We are in from out of town for a wedding and this nail salon was not only willing to take 5 of us for mani & pedicures but they brought in extra staff to accommodate us. I ALWAYS have a positive experience at Nails by Yen, salon. The staff is very friendly and they do an impeccable job on my fingers and toes. I am most impressed with the attention to detail that is paid to the cleanliness of the salon.The disposable plastic sleeves that are used to cover each pedicure tub for each patron serves to add an extra level of confidence and relaxation while I enjoy my pedicures. They arrived and could not speak one word of English. With nothing more than a Dream, Hopes and Hard work they came to America and began a service business that is still in existence today. I received attn to detail with my nails, and I also learned quite a bit about Tucson! The place across the street did not give my the level of service I received here! I have been a client of My Nails from Day 1. I am a same place, same thing kinda girl and this place ROCKS! They greet you when you walk in, let you know you're welcome, and they make sure you're happy before you walk out the door. The color selection is amazing! I get acrylic coating on my nails with gel polish every time. Why? Because their work stays and stays! Sometimes my nails still look as good as they did three weeks before when they were done (other than growth). I am rough on my nails and I have had little to no breakage! I really like this nail salon! Not only was my pedicure beautifully done by Jason....the owner, David, was friendly and outgoing throughout my stay there as well. Jason made sure everything was sparkling clean and chatted amiably while working. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there! I requested an appointment for a pedicure through yelp and received a prompt response, although I'd recommend calling if open. Salon was clean and staff was welcoming. The pedicure tubs have disposable liners for each new customer. The chairs are ultra comfortable! I got a great massage while my feet were treated to a wonderful pedicure. I came in for a pedicure, and was greeted warmly. I was seated immediately, and was the only one in there at 5:30 pm on a Friday evening. I was asked very clearly what services I wanted, and was given the prices prior to service. This is typically not done at most nail salons I've been to, so it was nice to know exactly what I was getting! The staff is friendly, and the experience is relaxing. I can see that the place is very clean. I watched an employee scrub out the pedicure bowls, could see an autoclave in use, and overall the place does not reek of nail polish (as in you're able to breathe actual pure oxygen inside this establishment)! The employees also wore gloves when working on me, which is appreciated in the cleanliness aspect. It's also an awesome place to come with friends, as the manicure stations are seated 2by2, in case you and your girlfriend want to be close during your manicure! read more

It has taken me over a month for my finger nails to grow back from the horrific job one of the manicurist's did for just taking off dipped polish. Couldn't possibly be certified/qualified. All of my finger nails had been strong before she attacked them with a dremel and I walked out with deep grooves in them, thinned out and a complete mess. Some of my nails are still pointing up instead of growing out straight. Meanwhile, the manger guy is oblivious to what is going on around him. read more

It was a weekend and I came here expecting to get a good experience. I needed a fill and I wanted to do some additional changes like making my nails shorter. While the person was filing my nails I received burns underneath the tip of my nail. I had burns on three tips of my fingers. I told the person that it burns and they gave me no charge for the additional services that I asked for. read more

I have been a customer at their other Salon Nails by Yen for the past 5 years with no issues. I decided to try their new salon down the street, My Nails. Last week was my first visit there. I came in for a gel pedicure. I noticed some unsanitary practices by the tech on this visit where she was touching my feet and then touching used cotton balls that had been used to remove other customers nail polish. At their other location they usually file down the gel topcoat to remove and then soak in acetone, and foil to remove. This tech however used an electric tool to remove my polish thus damaging my nails a bit during the process. This was disappointing as I have spent the last year polish free, and have strong healthy nails. This was only my second pedicure in a years time (Yen gave me a wonderful pedicure last month!) but this new tech has left my nails damaged. There were many ants crawling on the floor around the chairs. Two days after my pedicure my polish came off one nail, I went back and the same tech kindly fixed it for me. However, it was at this second visit where I saw terribly unsanitary practices by her. After using a metal tool and file on me to fix the nail she simply rinsed them off in the sink (no soap, or disinfectant was used) and then put them back in her desk to use on the next customer. I can only hope they were clean before she used them on me. I saw the other tech when finished with her clients rinsed her tools (no disinfectant used) and then put them in the machine to sanitize. Now just a week after my original pedicure polish had fallen off another nail completely. After spending $60 on this pedicure I'd expect my polish to last more than a week! I recommend their other location Nails by Yen, and to request Yen or David. Unfortunately I will not be returning to My Nails due to this incident, and the unsanitary practices I saw. read more

I moved a few months ago to the area and have been trying every place around to find a place that does a great job. This was definitely not one of them. When I arrived there was only 1 other person in the shop and I was helped right away. That was the only plus. I got the pedicure with callus removal and a fill with gel. I expected for my pedicure that my feet would have been very soft and it was quite the opposite. My feet were very rough. They were not that rough when he started. When she was done with my nails they are so thick and the gel already started to chip and peel 2 hours after they were done. Then when I went to pay my bill was $70.00. When I questioned the total she told me that the pedi was $35 (That's ok) and my fill with gel was $33?? and then she charged me $2 to make my nails shorter???? I have never been charged for cutting them down at ANY salon, after all they use the dremel took and it took her 1 minute to do it. She was also very jumpy with the dremel tool as she was doing it burning me multiple times. I will not be back to this place even though it is very convenient to my house. I would also not recommend it either. read more
