Last month, there was a terribly windy day--winds clocked around 80 mph. I called several tree removal companies the next day to solicit quotes for removing a large, dead Cottonwood tree, a dead, small Peach tree, and trim a Pine tree--all in my back yard. My Denver Tree Service came out that same day and wrote up a thorough quote with each item detailed. They were ready to put me on their schedule for the next week. But, I had yet to get quotes from anyone else, so I asked to wait. The second bid I received was cheaper, but I wasn't sure how soon or long it would take the contractor to complete the job--he spoke of "fitting me into his schedule" and wanted to come out on a Sunday. The third contractor wasted my time by making me wait until the end of that week to send someone out and then he insulted both the previous bids and told me that he'd lose money even bidding on it, so he refused to bid. (That's after I'd explained in great detail the scope of the work I needed done to the woman in their office who'd taken my call and scheduled the quote).
My Denver Tree Service sent their crew out 2 weeks later and they did a fabulous job doing all the items I'd requested. They removed all debris. The day that they'd come out, it was raining, and they called me to say that they weren't sure if they could do it that day--they didn't want their crew getting hurt, with which I totally agree. He wanted to talk with his crew first and then he'd call me back. A couple hours later it had stopped raining, no phone call, but the crew showed up and immediately set to work removing the Cottonwood tree. After cleaning up, they left--and right after that, it began to rain again.
The next day, I got a call saying that they'd be back to finish the rest of the job--which they did. The only thing I thought weird was that nobody bothered to knock on my door either day to let me know that they were there. I ended up having to mail my payment to them and that was a little tricky since there were multiple addresses on the internet for them (but none on the written quote they gave me). I ended up using the address on the email that they'd sent to me with their Certificate of Liability Insurance--they are fully insured, including Workers Compensation. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone as they did a professional and complete job. read more
