I scheduled an appointment for a vision exam, showed up for my appointment and was told that I would have to pay a $45 co-pay for my exam. I immediately questioned that and was told that my exam would be done by an off-site doctor and the "Staff" would walk through it with me. I said NOPE, reschedule to when a doctor would be in the room with me. I showed up for my appt and the doctor was great. The front sales on the other hand was nothiing short of criminal. I said all I needed was lenses as they don't sell the frames I wear anymore. I was asked to sign a waiver that said they would only pay for HALF of the value of my frame if they damaged it??? So the sales person then tells me my lenses AFTER my insurance was applied would be just short of $500. I asked him what brand of lenses he was quoting and he responded that they were their in house brand. I said, "We are done here". I called the provider that did my lenses last year and they quoted me for both Veralux Digital and Zeiss lenses at approx $275 after my insurance allowance. These guys seem to believe they have a license to steal. If you are looking for anything other than an eye exam, I wouldn't recommend going there...there are much more professional places offering significantly better prices and product offerings than this chain. read more

Do NOT under any circumstances trust the staff at MyEyeDR to be looking out for your best interests. They will push for you to pay exorbitant fees often times not even telling you. It's as though company policy is to lie, cheat, and rob the customers. You MUST double, then triple check your bill because these "helpful" employees will add in extra fees for things that were never discussed. I have an eye exam coming up and have reached out to my insurance company to break down the billing so that I can question each and every charge to avoid MyEyeDr's policy of inflating the cost. I plan to also bring in my spouse to go over the billing as well. Please don't allow your elderly family members to go to MyEyeDr without another trustworthy individual because they will take advantage of them. Absolutely disgusting. If I have another issue after my next appointment with dishonest employees I will absolutely report my complaints to whomever will investigate their deceitful practices. My spouse and I do very much like Dr. Connolly which is why we continue to use My EyeDR, but have zero faith in the integrity of the company. read more

Was listed as a provider through my insurance. Went in, has a vision exam- was told my insurance didn't participate- when they did per the website. A few months later after my initial exam I was told I could come in and pick glasses- they wouldn't let me select glasses until their corporate office corrected the issue on their end. Went in, picked my glasses- received a text that they were ready for pickup. Left work early to get the glasses I should have had months ago- they can't find them. This place is a joke and could care less that they are failing to provide care to their patients. Go anywhere- I mean anywhere other than this place if you want to get glasses in the same year you had an exam. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Connolly on 4.20.19. I booked an appt first thing in the morning at 8, and was the first patient to be seen. The tech who was helping me really listened to me and was personable and friendly. I was just going for a contact lens exam, as I'm on my last box of daily's and need more. I expressed to the tech that as much as I love my Daily Total One contacts, they are extremely costly and I wanted something comparable in quality but at a more reasonable price point. She noted my chart accordingly. When I went in the room to see Dr. Connolly, she was actually reading my chart. She introduced herself and said "I was just reading your chart to see your history. I don't like to have my patients explaining themselves over and over again." Already, I liked her! So she did the exam and was so friendly, she really was thorough and explained things to me, and she even was asking me questions about my daughter after I mentioned some issues she's having with her eyes. She mentioned that it seems to be hereditary as my eyes are the same, and although that was in my chart, she was the first eye doctor to actually mention that to me. She even wrote it down on a business card so I can tell my daughter's eye specialist next time she goes. In addition, she admitted that the last eye doctors who saw me did not offer me a good variety of options to choose from, regarding contacts. They went from the very cheapest, which did not work for my eyes, to the top of the line. Which, while excellent, were expensive. $700 for a year's worth, WITH insurance. She was very transparent and let me try a monthly pair and a biweekly pair and asked which felt better in my eyes. I ended up choosing the biweekly pair and instead of $700, I paid $150 for a year's worth! Not only did she save me a TON of money, but she was so friendly and thorough, and even helped get to the bottom of an issue my daughter is having. I'll definitely be going back to Dr. Connelly next year! read more

