Wee Willy Burger - delicious

Very friendly service and good home cooked food. Small town family dinner, busy with locals. Bean and ham soup was amazing, just like moms! Tons of ham in the soup! We will return next time I'm in town. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

My husband and I tried My Place Diner based on the Yelp reviews, but I'm sorry to say that Yelp let me down. As soon as we walked in, everyone looked up at us. That's how small the place is. Every table was taken, and a server came to take our phone number so we could be called upon when a table opened up. As we were seated, I noticed that the place smelled a bit. I soon learned why. We were seated one foot away from the unisex restroom, with the door opening facing our table. I was immediately grossed out, and I don't feel like I need to explain further. The breakfasts include coffee, but I wasn't impressed with the lukewarm weak coffee. The coffee mugs are nice though. My breakfast was good, but the bountiful serving was crammed into a small plate that didn't leave room to move food around without spilling some on the table. The dining experience was further spoiled by the rainy day since the dirt parking lot turned muddy.

What a dive! What a gem! This is the kind of breakfast and lunch dive you've been searching for. First, know that if you are a group of two at a table for four you may end up meeting some new people. This is a small place with limited seating. And the ambiance is dive. Wood panel walls with etchings of cabins and wagons and waterfalls surround you. The servers are kind and straight forward. She helped us figure out the best way to order my 9 year olds odd requests and not make it expensive. The food is great! It came out HOT and fresh. Real cracked eggs made perfectly to order. Crispy, buttery hashbrowns and beautiful yummy pancakes. Come early if you want sausage gravy. My wife ordered biscuits and gravy and got the last of it for the day as they make the gravy in house and it's one batch a day. When it's out it's out. We all smashed our food fast and everyone went home full. We already are talking about going back for lunch because those burgers look sooo good.

Grilled ham and cheese on Texas Toast. SO DAMN DELICIOUS!!

Is there even sausage in the sausage gravy? The biscuits were wonderful though. I'd try something else if I went back.

Upon arriving in the small town of Concord (population 1,200) after the first 11 miles, we were thrilled to see the breakfast cafe on Main Street open for business. My wife and I have been loyal customers of this little cafe when bike riding through Concord over the past 10 years. During that period, it was known by two other names: the Silver Spoon Cafe and the Concord Cafe. Unfortunately, like so many small restaurants, this eatery closed its doors during the year of the pandemic. Riding up today, we noticed the familiar purple awning on Main Street still proclaims "The Concord Cafe". However, after changing hands and getting an interior facelift, it re-opened 30 days ago (May of 2021) as Mel's Place! After walking in the door, we quickly met the new owner Mel...short for Melinda. We enjoyed chatting with her about the renovation she did in exposing the hundred year-old brick in the minimalist and spotless dining room. We then got down to business ordering a pair of Veggie Omelettes with sliced tomatoes and raisin toast while nursing our fresh brewed cups of hot coffee. Our breakfasts at Mel's were spectacular...just like they had been over the years when we had patronized this small business under previous owners. For this Yelper, a delicious breakfast halfway through a 22-mile bike ride is a great motivator. Based on the excellent quality food and friendly small-town service, I expect Mel's Place to quickly build a solid reputation among the many recreational bikers that frequent the Falling Waters Trail. Five stars all day long.

And I gotta say the Chicken Sausage may be one of the best things I've eaten in a long time, I was stuffed but couldn't stop eating a little at a time because it was SO GOOD. Nice ambience and friendly service plus they were willing to help us out with a late to-go order for the Chicken Salad since we were renting a Frank Lloyd Wright house for the weekend and didn't know if we could do much cooking. We also got a couple cookies to-go and they were excellent! Strange name, but if you're remotely near Williamston check out That New Place.
