I found this salon on ClassPass and they were offering half off your first service, which is a great way to get people in the door. I did read reviews beforehand and several of them mentioned being backed up and appointments starting late. I was a little nervous about that, but it's not a big place and the staff seems small so I can see how it could happen. My appointment started about 20 minutes late, and while I was initially annoyed, the services were great and Peter did an amazing job on my toes. Zero complaints besides the late start. I got the luxury deluxe pedicure which included just about everything you could imagine. Scented water, foot scrub and massage, parrafin, body butter on the calves and feet. A few of the chairs also have usb ports in the massage remote, and Peter was nice enough to let me use his charger. If you're in a hurry, pass on coming here. If you have an hour or 2 to kill and really want to relax, this is your place. I think midweek/afternoon is probably a good time to come in. Overall, I liked to Mom n Pop vibe and it's small and quiet. Coming back for sure. read more

I've tried this place a couple of times because it's close to the house and it's a hit or miss. The last two times have been a miss for sure. Yesterday I called to make an appointment and was told to come at 4:30pm. Showed up 5 min prior and there were 2 people working on pedicures that were just started and 2 other ladies waiting for services as well. One lady stated she's been waiting 30 min. The music was so loud in there and it's a small space. The gentlemen working explained they were short staffed because of the holiday weekend but after waiting 20 min I decided to leave and go elsewhere. Note: They offer a Groupon but you can't walk in to redeem it. They require you to schedule through the Groupon website. Also, I noticed a sign that said they have a $1 surcharge per person which is random. read more

So my sister use to come here all the time we decided to travel all the way down to Charlotte to come here because we don't have any good nail salons at in the small city we live in , this is has been the worst experience that has ever happened to me ever I got the deluxe pedicure service and he explained to me that I needed double cuticle treatment and I said yea trusting his judgement , the next day my feet starting peeling SOOOOO BAD AND MY HEELS STARTED SPLITTING SO BAD I CANNOT EVEN WALK !!! I arrived at 5:04pm I left at approx 7pm (2 hours!!!) (give or take a minute or two) I suppose by saying that if you have never been here, don't go. I made the mistake but won't be going back ever again... I went in and initially was going to get a gel polish change on my toes and a full set with Gel on my fingers. I saw that their "basic" pedicure was only $26 so I thought I would go ahead and do that. (I am not sure of the woman's name that took care of me but se was a middle aged woman I would guess approximately 45 years old maybe... ) They have VERY FEW GEL colors to choose from so don't go thinking you have tons of choices because you don't. I chose #84 which was a shiny red. the lady told me to have a seat. I did so in the pedicure chair and I went to put my feet in the water but it was scolding..... I had to keep them out of the water it was so hot. she then came over and I told her tht I had Gel on my toes already that needed to be taken off. she got a "emory board" type nail file out and started scrubbing on my toes... she scrubbed the meat off my toe I said Ouch that hurt!!!!.. she laughed a little and smiled and said oooo I am sorry.... I should have got up then but I didn't want to look like the typical bad customer and mistakes do happen so I stayed in the seat. she got the polish off of my toes and then she got the clippers that are specifically for "ingrown toenails" they look like pliers but most salons use them to clean the cuticle area because they clean close to the nail and take off the cuticle meat around the nail bed.... That is where the REAL problems started. She did it so fast it was clipping my actual nail bed. it HURT like it seriously HURT. I said Ouch (Again) I looked down and she was wiping blood from around my toenail. She then got up and went to a drawer and got some green stuff in a drawer and put it on my toe... she then told me to put my foot back in the water.... (well obviously the stuff she put in the water (the pedicure whatever, I am not sure what they call it, the powder or whatever that causes the water to turn colors) I put my feet in the water and it started to burn where she cut me... I said ok stop that is enough, just stop... (now she had NOT even done anything to my feet except for that; remove my polish and Cut me) she did NOT use any sort of pumice stone or anything on my feet. I had not even soaked my feet - the water was burning where she cut me so I couldn't keep my feet in the water. I asked her to just polish my toes, forget doing a pedicure on my feet. she then put alcohol on my feet -which again BURNED... She kept asking me if I liked the color - I said yes it's fine. she did my feet.... (SHE POLISHED MY TOENAILS) I still needed my nails done as well (I know probably shouldn't have but I was trying to be courteous and understanding....) She was also in charge of my nails.... Let me just say she did a HORRIBLE job - no she didn't cut me on my fingers but I feel like I have just as much acrylic under my nails as I do on top of them. (I had to ask her to get some of it off, because she was going to leave it there... Now let's fast forward to check out - Remember she did not do a pedicure on me she cut me and I couldn't go through with it. she polished my toes, and I got a full set with Gel polish.... I was charged $94 Yes you read that right $94 DOLLARS! She charged me for the "work she did on my feet" she freaking cut me and she charged me for it... On top of that my polish on my feet is starting to bubble up. So i have to go back by there again today.. I am not happy. I said "you mean to tell me that I am being charged for you to cut me??? the gentleman sitting in the chair by the front door said (while he sorta shrugged) she is charging you for the part she did complete... I said are you serious??? (I paid $94 to be cut, a full set that is a mess and my toes to be painted....OH now the polish is bubbling up on my toes... I have to go back by to have them fix it I will edit this after today to let you know how it goes) read more