On April 27th I went into MyEyeDr, in hopes of getting a new frame for my glasses (because I sat on mine), and after I told the receptionist my reason for being there I overhead him making fun of me to one of his colleagues. He was an older man, about in his 40s, but gossiped like a high schooler. He first made fun of me, then spoke about another associate, as if it was a gossip party. It was very inappropriate behavior. I will never be coming to myeyedr again... and as of now I can barely see as I type this because I didn't get the frame I needed (due to the horrible attitude from the receptionist). read more

I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone. I wasn't seen until 2hrs after my appointment time. The information I received regarding insurance coverage was in accurate. I was told my insurance (Tricare Prime) was accepted for a contact lens exam, once the exam was complete I was told i would need to pay for a contact exam and i wouldn't get a perscription until I paid for the exam and tried on the trial lens they ordered which they never ordered. I would stay far away, i wish I would have read the reviews before going to this business. read more

Absolutely terrible. Doctor was a total smart ass that couldn't do no wrong. Prices are crazy high and they screwed up billing the correct insuranc. Then when I go to have them fix it they ignore me for months and then give me a crazy attitude about how they are right and I'm wrong and why did they need to call to explain that. Well first I called and made my appointment. While on phone gave insurance info and date if birth and got the date and time. Got to appointment and they had no clue of who I was had given me wrong day and time and had me scheduled as my father. And the lady at desk was rude and said it was me when I went over the day and time with person on phone 2 or 3 times and even told my mother so she could write it down dont recommend them at all. read more

When this location was Vision Associates it was good, since being taken over by My Eye Doctor the quality has drastically declined and the record keeping is atrocious. They actually told me that I have to come in for an eye exam three months after my last one since their "new" system does not include records form their "old" system. Went in for yet another exam ($51 dollars despite being told it would be free) and they still failed to ship my contacts as is their policy. read more

Very unprofessional. I had an 11:30 appointment and arrived at 11:15. At noon, the receptionist told the noon appointment that the doctor hadn't arrived. They kept me waiting for 45 minutes, and no one said a thing. That's so inconsiderate. I'm never going back, and I've been going here for years. As side note, their other competitors in the mall have a much better selection of frames. I have an appointment with one of them in two days. read more

Ever since Eyefit Vision merged with My Eye Dr. this place has gone to absolute crap. I showed up 5 mins early for my appointment at 12:15pm with Dr. Connolly. The ladies welcomed me (as I've been going to Dr. Connolly for 3+ years now) and told me to have a seat, Dr. Connolly would be right with me. 12:30 rolls around, I went to the desk & asked how long she was running behind. The lady told me it would probably be another 10 mins (why was I not notified that she was running behind when I initially showed up? No call nothing, as if I had nothing to do except wait at the doctors on a Saturday). I waited until 12:45 someone finally tells me to go to the back to take out my contacts. At no point did an employee find it professional to tell me the doctor was running 30 MINUTES behind. If the doctor is consistently running behind you would think they would book her appointments longer in the books so clients aren't waiting. This was going to by my THIRD follow up for my prescription glasses. The prescription she wrote was still too strong. DO NOT PURCHASE GLASSES FROM THIS PLACE ITS A RIP OFF! I purchased Gucci frames, and when they initially came in, the color was completely faded on the right side. You would think they would check for quality control before calling me to let me know my glasses came in. I had to wait another 2 weeks for the frames to come back. I purchased the glasses first week of April, I didn't get my glasses until May! Horrendous customer service, the ladies at the front clearly did not get any training when the merger happened. My recent experience with My Eye Doctor was awful, and we are still feeling the sting from it. It seems that ever since Vision Associates changed to My Eye Dr., it has been a disorganized mess. My daughter went by herself and unfortunately we feel that she was a little bit taken advantage of. I wish I had been with her, and I regret that I wasn't, even though she is over eighteen. She was persuaded to purchase contacts that were over two hundred dollars more expensive than the one she came in for specifically. She was told it was the same price as the others (after the very easy rebate).In my opinion, rebates make me feel scammed, as if someone is hoping you'll give up somewhere in the process.Two years ago I did a rebate for them and I NEVER saw my money. Again here, the rebate process was complicated and frustrating and made me feel like I had been ripped off, especially when we received an e-mail stating that the picture quality on my daughter's phone was not good enough so our "claim" could not be handled. It's ashame because the doctor himself whom we had had in past years (Dr. Hayes?) was wonderful, professional, and kind and straightforward, but he was not there this time, I suppose. Consequently, I will be taking my future business somewhere else. I just don't feel good about this experience, and I am out an extra 200 till further notice. read more

