What I appreciate the most is that they take the time to talk to you. I want to give a shout out to Kim. Kim is Dr Raflo's assistant. She is amazing. Kim knows her job. She is great with every patient; is kind, professional, and someone you want to be there if you need anything or you have a question. I highly recommend Cabarrus Eye Center for anything you need related to your eyes. Ophthalmology and Optometry are their specialities. Dr Raflo performs specialized surgery. Dr Handler was excellent and both my wife and I were very pleased. The optical dispensary is another story. Their attitudes and and and indifference are truly amazing. Been there twice and today was the straw that broke the camels back. The manager, Mr Bodder, ignored me and and his staff apparently take their clues from him. When I picked up my glasses a couple of weeks ago they just handed them to me and I had to go to Walmart to get them adjusted. Stay away from the optical shop read more

In the last fifteen months, I have had an experience with Drs. Harper, Lark, Baer, and Robinson and their entire staff that should win them all awards. I had a crazy accident that caused my right eye to actually burst open and fill with blood. We thought I had lost that eye forever. We bypassed the ER and went straight to CEC where the entire staff jumped into action. Dr. Harper, my regular ophthalmologist called Dr. Lark in immediately. They consulted with Dr. Baer, who was out of town, on the phone and they included my wife and me in their discussion. My wife, a nurse, was so impressed by the level of collaboration we saw there. That, in itself, was a confidence builder. Just less than 2 hours from the time of the accident, Dr. Lark had me in surgery putting my eye back together. Along the way, I needed a vitrectomy and a lens implant-- 4 surgeries in all. We are so fortunate to have so many highly trained surgeons- each contributing his/her own area of expertise-right here in Concord. And their assistants and front office are the best. My doctors went the extra mile for me. They gave me their home numbers. They called to check on me. They knew we were worried so they saw me almost daily for a long time. Drs. Robinson and Baer arranged to do surgery at night after long days in the office so both could be there to work together. The teamwork among the staff at all levels was amazing and their kindness has been comforting. I could see that they were all doing their best for me. After the third surgery, the doctors said that they were afraid there was little hope that my vision would recover. The next day, however, I saw light, shadows, and even color for the first time! Two months ago, Dr. Robinson implanted a new lens in my eye which improved my vision greatly, and this week I was fitted for new glasses that will bring my vision back to 20/20 in both eyes!! I recently had a stroke and had to go get an eye exam to make sure I was adequate to drive. I was not satisfied with the test results and he instructed me to get a second opinion. Meanwhile Dr. Hasson had contacted the DMV and had my license revoked without any second opinion and without notifying me. I was pulled over for a traffic violation and had no idea that my license had been revoked. This has cost me over 700 dollars in legal fees and I still do not have my license. This has changed my life tremendously. I am 75 years old and still work to provide for my family. Not having a license has put a tremendous strain on my life. I do not recommend Cabarrus Eye Center. read more

This office is RUDE! From the front desk all the way to the back. Dr. Brown has absolutely NO business working with children, or really even people in general. Her tone, behavior, attitude, words and mannerisms are absurd and unprofessional. My son was 5 and has been terrified to go back to the eye doctor since. She was so incredibly cold and hateful to him. I have discussed this with other parents and have found they had similar experiences. My son is almost 7 now and desperately in need of new glasses. We found a different center and a different eye doctor. The experience there today was nothing like what we experienced here. He left with a big smile and asked that we keep going to the new eye doctor. When a 5 year old asks you what you're going to do, because they've never been to an eye doctor before, and a Doctor says "Sit still, do not move and shut your mouth!" Then proceeds to scold him for tablet use ruining his vision (FYI- he doesn't even have one!) and then tell him to shut up when he tried to tell her about finding Nemo (which was the movie they had playing in the exam room), you have a big problem! He felt uncomfortable and shifted his hiney in the chair a bit to which Dr. Brown said "Did I or did I not tell you to not move? You do not listen!" He was FIVE! FIVE!!! read more

Rude. Ridiculous. Will never go back. My daughter and I were singled out and told to wear 2 masks. They did not request this of any other patient. My daughter has severe sensory and mental health issues. we went through great lengths to find a mask that was more then three times more coverage then any mask the staff wore and they did not find it suitable. She is 15 months overdue for new glasses and they would not see her without 2 masks. We were rudely told to wait in the car. They care more about masks then they do special needs children. read more

One of our boys ran out of contacts. It's the end of school- he has tests and soccer club tryouts. I don't want to pull him out of a pertinent class to get to the eye doctor when his grades count for college. They will not refill the contacts to last until our next appointment which is in two weeks. It puts our son in a difficult position. Of course I made the first mistake which was rescheduling the yearly exam, but I thought it wouldn't be a big deal- just get him to summer time. We will not be back to this place. read more

