    If you are looking to upgrade your eyewear, I cannot recommend Annapolis Opticians enough. The selection of top quality, in style frames is second to none in this area. My initial visit was accompanying my husband and step-daughter. Both were interested in new frames. They were hopeful to find what they wanted here, but not expecting it (if you know what I mean). Due to the pandemic restrictions, they are appointment only. Scheduling an appointment online was a breeze and they had lots of availability to choose from. I was very happy that they allowed all three of us attend the appointment together (I was serving as fashion consultant!) and they had an excellent system for sanitation (including multiple air purifiers running throughout the store). I absolutely felt safe but not restricted. We could try on whatever we wanted and they sanitized all the frames we touched once we were done. It was a breeze! My husband and my step-daughter found perfect frames for themselves. Me, on the other hand, (whom I should mention again was not in the market for new frames because I am very happy with the ones I currently have - I was only there to make sure my husband did not make any bad glasses decisions...) found not only one but three different frames that I was over the moon about. Damnit! Now, they are a high end shop, so these were certainly not budget frames. This also meant that three new pairs of glasses was not in my budget. I narrowed it down to one eventually (much, MUCH deliberation) and I could not be any happier with my decision. Graham and Adam both took lots of time to talk through all of the options and measurements, etc. with all three of us, both when we ordered the frames and when we came in for the fitting. I was most impressed by their unrushed, thoughtful approach. Graham's obvious perfectionism in everything that he does was also much appreciated! My husband is on his first pair of bifocals and they took a little extra time to talk through this with him to make sure he was happy. I tell you what folks. You get what you pay for in a lot of different industries these days. My husband and I just paid a lot of money to "reframe" three members of our family and we couldn't be more satisfied with our purchase. This is a premier retailer in the area with exquisite customer service. I am not surprised that customers travel from near and far to shop here. I, myself, don't plan to shop anywhere else for glasses/sunglasses. Thank you again Graham and Adam!

    I can't believe this place doesn't have a review yet. I walked in and the two ladies were ultra helpful without being pushy and tried to find a frame among their vast collection that looked good on my face. There are so many different frames and brands- this is the best selection that I have seen in Annapolis. Only thing is, they didn't seem like they had bustling optometrist appts lined up but I already have my prescription, I just need some fab frames. Prices are a little higher but their frames are also way cuter and more fashionable than some of the other places with limited selections. I say get your prescription and then come here to check out your options. i.e.: I found an awesome Kate Spade frame for $222. Single lens go for $90 and then the anti glare and all that jazz is $140ish? totalling $450ish. I might have to save up for that or shop around a little more but at least I found a frame that accentuates my features. They didn't know about Yelp so I hope they go in and unlock their business.

    These guys are the best! I was looking to elevate my sunglasses game from Ray Ban to something a bit more stylish and sophisticated and Nic came to the rescue, suggesting some options before finally landing on some frames from Kala Eyewear. His recommendation of tortoise matte frames was spot on and I left the lenses up to him and was pleasantly surprised to receive gradient lenses which I hadn't had before, but now love because they look great and are super functional as well. They looked so good that my wife started wearing them more than me, and I couldn't object because I enjoyed looking at the frames on her as much as I did wearing them myself. They are honestly the best darn looking glasses I've ever owned. And the quality is incredible. Eventually I decided my wife should have her own pair and we decided on another Kala model in a different model which Nic fixed up for us as well. Annapolis Opticians is a great group of people, a great family, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to do business with. A++

They were totally professional and thorough in considering my needs. My new prescription was a bit unusual because it is a temporary fix between cataract surgeries. So they spoke to my doctor directly to confirm it was being filled correctly. They promised to turn them around in two days, and they were done on time. I will certainly continue to use them for my eyeglasses needs.

