Update: First I have to say that Stelio's has been incredible helping me in this nightmare that I have been going through for 2 months with my glasses. I finally got the 2nd pair & the lens issue was fixed (see my previous review). I wore them for a bit but my everything was still lopsided & at times I couldn't even see clearly (especially at night, which is very dangerous), & and I was having headaches. So I went back to Stanton Optical. I talked to Stelios & told him what was going on. Turns out that the original person who did my classes, did not measure correctly so this caused the powers to be in the wrong places & this was causing my eyes strain, etc. So he measured the correct way and ordered the correct lenses. Unfortunately, when they came in; the lenses broke due to poor quality (and they had actually upgraded the quality of the lenses because of the issues I've been having). At this point, I decided to just go ahead with a whole different frame & try one more time. I got my new glasses yesterday. Apparently they are too big for my face because they keep sliding down and when I cleaned the the hell, this is not even charging lenses, they're popping out! I am totally over Stanton optical and will never recommend it to anybody! I should not have been going through these issues for 2 months now. Unfortunately for me, I am leaving today to go out of state for two weeks so I do not have time to go get the glasses adjusted. Now you'd THINK, in this economy, that businesses would WANT business... Not these folks! Before I could say boo, I was informed, that not only do they only do virtual visits, not in person; but, that if you have even the early onset of glaucoma, they will not provide you with glasses, or services of any kind! It is important to mention on your website that you do virtual eye exams. Some people will not be comfortable with this. I am not comfortable with this. I brought my 13 yrs old son who has disabilities. This is not the best way to get the exam done. Staff can do a better job as well. The person who did our intake make couple snarky comments. The person who did the testing do not tell my son air will be blown into his eye. After that he was scared to keep his eyes open for the rest of of the testing. Everyone needs to do a better job. Had I know this was going to be a virtual appointment, I would have scheduled else where. The gentleman helping was clearly on commission as I told him numerous times I only wear glasses at night when going to bed, so I do not need progressive lenses or any of the costly upgrades he was trying sell me, yet he continued time and time again, quoting me prices with all of the extras. I finally had enough and told him "I've told you 3 times I only want standard lenses". With him responding, "Oh, I was just making sure". No, no you were not. The staff is friendly, which is the only positive thing about this store. I scheduled an appointment online, completed the paperwork, and arrived early. They made me reschedule, redo the paperwork, and then wait 30 minutes past my appointment time. The exam was virtual, with me reading letters off a mirror instead of a screen, and the examiner had such a thick accent that I wasn't sure if I completed it correctly. I paid $463 for two pairs of glasses, even after a bunch of savings. They promised same-day service, which I urgently needed, but after paying, they told me the glasses wouldn't be ready for two weeks. They didn't offer any solutions, so I had to suggest trial contacts. When I went to pick up the first pair that was ready, they had put the lenses in the wrong sides. It's now been three weeks, and my second pair of glasses still hasn't arrived. After calling, they said my prescription hasn't even shipped yet, with no apology--just "yeah, it's out of our control." I didn't know until I arrived that this "vision test" is a virtual test conducted by a refractionist from another country. They speak with thick accents and go very quickly. Honestly, I don't even think they are an eye doctor. Thankfully, I was in the exam with my son because the woman literally started to fall asleep. I had to call her out. This is unbelievable. I should have known when the cost for the exam was $59.99. I would be very cautious when proceeding with them. You could very well be using a lens that isn't even what is needed for your eyes! No customer service skills what so ever. I bring my daughter in for her eye exam and the lady explains to me the she's going to take her to do the exam, fine okay I stay in the lobby. Then within a minute I get a text from my daughter asking me medical health history questions for more forms that the lady gave her to fill out in a separate waiting area in the back which the lady did not mention at all. Great personality and just super friendly I was already a little stressed coming in with a teething infant which didn't bother her the least. Worst experience ever!!!!!! I went today to get my eye exam and new frames. During the tests performed by "Ruby" who is not even a Doctor told me ok now it's time for the "flash" test I told her I can't have that, I have Epilepsy, and I'm