They were very knowledgeable -- quickly narrowed down where the problem likely was instead of guessing, and explained what they were checking and why as they went. Communication was great the whole way through: quick to respond, kept me posted on what they'd tried and what was next, no long silences wondering what was happening. Their troubleshooting was logical and methodical -- they worked through possibilities systematically (power, PoE ports, connectors, wiring, NVR settings, etc.) rather than just throwing parts at it, which saved time and avoided unnecessary guesswork. Guess what...I don't care. Why is an off site customer more important than a customer that brought in their PC? When I got it home my e-mail was gone, as were other programs. I called and had to leave a message (always, no one answers) and another, and another. I finally sent a poision e-mail to their contact info threatening to do a blog or picket outside their business and actually got a call back. I was told they were sorry for not getting back to me, could I bring it back? I took the PC back to them for restoration but all they could recover was my pictures, thank God, and my e-mail. Some other programs..gone. Brought PC back home, had another issue, called, left message x2. Never got a call back. So I took it to another shop right in town and they fixed me up. Holy Cow! You may want to think twice about using this company! I hired them to do a simple job. I…read moreneeded two Cat5 drops installed at my home and to mount two wireless access points. It turned out to be a fiasco! (It started on a Wednesday) He ran the drops but did not understand the instructions for using the Aruba wireless/ HPe access point mounting kits (part number: AP-220-MNT-W2W). In the process, he cut up and damaged one of the mounts as well as made over 8 screw holes in my ceiling. When he was "complete" he quickly took my check and left. Within the first hour of his departure, the AP's received power via POE, but no data. I immediately called and texted him about the issue. He assured me that he was currently going to his next job, but would return the following day (Thursday). The next morning, I texted him at around 8:30 am to confirm he would return that day to correct the cabling issues. I received a reply, that he was indeed planning on returning that day to fix things. At 2:22 pm, I once again texted him to see what the ETA was on returning. His reply was that he was finishing up a job and would text me when he was on the way. At 6:33 pm, I received no calls or texts, so I once again texted him to see if he was indeed still coming. The reply was "I'm heading to pull footage for the cops", whatever that means..... After that text, I never received a call or text again. Fast forward to Sunday, where I had to hire another cabler to come in and fix this guys shotty work. In short, he made several unnecessary holes in my ceiling, cut up and damaged an AP mount kit, and literally mis-wired the RJ-45 end connectors. He literally flipped the pinouts from left to right. In short, clearly, this guy is a jack-leg who doesn't know what he is doing with regards to Cat5 drops, RJ-45, Ethernet, and keystone connectors. He tried to take the "money and run", so I had to put a stop payment on the check.

I searched for awhile for a comp repair store. I even called Best Buy Geek Squad who wanted to charge me $150 or pay $200 to get a 1 year repair warranty for up to 3 devices. I spoke to this guy behind the counter at Reboot Remedy. He told me how much it would cost which was significantly less than what Best Buy was offering. He also suggested updating my Windows and Microsoft to the latest versions, which would only cost $25 more. Due to the virus being pretty bad, he completely cleaned up my laptop...even removing some factory apps/folders that I never used. The files, pics, etc that I wanted saved, he put it in a folder for me. I was impressed that it only took 1 day to fix, not to mention, he called me first to give his suggestions and to let me know the price before doing anything. He also added links on my Google Chrome that I asked for and he also added an app on my cell phone! Everything done under $100. I will definitely return for future issues and recommend this place to family/friends for any comp or cell phone issues!

Additionally, they explained everything they did in understandable terms (I am not a "computer guy") and not condescending. Further, I had two cell phone problems which I wanted them to fix. They said this could easier be done with a $5 part and reinstalling the O.S. A different shop would taken advantage of an easy fix. Reboot Remedy reminds me of the repair places I used back in smaller towns; great customer service and reasonable charges. I had a laptop with a screen that stopped working. A different shop quoted $150 without even looking at it. Reboot Remedy told me it could be different issues and charged a small fee. They took the laptop apart, checked all of the connections (memory, motherboard, etc.). The laptop was repaired was repaired in a day. $43 to fix.

Friday 13th was the fateful day when my laptop would not restart normally. It had crashed before…read moredozens of times in the past year but never like this. No matter which type of safe mode I selected, Windows wouldn't start up properly. The timing of the computer crash couldn't have been better, I was just about to save files onto a flash drive before a job interview when it went kah-put. What a day! With cautious optimism, I went for a second opinion. Jeff explained to me that the software they had for computer diagnostics performed wonders. Given the demand, I was told it would be a day or two before the computer doctor could diagnose and treat my laptop. I entrusted my laptop to them. And my boyfriend reassured me that my laptop was in safe hands. I waited anxiously. Oh how I dreaded the thought of all the files I had not saved and all the files I would have to recreate. A few days later, I received the prognostic for my computer. I thanked my lucky stars as soon as I heard that I would be able to regain my data. Two days after the diagnostic testing, my computer was released from the computer hospital as good as new. I am so happy to have my laptop back. I was this [........] close to hugging my laptop goodbye. I also learned that all those times I had rested my laptop on pillows, blankets, and other soft surfaces, I was allowing fibers to enter my computer and blocking air from entering my computer. I was lucky my fan hadn't demised too. My computer is a survivor. We have lots of good times ahead of us. And I owe it all to The Computer Fixers! With great customer service, talented technicians, and well done repairs, I can see why they have remained in business the past 19 years.

When she took it back to him - he still didn't fix it and the back of the laptop kept coming open with the battery falling out. When she brought it to John's attention he said tape it. Really???? My friend is elderly on a fixed budget. That's just wrong !!!