I waited an hour after my appointment before being seen. This was a busy Saturday so I understood and was willing to wait. However the horrendous manicure I received makes me certain I won't be back. I left with nail polish on my skin, messy edges and enough space between wheee the polish starts and the cuticle to look like it had already grown out for a week. read more

Very unprofessional. Only the male worker knows pricing. Viewed the Groupon before beginning services and asked about pricing but no one spoke so I said ok I'll pay the $48. In the middle of the Pedicure, the male says I can't use the Groupon. It'll be $66 total instead because the workers work on commission. Knowing this, that means no tip was given because it's already included. Even asking pricing you won't get a clear answer until after a service is provided. The lady who serviced my nails was good just wasn't helpful with pricing. Will not return. read more

Let's start off by saying the fact that I drive 45 minutes to get my nails done here, this is the ONLY place I will ever get my nails done in the Charlotte area. I had tried a few other places but nothing compared to the service I got here and the quality work that was completed. I have been getting my nails done here for over a year now and I continue to come back every time. Peter gets to know his customers on a personal level which makes the experience that much better. The girls who work here are AMAZING and are such sweet hearts. I work in healthcare and the fact my gel nails stay on for over 2 weeks looking brand new is outstanding. I just wandered in here and I'm so happy I did! My nails were a mess! I needed a full-in but decided to soak off my acrylic and get SNS instead. I'm very happy with the results. I've already have 4 nails star chipping (I went back the day after my appointment to fix 1 - that's why you only see 3 messed up nails pictured). It hasn't even been a week yet and my nails look horrible. I've never EVER had gel polish do this before and this was my first time here. I will never come back. The front desk guy is really trying to swindle people. My sister called in 2 days prior and asked if he would accept a groupon voucher, he said yes. They hang up and a few mins later HE calls HER back and says to not buy from Groupon, He will honor the price in person. When we got there for our appointment we asked him before he started how much it would be (because we saw that others had bad experiences about prices). He claimed that he didn't remember telling us he would honor the Groupon price and that due to Covid they werent taking vouchers. (Remember that wasn't what he was sayin 2 days prior). He had a thousand excuses and tries to be a slick talker but here's the thing- he is using Groupon to lure customers in during Covid and then refusing to take Groupon vouchers. This is a nice spot to get a mani/pedi. I came with a friend for the first time a month ago and was impressed with their prices and how long my nails last; compared to another location I had been going to for years. They're not consistent with offering you something to drink unless you're getting a pedicure. Depending on who's doing it, you just have to make sure they get your cuticles nice and clean as they aim to not hurt the customer and will sometimes overlook it if you're jumpy. My toe nails always come out nice and pretty and also last two weeks or more (without swimming). Another drawback is the wait time, as they're short staffed. But they make up for it by being personable and apologetic as possible. Besides, if you check in on Yelp you can use their deal and gladly save money for the slight inconvenience. Overall, I like this place and will continue to come back...just not during lunch or when I have early dinner plans. read more

It was a very small place. Very friendly staff and knowledgeable about the products they sold, but overall it wasn't the place for me. There was soothing elevator music playing the entire time, it felt like it was on a replay track. I experienced some pain during my pedicure, cutting close to my skin, which might have needed it but just not comfortable. My new nail Salon!! I got my nails done here for the first time today 1/21/18. I went in to get a full set with gel polish but Peter suggested I get tips with SNS (no acrylic). I explained that I didn't want my SNS to look thick and un-natural. He said he would do my nails. He did a great job and didn't over charge me. I paid $45. The only thing that wasn't great was the time I was in the salon. However I am giving the salon the benefit of the doubt and hope that next time I will be in and out. Thanks Peter!! read more