extremely photosensitive. After I told her that. It was like I was such a pain in the a.. for her, she said I'm going to "chat" with the Doctor, like really??? there is not even a professional in the store, after that she just told me: Well, the doctor will not write a prescription for you if you don't do the test, I was like hello didn't I tell you I'm photosensitive. Her tone during the whole time was rude, I don't care kinda attitude but most of all, her lack of compassion/care was beyond any words can express. I came back home depressed, feeling less than human and crying like a river. Train your staff better to be more compassionate to your customers and provide better customer service. So I was at home and the UPS guy showed up. He had a very nice package if I may say so. After he drank melted ice out of my bellybutton, he suggested I get my eyes checked. I head over to the eye lab. FREE EYE EXAM. I was excited. Yes the eye exam was free but it's only because they want to get you excited about glasses. What kind of glasses? Glasses you would see a lesbian pirate on 6th street wearing. That kind! She told me I should have read the fine print. I accused of her of false advertising, she then decided to call me an ugly tampon straight from the public restroom. I was about to get angry and start breaking the cases and throw glasses around and shout out racial slurs. I took a deep breath and remembered that I have a half eaten beef and cheddar sandwich waiting for me in the car. I ran out to the car as fast as I could. I put some honey mustard on that bad boy and headed over to the strip club for the happy hour lunch special. My day was good again. So what am I trying to say here? Needed contacts because mine had torn and were blurry. Insurance didn't kick back in until January so I called Eyelab and was told that it was going to be $89.00 and I asked the representative if that was all inclusive with no loopholes and I was told that was the correct price. Booked the appt for the same day and was seen. Pretty cool virtual experience and the person who gave me my pre-exam was awesome can't complain I was given a contact that was not the right strength because it wasn't in stock. I go to checkout and was greeted with someone with short blond hair, after telling them I didn't want to order contacts because I'm a first responder and get them discounted somewhere else she immediately changed her attitude and was like so you're going to pay the $145 dollars for the exam I just acknowledge and left. Absolutely rude and disrespectful. I will make sure everybody, on all my social media accounts l, knows not to go to this company. Was lied to by the person making the appointment. Not happy at all. I do not recommend going to, or purchasing anything from this location. I've never experienced unreliable customer service as I have at this location recently. I went in for an eye exam and contacts on May 25th. I was initially going to purchase eye glasses as well. I was greeted nicely and my eye exam was completed rather quickly and that's where ALL the rest of this horrible experience started. I started to look at some glasses. I believe there was a 2 for $56 dollar offer going on so I decided to purchase glasses also. Well, I picked some out and the girl assisting me asked if that was going to be it and I told her I was going to need contacts as well. So she started typing and told me the cost for my glasses was going to be $400+. I asked her what about the 2 for $56 deal and she told me that was only for people with insurance. So I told her never mind. She put in the order of contacts and was given a total of $290+. I asked when she thought my contacts would be in and she told me they would be available the following Tuesday. (Monday was memorial day) Tuesday came and no call I figured I'd give it a few more days. I call on Friday and no contacts. I am given a number for Stanton optical customer service and the guy I spoke with said they had been shipped and to at least wait until Monday. Well, Monday comes and goes no contacts. I call and I call and every time I get the same response." They've been shipped". Friday comes I go back up there to speak to someone about this situation and was told that they would get it to me with 2 day shipping. I was told that they would get back to me as soon as possible to let me know what happened. Yet again, no one gets back to me and then I have to call back the following Monday to figure out what's going on. I spoke with a manager who PROMISED me that he would figure it out and get back to me by the end of business that day. Well, now it's Thursday and I haven't received a call from anyone about anything. I decided to go up there to get to the bottom of the situation or get a refund. Spoke with sales manager and wasn't able to rectify the situation so I got my money back minus the eye exam. I was supposed to get a trial pairs the day I ordered my contacts and wasn't given any. Absolutely disappointed with the customer service. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. I asked for the regional manager or area Managers number but wasn't given it. read more