    Bought some montblanc sunglasses awhile ago from Nordstrom rack (there was no warranty). The…read moreglasses ended up losing the screws that held the frame and earpieces together. I searched high and low for anyone who could fix them but nobody carry's montblanc anything. Called about 5 shops, went into 2 optometrists in the area. Nobody could help. Online there were no repair kits that had the size required to fix my sunglasses. I called McNelly and spoke with Linda Kintu. She was super helpful and even went out of her way to help me find montblanc's repair website. Unfortunately that ended up not working out, but Linda said I could come in and they could see what they could do to help. When I arrived at the storefront, Linda was very welcoming and nice! Absolute people person. Linda and Ed Marshall took a look at my glasses and realized that it would require a specialized custom part to fix them, and that they didn't have the part. However, they decided to go above and beyond to help me and were able to somehow construct the part needed out of what they had in the shop. Never expected my glasses to get fixed so I gotta recommend McNelly and both Linda and Ed for their help.

    This review is a contemporaneous synopsis of my encounters with South River Eye Care…read more My first peripheral encounter with South River Eye Care was when the owner walked into my store (I work in the marine trades) on a boating issue. As I recall from several years ago she was a good customer and I helped her. She gave me her card. My eyeglass prescription has been very stable for decades and I'm careful so glasses last me a LONG time. Recently my arms have gotten shorter *grin* and my ophthalmologist recommended progressive lenses. I figured Transitions would be a good idea as well. Today (a Saturday in April '19) I walked into South River Eye Care in Edgewater MD with my new prescription. My wife was busy and I was out on other errands so I was without adult supervision. *grin* I told the optician who stepped up to help me what I thought I knew and what I thought I wanted. She very patiently helped me with a number of frame options and equally patiently took pictures of me in each for my wife to look at. She wrote all the options down and the front desk staff opened a file for me. So we would not have to start over when I came back. I'm impressed. Without vision insurance the prices are a bit attention getting but I truly feel you get what you pay for here. I expect to be back late in the week to finalize my order. A few days later I stopped by with my choices firm. Very helpful, good fitting, good measurements (Pd), and outstanding treatment. Just nice people. Seven to ten days to my new glasses and a 60 day window to order a backup pair with a steep discount. Out on a business trip when I got the call that my glasses were ready. Today I stopped by to pick them up. Great service again. Recognized and greeted at the desk, well fit, excellent advice for adjusting to my first pair of progressive lenses. I'm wearing them now. *grin* My wife is happy about how I look and I am happy about how I see. We'll be back for her new glasses in a few weeks. I have not had better service and a better product for glasses than from South River Eye Care. Tell 'em Dave on Auspicious sent you.

I came in without a mask to pick-up my glasses and Lynn said, " you need to wear a mask here". I refused because I knew the mask mandate had been removed, and proven not to protect against Covid, and also had been struck down in court as being unconstitutional and illegal. She was adamant about me putting on a mask, I again refused. Lynn then stated that " we care about ALL of our customers here". obviously not, because I wasn't included in that statement, I thought I was also a customer. I Guess not because Lynn was very insulting, arrogant and narcissistic about the situation, then tried to berate me and blew it way out of proportion. I thought about never returning to the eye clinic, but I liked the rest of the ladies, especially Tiffany and was overall happy with the rest of the staff there. The eye doctor is amazing or the 3 star rating would be 2. I returned for an eye exam on 10/4/23 and didn't let the fact that Lynn gave me many glaring looks bother me too much. After all I'm better than that, but what really almost set me off was the fact that while I was being fitted for a new pair of glasses, Lynn walked behind me and made a hand gesture like Fk you to me. She thought I didn't see her, but they have the mirrors on the fitting desks and all over the walls. I really wanted to confront her about it, but just let it slide. Quite frankly, "she's not worth it" I said to myself. I even asked the lady at the desk "who owns this business"? Anyway, Lynn shouldn't be working at this place and I won't return with such a childish fool in the position of Practice Administrator. Watch out for this Karen, she's nasty.

    I get my eyes checked and received more information about my eye issues than anywhere else…read morepreviously. I highly recommend trying them out.