This place is a dysfunctional nightmare!! I went to Vision Associates for many years without any problems. In 2016, It took me months for the staff to try and get my contact order placed correctly. I kept a log that's how bad it was. They kept coming in wrong, left eye was right eyes strength, wrong type, they lost it, you name it. Finally, I asked for the prescription and they actually wrote it out wrong, and I even had the empty boxes to show them. Well you think I'd learn from that bad experience, but no I went back, because I have been satisfied with Dr. Hayes in the past. I called before my appointment and asked for a price for the contact fitting. I was told my record showed I paid $60 last year and it would be right around $60 again for this year. Well after my exam today, they billed by insurance company the full amount of $160.00 for the exam and charged me an additional $155.00 ($27.00 of this fee was for a PHOTO routine) which after questioning I was told it was an optional choice and I was not made aware beforehand. Also they told me my cost for fitting contacts was high this time, because he was putting me in a multifocal lense. I said I've had a multifocal lense in for 7 plus years. They disagreed, said I didn't last year. There's your sign. Unbelievable. There are many good choices in the Harford County Area and I only wished I'd gone somewhere else. My gut kept telling me to go someplace new. Next time I'll listen. My prescription was written for only one year, so I needed exam to get another prescription. Another rip-off. I'm addressing this problem and billing directly to Bc/Bs reps during open enrollment in October, 2017. I walked out wearing the same contacts. They are ordering me different contacts to try. I'm thinking I should just keep what I have while I'm ahead of the game. I hope I don't have to pay another fee when I ask for a prescription for glasses. Should I decide to also get glasses I surely won't get them at Myeyedr. I am not a happy customer. read more

Unfortunately, since Vision Associates had been sold to My Eye Doctor the quality of care has dramatically declined. We ordered a pair of eyeglasses for my son. Prior to receiving the glasses, I made several calls to check on the order for accuracy where I was treated rudely for calling them. I was assured when the glasses finally come in, a member of their staff would check over the glasses before calling me to come in and pick it up. My Eye Doctor asked for two weeks to receive it, fortunately it came in after only one week. The eyeglasses have given him continuous headaches and did not include the transition lenses we paid for upfront. Now, my son has to go back to their office to be reexamined and the glasses have to be shipped out to an Ohio lab for correction. More waiting. My husband also had a bad experience where they never sent out his yearly supply of contacts after we had paid for it. It finally arrived four months later after checking on it. We were told his order was "lost" during their move. I would seriously reconsider giving My Eye Doctor your hard earned money for eyeglasses, lenses, etc. unless you have plenty of time to wait for them to correct their mistakes. I wonder if poor Dr. Hayes knows about his office's problems? He is really a wonderful eye doctor who seems to truly care about his patients. read more

I agree with the other reviewers that Dr Hays is an excellent eye Dr. I have been going to him for many years, but I regret that this past visit will be my last. I cannot deal with such incompetence from the front end staff. The women at the front desk should all be cleared out and replaced with people that care about their jobs. I made a simple request to have my prescription mailed to me and was apparently lied to that it was. Over a week later and it has still not arrived. Made a second request and was told that they were out of stamps and wouldn't get any stamps in until the end of the month! Huh??? Drove back to the office and picked up my prescription. Decided to get my eyeglasses somewhere else and found that My Eye Dr had the authorization locked down so that I couldn't buy my eyeglasses from anyone other than My Eye Dr. Went home and called to get the lock down released and a few days later I tried to order my new glasses again.My Eye Dr had lifted the authorization for frames but not lenses!!! I am beyond frustrated. Talk about gross ineptitude. I will not be dealing with My Eye Dr in the future. read more
