The doctors and staff do a great job here. My only complaint is that the frames are no longer separated between men's and women's. They are now grouped only by brand. This results in having to look through a frustratingly large number of options. I received a quick and efficient eye exam! I did not have to wait long upon arrival for my scheduled appointment to see the doctor. The doctor was nice and answered all of my concerns/questions. The techs in the lens department were equally efficient. There was not a big selection of frames / not the best selection of eyewear. However, I was still able to find something that I liked. The tech was very helpful in assisting me to sort out insurance vs out-of-pocket expense for my lens. I was told the frames would be ready in about a week and a half, but they arrived exactly one week after my exam. The facility was clean and well -organized. Review: Review: My recent experience at this location was disappointing and frustrating. I visited the store with the simple task of swapping one brand of contact lenses for another. However, I was met with unnecessary resistance from the office manager, Amber. Despite explaining that the contacts were not directly from their inventory but were mailed in, Amber insisted that they do not accept inventory from other stores. Furthermore, she claimed that I couldn't switch out contacts until I saw the same doctor, a procedure I had never encountered before. I let her know I would be following up with this policy. Determined to find a solution, I called another store where a representative assured me that exchanging the contacts and accessing my new prescription were not an issue. However, upon calling back to the original store within minutes, I was informed that Amber had left for the day, delaying the resolution further. After conveying that another store was willing to facilitate the exchange without any inventory or prescription issues, I overheard Amber agreeing to accommodate my request, albeit reluctantly. The situation escalated when, despite maintaining a calm but in fact demeanor, I was accused of yelling and faced with unwarranted hostility from the staff member. This treatment was unprofessional and unacceptable. The encounter highlighted a clear need for improved training and customer service practices at this location. Overall, my experience was marred by unnecessary complications and poor communication, leaving much to be desired in terms of customer satisfaction. I showed up today to pick up my new glasses and never made it past their COVID-19 check point. They handed me my glasses and never offered to sit me down and make sure they fit correctly. I tried them on and was told "look good" bye. I wasn't even given a customary lens cleaning cloth! The doctor was very personable and thorough but the front office staff left a lot to be desired. They had trouble with my insurance because someone didn't know codes. I am pregnant and stood there for 30 minutes waiting for them to figure it out. Once my contacts were ready, nobody failed to reach out stating that an automatic text message should have gone out. My contacts sat in their office for 2 weeks and no one reached out. They recused themselves from any responsibility only stating that a text message should have been received. I constantly receive emails and phone calls from the office so this excuse is hard to accept. I will not be returning to this office. read more

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with this office. I don't mean that to be disrespectful, but I was in a bind and needed an appointment ASAP. I called three other places and they were booked out a week. I call the Myeyedr in concord and they got me in that same afternoon. I thought, surely they have open appointments because they must not be that good. I was wrong, very wrong. Everything went smoothly, from them finding my difficult to find insurance provider to walking out the front door with contacts glasses and sunglasses (which I got complimentary with my contact purchase). I also really appreciated how they didn't "oversell" their add on promotions. They respectfully explained what they had to offer and didn't push it if you said no. I found their prices and bundle deals to be impressive. At the recommendation of my eyewear tech we found a stylish pair of glasses that would usually be over $300 that I ended up paying $99 with promotional pricing. I was not as happy with my glasses, but that may have been a communication problem (my primary reason for purchasing was for computer use, but I was under the impression that they would by their progressive nature allow me to see distance as well). I've used this office multiple times over the years for my children. They are notorious for making appointments and then rescheduling them. It has happened to me multiple times. This time was the last time. I scheduled appointments for my children MONTHS in advance due to their irregular school schedule. I was told today by a very rude and condescending associate that they would not be able to see my daughter on this day because no one would be there for her appointment but they can still see my son on this day. I asked her if everyone else scheduled on this day reserved their slot months in advance because if not, it is not fair that our appointment is being bumped. I told her that I was going to find another doctor for my children. "Alright, whatever. Have a good day." What atrocious unprofessional beasts do you have handling your customers? My Eye Doctor, formally Southern Eyes in Concord and Kannapolis are awesome. The docs are friendly and do not rush through your exam. They always ask how I am doing and about the family. They are extremely nice and wecoming. The front office at both offices are awesome. In a day when you walk up to a clinic window or check out counter only to be treated like the employee does not have time for you, it is refreshing to be sincerely welcomed! The opticians are helpful and know their products. They give advise but don't hover. When I ask if a pair of glasses look good on me, they tell why if they don't. I need help and they offer it! We have had 3 bad experiences at My Eye Dr. in Concord NC on Church St. The first was when we came for an appt. for my husband (pre Covid) and we literally waited over an hour. When I finally inquired about the long wait we were told that there was only one exam room open. No one said anything to us until I asked. Then it was still over another hour before we left there. The second incident occurred on May 23rd when I came in for an appt. (during Covid) and was asked to wear a mask. I was not happy about that but I took the mask and said I had to use the restroom. I will admit that I was not polite about it. I made the decision to put the mask on and when I returned Mark (either Musto or Allred - he refused to give me his last name) who said he was the general manager kicked me out and refused to have Dr. Smith (who I had the appt. with) see me. The 3rd time was today when my husband, who had his first appt. with Dr. Smith and has a cataract that is getting much worse, had a follow up appt. today. He was called literally 20 minutes before he had to leave for the appt. only to learn that the appt. needed to be rescheduled due to an emergency. I would never recommend this facility to anyone. Poor communication, service and etiquette. read more

It's sad but my long time eye Dr. of twenty years shut down his practice and moved to MyEyeDr. My wife and I have been going there since the move but the service is not good. If you call you can't get any real help and it doesn't matter if you just had an exam last month, if you call about anything, they just want to book you for another exam. On my last visit 11 weeks ago, I was given one trial contact with no follow up appointment. I wore it for a month and called to let them know that monovision (one contact) was not a good solution for me. I was told to make another appointment. I tried to explain that I didn't even get so much as a prescription out of my last visit but they didn't care. It is sad but we have to go elsewhere. read more

This was the worst experience i ever had. I fell this doctor office was dishonest. i normally go to horizon eyecup for many year but due to my new job in concord i could never have enough time to travel to my normal location. So i gave this office a shot. bad decision. when setting up my appointment i ask what i wild have to pay for my exams she states only $25 which i normally pay or 0 dollar. once i arrive for my appointment on my lunch break i was taken to the back to start my exam. the tech was training someone so it was taking longer than i expected but i was being patience about 25 min later i was told that this office charges a additional fee of $40 for their technology and their system. At the point i was really upset now my visit has change from $25 to now almost 70 dollar. I f i was told this over the phone making my appointment i would not have booked. but i was pressed for time and i have craved this appointment out of my day so i continue. It too a additional lost 15 to 20 min to get the machine to work and to recognize my name. once i completed that i was was like great it over now i can go back to work. NO i had to meet with the doctor where i waited a additional 25 minutes in a cold office in the back. over all i was very disappointed in this office. i was hoping that it would go great. To put the icing on the cake i called back to get a copy of my prescription and the receptionist was sooooo rude. she act as if me calling for my prescription she had to do extra work. please beware this office. read more