I would not recommend Dr. Brown, she is very clinical & cold. I felt as if she was unconcerned about my recovery or that she couldn't wait to move to the next patient,(evasive about answering my questions). She would be much better not interacting with patients. She she should retire or go into research where she can only work on eyes (w/out the people attached), this would limit her interaction with people since it was obvious that she doesn't care for them. While , I'm sure she has a brilliant mind. As a patient you're looking for a balance. I would avoid her. However her technician was wonderful! read more

Needing surgery to remove cataracts. I had not met my deductible and my share was to be over $700. I had Access One agree to cover this and I would pay them back. Cabarrus Eye Center would not accept Access One and had no financing plan available. Would think a business this old would take care of patients. Was very disappointed. read more

I have been coming to Cabarrus Eye Center for many, many years. The wait is usually long, especially in the afternoon. The way to fix that is to book your appointment for first thing in the morning. I feel Dr. Harper takes time to answer my questions and explains things in terms I can understand without a medical degree. Thank you for such excellent service! read more

Worst experience ever! It is unfortunate that the doctors have to be surrounded by ignorant slobs. The wait was exceptionally long, bring a book and expect to finish it. When taken back the technition was exceptionally rude and smelled like cigarettes. The staff is extremely unprofessional, as I overheard gossip about their coworkers and patients alike. We LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr Sandra Brown at Cabarrus Eye Center! She is an expert in her field with impeccable high standards!! Our son was diagnose over seven years ago with congenital cataracts at birth and Dr Brown has been there for us every step of the way. When he was born we did do our research and visited other pediatric ophthalmologists (Charlotte Eye Ear Nose & Throat Assoc. and even went to the Storm Eye Institute in South Carolina) After that we realized how fortunate we were to have such expertise right here in Concord. Her reputation as and expert precedes her. Since then she has done a number of successful surgeries on our son and every time to the highest standard. We have trusted Dr Brown with our son's future and would recommend any parent to trust their children with her. In fact we have meet other parent/children with vision issues and they have made to move to Dr Brown as well. read more

Dr. Brown is by far the rudest doctor I have ever met. She called my children brats because they were asking her questions. When my oldest child asked what she was about to do during the eye exam, she told him to stop talking and do what she told him to do. I was appalled at her behavior. I am so irate with this office. I will never allow My teenage child see Dr.Brown again no matter how good this Dr. is. My husband was not able to be there for the initial appointment, and it was critical, so I asked if he could come in for a consult. I was told yes. Our child needed surgery, however it would cost 4K! And they will NOT work with you on a payment plan!!!! After telling them I could in no way afford it and would have to post pone, suddenly I HAVE to pay for the consult. (!) When I said I already asked in advance about it, they said "Oh no, they just let us leave." Really!? Like $50 will make a huge dent in their wallet (it's a dinner, and breakfast for my family!) I don't understand this. They are heartless. read more

Dr Brown is one of the most unprofessional doctors I have come across. She yelled at my two year old after knowing he just went through a traumatic experience. The first visit we waited about 20 minutes we got to the room after 10-15 minutes she came in and said I can't examine him you will need to bring him back when he will sit still and not be moody she was in the room about 5 minutes She knew he had been through a lot in the past 3 weeks and she didn't care. the second appointment she started telling me how to discipline him and how I should be as a mother because he wouldn't sit still. she is very rude and unprofessional and has no bed side manor. if I could I would rate her less than a 1. I have never had a doctor talk to me the way she did or treat me the way she did. She can't be a pediatric doctor to treat a 2 year old that way. read more

I cannot express how unhappy I was with my most recent visit with Dr Hasson. He is rude, unprofessional and uncaring and I will never see him again. Dr Thomas was the ONLY reason I went to this office, because the way the place is run is a joke. There are always like 15 girls up front and only about 2 (if you're lucky), actually doing anything. They treat you like a number and want their money up front before you even see a doctor. But as I said, I went only because Dr Thomas was always caring, compassionate and a truly excellent physician. Dr Hasson is at the opposite end of the spectrum. After waiting over an hour past my appointment time (of course), I was finally taken back into the exam room by the nurse, who was very nice. The sink is literally right outside said exam room, and the door was left wide open. Dr Hasson proceeded to the sink where the nurse was still standing and starts chewing her out for something she did wrong with his last patient. He is literally dressing her down right in front of me, and continues on his verbal rant by saying how he is ready to go home "let's just get through this day and go home", etc. How completely unprofessional are you to talk to your staff that way in front of patients???? When he finally got in the room, he never asked how I was, NOTHING but rudeness and a complete lack of care. Guy had an attitude the whole time and was a complete jerk. Scolded me for not getting my eyes dilated because "it's like going to the dentist and not opening your mouth." I faithfully go to the eye doctor every year and give them $150 only so I can get my contact lenses, so I really don't appreciate him acting like I don't take care of my eyes. Needless to say I will never be back to see this poor excuse for a doctor, and have complained to the office. If you are looking for a doctor who actually cares about his patients, PLEASE do yourself a favor and don't visit him. read more
