Sparse basic selection of frames and lenses. I don't think he performed a comprehensive eye exam from what I have received in the past as it lasted about 10 minutes total. Moving onto the "contact lens" portion he had me use my own current lenses wasting a pair for the day since I showed up with glasses. All the times in the past with the fitting I have received a week supply of a trial pair recommended brand. Then made a follow up appointment. He went through the motions and bumped up the prescription. He did not have in stock the brand I had on hand so he told me just to order online to receive the rebate. He did not clearly explain the breakdown of the cost since it resulted in $10 copay for exam (fine on the face of plan details) and an additional $72 for just the written Rx... I felt rushed out of the office for the last appointment of the day so I will not return.

His secretary, Sasha, is super friendly, and Dr. Shriber is by far one of the kindest, most patient doctors you will ever meet. I'm not saying that I'm fussy, but when it comes to him asking me, "Which is better, 1 or 2? How about now, 1 or 2?". My response is always, "Can you do it again, Doc?" I don't know why. It's as if my eyes are always playing tricks on me. But his patience goes beyond the examinations. I swear it knows no bounds. I work on airplanes and once you hit 30,000 feet, these planes will suck all the moisture out of your body. And that extends to your eyes making your contact lenses uncomfortable to wear. Why not wear glasses then? I'm too vain. Anyway, there are contact lenses out there that advertise they are perfect for dry eyes. Over the years, I find them to be outright lies. So a couple of years ago, Dr. Shriber had me try a different pair every couple of weeks until I felt the contacts held enough moisture for my long haul flights. I remember saying to him, "Really? Aren't you going to get sick of seeing me?" No, he just wanted me to be happy with them. I went back 4 times before I finally placed my order. My last visit was a couple of weeks ago. 15 years later, I still LOVE going to this man. He is knowledgeable, generous, funny, and he also takes most insurance (if not all). Tons of street parking and a cheap public lot in the back ($ .50 an hour). If you need glasses, his office is connected to Gordon Optical which is run by his brother. So the next time you need an eye exam, look no further!! I give Dr. Yale Shriber a 10-Star review!

From February through June, I tried one contact lens after another with this other practice, and they still couldn't get my prescription right. It was a nightmare! I was running out of time, contact lenses and patience, since I rely 100% on contact lenses for vision. Out of desperation, I booked a visit to Sudbury Eye Care. In contrast to the large corporate practice, Dr. Labiento: 1. Took as much time as I needed for each visit; 2. Had a huge inventory of trial contact lenses in stock, which she could tinker with as needed by applying magnifying lenses; 3. encouraged experimentation across a broad range of contact lens brands, including many boutique brands. Within a short time she had optimized my prescription, each eye with a different brand. When I showed up at Dr. Labiento's door my eyesight was so bad I couldn't legally drive. I now have 20/20 and 20/30 vision. I would give her 10 stars if I could!

My family and I have been seeing the same optometrist in a nearby town for over 20 years. However, some recent experiences left me wanting to try someone else. I am so glad I made the decision to visit Dr. Le. In my first visit, she examined my eyes and found a condition that can lead to a retina tear. Dr. Le helped me get an appointment with a highly regarded ophthalmic practice. An ophthalmologist addressed the issue the same day. The ophthalmologist told me that I probably had the condition for around two years based on the scar tissue. He gave Dr. Le (who he doesn't know) a lot of credit for identifying a barely visible problem. He said that he could have missed it himself. Beyond the eye issue, Dr. Le was very thorough in examining my eyes, filling my prescriptions, and fitting me for the best glasses and contact lens. She is friendly, explains things effectively, and provides compassionate eye care. I would highly recommend Dr. Le to my family, friends, and anyone who is looking for an optometrist.
