This is the perfect location to get your annual eye doctor appointment in. Pros: They are on time. They use no air puff devices. They have a WIDE selection of designer branded eye frames. They are located right on Main Street (you have to pay for parking -- both garage or street metered). There is so much to so around this location. They take my insurance and always allow me to use the extra 20% discount that my insurance covers but not all eye doctors take. They have eye contact classes for you to learn how to use before you purchase. Cons: It is HOT upstairs. Seriously, could have passed out on Monday--they need a unit! They have additional devices that you can add-on to your annual visit. Such as opts wide field retinal imaging, OCT retina scans, visual field testing, Marco TRS refracting and specialty contacts (if needed).

The entire staff was very friendly. Dr. Sharon McGill was one of the best doctors I have ever seen. She was friendly, caring and extremely knowledgeable. Dr. McGill was the total opposite, extremely caring and interested in her patients. I was so pleased that I decided to change optometrists and continue with her practice.

Over a decade after my first review, they still treat you like family the moment you walk through the door. I'm actually still wearing frames and high-quality lenses I got from them years ago, and when I stopped in, they adjusted them for me on the spot for free with a smile. Hands down the best customer service and product quality in the area. From the thorough exams and frame fitting to the lifetime care and adjustments, Annapolis Opticians sets the absolute standard. I genuinely miss having them as my local shop, but they've earned a customer for life. Still an easy 5 stars!

Dr Simoncini was truly wonderful and I would highly recommend this practice to anyone. I was having…read moreissues with my eyesight in pregnancy and another optometrist had not helped me out, so I scheduled an appointment with Dr Simoncini who is conveniently located in the same building as Fetal and Maternal Medicine. I made a mistake and came to my appointment 2 hours early and he happily made time to see me and didn't make me feel like I had intruded or rushed him. Even the staff were pretty nice - giving me honest advice about the frames and telling me that I might want to look somewhere else given my needs. I also left piled high with coupons and samples. I'm so happy I found this place. Extra bonus - check out the framed letter from the astronaut in the lobby - who it seems he also helped.

The website was easy to use to request an appointment, and I was contacted quickly by the office to schedule an appointment. Kelsey was such a sweetheart greeting me when I checked in and helping to do the initial tests when I arrived. Dr. Simoncini was so kind and informative, explaining everything every step of the appointment. He was very encouraging during the exam, and I learned a lot about my eyes that I had never had explained before (what is an Astigmatism, why are "floaters" called that and why do they exist?). Then Patty was wonderful in helping me pick out new glasses. I would definitely recommend this practice to anyone for their eyecare needs!

These people (I worked with Ed, and his father, who own the business-they are at the Giddings Ave location) are devoted to what they do, and to a happy customer. I have been back several times now for different prescriptions and they nailed it! Had fun too. This place is like businesses used to be. Forget anything else; go here. Do bring your own frames if you want something quite unusual; because McNelly is a smaller business you will find an adequate selection but nothing too offbeat. BUT they worked with my very weird German-made frames and got the lenses made. No one else in Annapolis would touch them.
