From the moment she started, we noticed a boost in her confidence and a new excitement for learning. The progress she's made--academically and emotionally--has been truly remarkable. A huge thank-you to Miss Sarah and Miss Natalie, who have both been incredibly patient, encouraging, and dedicated. They take the time to really understand her needs and tailor each session to help her grow. Their warm and supportive approach has made her feel comfortable, motivated, and proud of her accomplishments. I absolutely love Miss Sarah's "get to work" attitude and my daughter loves Miss Natiles fashion choices. The environment at Stowell is welcoming and uplifting, and our daughter always looks forward to her sessions. As parents, we appreciate the clear communication and the genuine care they show for her success. We are so grateful for the positive impact this center--and especially Miss Sarah and Miss Natalie--have had on her learning journey. We highly recommend Stowell Learning Center to any family looking for a caring and effective place for their child to thrive.

I can't say enough about Stowell. I came to the lobby when my son was in 5th grade and I must have…read moreinterviewed every mother grandmother in the lobby. The front desk knew I was serious and determined and a no fuss mother who wanted answers. Finding a solution, giving me answers and showing me the steps was comforting. I had learned about the center from a speech therapist. She suggested it and said you are the only determined mother who will drive an hour one way daily. Two hours round trip! I did! I drove so much and was exhausted. Needless to say thank you Stowell as I write this with tears in my eyes. My son can read, he is graduating from high school in eight weeks and currently has a 3.74. It has been four years since he has been there but looking back I don't regret all the money, time spent. Seeing your child thrive is priceless!!! Thank you to Kaitlyn!! Thank you Everyone else! It is a great operation!

Mardan School

When I first discovered this school, based on recommendations of parents, doctor, and advocate, I…read morewas a bit worried. Mardan had a "reputation" for having difficult, violent kids. So we went to the school and were simply floored as to how wrong the reputation was. The school is magnificent, with high tech (first graders were working on making powerpoint projects) education, including social studies, art, and science which is now lacking in most schools. The teachers, adminstrators, and other parents have been outstanding and supportive. Many kids graduate Mardan and go on to college and successful occupations. My daughter was basically being left behind by school district SDC classes. She has no outbursts, but will quietly not participate. I think that the public school system is very happy to have a warm body to get tax dollars and doesn't care at all about their academic education once in the special education system. In summer school alone, she went from non-reading, to proficency in over 100 sight words. After a year, she can now read level 2 books, is learning to sound out words, and can add and subtract. They are addressing all of her issues and giving her the structure she needs to learn. Some students are attending privately (parents paying), others are through the school distrct's paying the way. The younger kids are generally high-functioning autistic/ ADHD. The older kids all have various reasons for not being able to handle public school. But all are very helpful, polite, and will find a lot of success. My main negative is that there are not enough girls in this school. Parents of girls who are having issues in public school...pay attention, as many girls are diagnosed later than boys with learning disabilities. It's better to intervene early and get help. Mardan is a wonderful place for kids with "different" ways of learning to excel. Please check them out. Mardan is a wonderful resource which is underutilized My daughter now loves to go to school!

I'll be…read morehonest--I wasn't initially on board with homeschooling, and it was hard for me to wrap my brain around taking this path. But I am SO thankful we did. Our son has gained so much confidence, and it has been amazing to watch his personal growth. Even more importantly, his health has improved in his time here. He was diagnosed with a rare form of childhood epilepsy, and in the short time he has been at I Can Academy, we have seen his seizure activity cut in half. I believe this is due to a few factors including the positive environment and less stress. We are incredibly grateful for the support, understanding, and positive environment he has received. The teachers are amazing. A few of them are teachers my children have had in the past which made for an easy transition for my son. I hope our experience helps another mom who may be on the fence about homeschooling, just like I was, because for our family, the benefits have by far outweighed any of the negative ideas I had in my head.

The office staff was so warm and welcoming, and our daughter loved picking out her supplies to create her own I Can Academy bag. Her teacher was incredibly kind and created such a positive, engaging learning atmosphere. During the class, I even heard my daughter shout, "I can read!" When it ended, she was smiling and excited to bring home new flash cards to practice blending sounds. A few days later, she had an assessment at a private school for kindergarten, which included sounding out letters and blending them. She did so well--and I couldn't believe how quickly the lessons from the academy had already made an impact. This is absolutely the place to go if you want a warm, child-first learning experience. We highly recommend it!
