Empanadas are mid and overpriced. $16.54 for one beef and one aji de pollo empanada. Service is flippant. Stopped by ravenous- was nervous to try because of the Yelp reviews (seemed hit or miss). It was completely empty with the exception of the owners mom? doom scrolling on her phone. The owner/ operator suggested empanadas. They had chicken and beef ready to go, but she said she had other empanadas in the back she could pop in the oven- she said it'd only be a few minutes. I ordered the aji de pollo and beef empanadas. After ringing me up, she said it'd be 10 minutes. Okay. During the wait I perused the restaurant. It's small. Another review said it looked dirty and on the brink of closing- I could see that. It's not dirty dirty but also not the cleanest. I leaned my hands on the steel counter and it was a little sticky. Empanadas did come out in 10 minutes. She pulled out two containers for green hot sauce. I asked for an extra, she said okay, then handed me my bag, ignoring my request. I asked again, she rolled her eyes but did get another. The empanadas are delicious. Chicken and beef empanadas are ready to go, but this is a small Mom & Pop place, so if you want veggie empanadas or some of the less-requested fillings you may have to wait 15 minutes. Dropped in real quick to see what they had. I got there about 15 minutes before closing so the ready made empanadas were my best option. The gentlemen working there was willing to make me anything but I didn't have time. I grabbed a couple of beef empanadas and headed out. I got home and ate one while it was warm and enjoyed it. The next morning I ate one cold and found that it was really good as a quick breakfast. Definitely worth checking out as Peruvian food is scarce unless you want chicken. read more

I went back again and ordered an empanada which was not bad but seemed overpriced and had no sauce on side. Asked for other stuff from menu and they did not have it in stock. The empanadas were so good! We got the aji de pollo, which was filled with tender shredded chciken in a creamy sauce. The shell had a nice crisp, but I wish it was crispier. While the empanadas were tasty, it was not worth $7 each, and definitely not worth the 30 min wait. I wish we knew how long it would take to bake them - we would've ordered more so we wouldn't feel as bad waiting so long for just two empanadas. Found this new place by accident, and good thing I did because the food is amazing. I had the Lomo Saltado, wife had the Ceviche and their last empanada, all three were deliciously flavorful. Just know that it's a small mom & pop restaurant and service is a bit slow, but the wait is definitely worth it. read more

Just before Christmas I was hiking for about 2 1/2 hours at a National Park near Atlanta GA. My lock on my car was damaged and my vehicle was broken into. My wallet in my vehicle was found and only my three credit cards and one debit were stolen, each card had about $1,600 put on it from my empanadas in Fairfax VA. If you look up their reviews this has happen to many other in different state. They are under a federal investigation for their crime of hiring teens to break into cars. They tell the teens that after putting x amount of money charges on each card that they can than than use the card for their own personal charges. My lock on my vehicle is permanently damaged. My 2009 vehicle no longer has parts to repair it. Please do not support this restaurant. Call the Fairfax police department if you don't believe me. read more

Okay so I just had an emergency vet visit next door, and I was starving. Maybe the most bland empanadas I've ever had. Ordered via Grubhub, got 2x of three different meats/flavors. We were extremely disappointed compared to an experience with another empanada vendor we'd previously ordered from. The crispy shell was fantastic and beautiful, but the flavors were extremely bland. Ordered 3x Empanadas ($15) online, for pickup. Arrived approx. 25 minutes later, and told the gentleman I had an online order. He looked at the register, then he again asked me if I had placed an online order. I answered yes, he looked at a tablet, and went in the back. When he returned about a minute later, I was told that the "machine" was not working ( not sure if he meant machine that had something to do with making empanadas ? or receiving orders) and would I like him to make them now. I opted out, as the whole purpose of ordering before hand was to pick them up and go. Interestingly the site did not require me to prepay, it denoted that "customer will pay upon pickup" and gave me a confirmation number. Has the appearance of a restaurant going out of business. There was NOTHING in the many elaborate display cases except for a few chicken and beef empanadas. I went with a friend and we tried to order from the menu and were told NO Peruvian chicken. Everything was "we don't have that!" So we asked for vegetable empanadas. That would take an hour so had to go with what they had. The "chef-manager-wait staff-hostess-bus person" said she could make us something but she was already busy cooking a dish for the one other customer, and she implied she was overwhelmed with that task. Decor is depressing in that tables are dirty, floor is a mish-mash mess and cushions are torn, but there are plenty of lovely posters featuring food they don't serve. Hard to see anything with limited lighting which gave the entire scene a sketchy feel. Signage is a temporary banner so they aren't committed/invested in anything. We agreed to try the chicken empanadas. A helper gal that obviously had no training in food service took our money and then reached and placed a tissue to line the basket (baskets looked dirty) using non gloved dirty hands to handle the baskets and tissue. There did not appear to be any gloves anywhere, and the kitchen is open so ya better enjoy smoke. Empenadas were handled with tongues but then placed on the dirty tissue. The powdered sugar gave empanadas some flavor. Not spicy and kind of dry, but we didn't get sick from the unusual lack of cleanliness. Lots of easy parking, for obvious reasons. Had hoped for a fun culinary experience, but this was a struggle. Not a value. Lured in by false menu advertising. read more