I ended up here today when the 4 other nail salons i stopped at were closed on Sundays. I'm glad I did. Peter did an amazing job on my SNS powder. What i was most pleased with is he invited me back... I don't think people realize the importance of extending that invitation and asking for my business. In this day in age of Grouponing, etc, I will admit, I don't tend to be loyal to many services. But Peter made me feel like my business was wanted and I appreciated that greatly. Surcharge added to payment at the end,, generally there a sign of that to inform the public. Some nail services (I tried powder dip for the first time) do not come with an actual manicure, that is $10 more. I was disappointed in the service I got from this location. I signed in an notice there was only one client in a chair having service and two worker. I was told someone will be with me in a minute. Two other people came in then a third. I sat there for 45 minutes people before was two of the people that came after me was called and when I informed them I was there before them they acted as though the don't understand Englis. If I could give this establishment zero stars I would. The "owner" and I use that word very loosely was very unprofessional. We had purchased a groupon deal for ourselves and one other person for their birthday and when we walked into the salon we were told to pick out our colors and to have a seat he was running behind. Mind you we had an appointment at 1:30pm and we were on time and another lady walked in at 2pm and was told to sit at the middle table, after we had already been there. Then after reading the sign at the desk we saw that they weren't accepting vouchers so we asked the "owner" about it and he said due to Covid-19 they weren't but didn't provide a detailed explanation as to why. So we left and told the person who actually purchased the groupon and he called the shop to get more information as to why and after a couple minutes the "owner" hung up on him. So he went inside the shop to explain his displeasure in his customer service and the "owner" told him to leave his shop after the "owner" had already threatened him. Once outside the "owner" proceeded to call the police unwarranted and lied and said the he (the owner) was being threatened even though the person who bought the birthday gift never threatened him at all. The person was trying to walk away and the "owner" proceeds to follow him into the parking lot to "try" and get our license plate. We had to tell one of our other passengers to get in the car and drive away and we walked down to a different store and the "owner" continued to follow us down the sidewalk. So I would not recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a new nail salon. Please take your business elsewhere. read more

Waited about an hour & 1/2! Nice looking salon but they need to hire more technicians. Don't know why I even waited as long as I did. When I got there around 10am there were 2 technicians working on 2 people getting pedis. I signed in & asked how long it would take. They said about 20-25 mins. I thought nothing of it so I waited around. Eventually at about 1/2 hour he was finished with one of the people getting a pedi so he sat me at my chair with nice temp water even got me something to drink. He was really very nice & cordial. I thought he was going to start working on me. But he made me comfortable in my pedi chair & then started on the same customer who was now getting a manicure. Now I am sitting waiting around with my feet in water thinking, any time now. (Oh & I'm annoyed that my massage chair was not working too.) I think what made me even more mad was that there was another customer that walked in after me & either she was a regular or I don't know if she made appt but she was seen before me. I notice they have a habit of doing this since I just read it in another persons review. So this is in fact very real. The truth is that it seems like a very nice, clean salon with very nice, professional technicians. However, they are in desperate need to hire more. You can not make a customer wait over 1 hour to get a simple mani/pedi when there are tons of other places near by offering the same service & at triple the speed. After sitting in the pedi chair with my feet in water for over 45 mins & on a massage chair that's not working I eventually asked for a towel. I had given them more than enough time. Drove to another place on the other side of the strip mall that sat me & saw me right away. That's how it's done. You walk in & wait maybe 10mins tops. Get with the program folks! I've been going to My Nails & Tan since they first opened which is about 15 years ago. And over the course of those 15 years, I have only been to a few other nail salons for only 2 reasons: 1. I'm in a rush and don't have time to wait 2.I'm out of town and failed to get my nails done prior to leaving. Bottom line, I've yet to get a better pedicure or fill-in ANYWHERE. And let's face it...who doesn't like to go to an establishment where when you walk in the door you're greeted by your first name? That small effort to make EVERYONE that walks through their door feel like a valued customer is awesome to me! There are other clients that have been going there for years as well so it feels like one big happy family. The only reason I'm not giving a 5 star rating is because they continue to struggle with being fully staffed so the wait can be long at times. What a surprisingly great experience! It doesn't look like much from the outside, located in a Walmart shopping center Complex, but the owner and workers are wonderfully friendly and have a refreshing customer service experience that I haven't had anywhere else in Charlotte. Many of the salons here are quantity over quality, rushing you in and out, and skimping on service if you're close to closing time. Not this salon! They offer non-generic SNS powder and have a great color selection. The prices are good, and you get a complimentary glass of wine and a nice massage chair. They are so friendly and really take the time to know what you want. I had a late appointment but they still took the time to make sure I felt very pampered and my nails look beautiful. This time I got a gel manicure with the new mint color from the OPI line and a deluxe pedicure which includes hot towels, massage and scrub along with the basics. It doesn't hurt that they were playing some sweet 70s music videos, with the employees happily singing along! I've been to other places where the employees seem pretty grumpy which makes me think this place takes care of their employees as well as their customers.
