphold their original word of refunding me.... and let me remind you this is all over $75.20 that they have spent so much time backpedaling and not following through on their word. I can give you at least 30 other vendors that I worked with who are very reputable and who would say I am very reputable to work with. My Knobs will never make that list and I'm sure that due to their poor customer service, poor business character and poor judgement to promise something one day and then tell the customer they are wrong the next day, My Knobswill not last long in this competitive business environment.
It is now January 9, 2019 and I received a voicemail from a Marilyn at myknobs.com on December 18, 2018 reassuring me that myknobs.com would issue a full refund (for the remaining $75.20). I have checked my credit card every day and have given this company ample time (7 to 10 business days +) to issue the refund and still no refund has been issued for the remaining $75.20. Choose who you work with carefully... I did not and I am now considering legal advice over the principle of this terrible company's non-existing character. read more
